Mr. Bigshot Is Obsessed with His Hidden-Marriage Wife -
Chapter 35: No Need to Wait for Convenience
Chapter 35: Chapter 35: No Need to Wait for Convenience
Ye Yan knew she had wronged him, and what surprised her was that he would earnestly explain himself.
He even had Assistant Sun swear such a "poisonous oath."
He really didn’t have to go to such lengths.
"I already apologized, what more do you want?" Ye Yan huffed in dissatisfaction.
"In the future, if you’re going to accuse someone, please make sure you have all the evidence."
Ye Yan didn’t argue this time, nor did she have the face to do so.
"So, it was because of this that you didn’t come to me for help?"
"Yep." Ye Yan didn’t want to deny it anymore at this point, "I sent messages, but you didn’t reply."
Fu Xingzhou, having received a positive response, his expression cleared somewhat. It seemed that she wasn’t trying to distance herself from him; was she... jealous?
"Now you can ask for my help." Fu Xingzhou wrapped his arm around her slender waist, his tone suggestive, "Let’s see Dr. Ye’s skills in asking for favors."
"If Mr. Fu is happy, can you do everything I say?"
"Like what?"
"Find Nathan."
"I’m afraid that’s not possible."
Ye Yan’s gaze dimmed like a dying spark. As suspected, Nathan, such a mysterious big shot, was someone even Fu Xingzhou couldn’t track down.
"It’s not that he can’t be found," Fu Xingzhou patted her fair face, "it’s that there’s no need to look."
Ye Yan looked at him with some bewilderment.
"Because he’s far away on the horizon, yet close before your eyes."
As he finished, he noticed the eyes in front of him, which had almost extinguished, suddenly brightened like the morning star, fiercely ignited by the seed of hope.
"Nathan?"
"It is indeed I." He smiled slightly, his face still carrying that refined and casual expression, not one anyone would associate with such a legendary figure.
But on second thought, it made sense.
Fu Xingzhou had gone abroad for his studies after finishing high school, and his overseas experiences were a mystery to her.
"I studied law abroad." As if reading her mind, he explained patiently, "Before graduation, I fought two lawsuits; one sent a godfather to jail, the other, a royal son-in-law."
No wonder those two lawsuits had made him "famous for posterity." To ordinary people like them, these individuals were indeed unapproachable.
The immense pressure he must have faced during those lawsuits, the dangers he confronted - even thinking about it felt terrifying.
Fu Xingzhou seemed to have forgotten that period, his demeanor as light as a cloud in the breeze, not a word about still being targeted and hunted by a foreign church to this day.
The last time he nearly got shot, it likely had something to do with that church.
"Admiring me?"
Ye Yan nodded, not denying it.
She just hadn’t expected that after studying law abroad, he would return to Ao City and start a casino. And by playing the big fish eat the small fish game, he managed to control half of Ao City’s gambling industry within a few years.
It seemed as if the purpose of his law studies was to provide a legal shield for his gray industry.
Reading the most comprehensive law books, conducting the darkest deals.
This was adding wings to a tiger, no more, no less.
No wonder, after those two lawsuits made his name, no one could hire Nathan ever again.
In all of Ao City, who else could get Fu Xingzhou to fight a lawsuit for them?
"I’ve had someone check the plaintiff. They’re the local tyrants from Dangzi Island, accustomed to acting arrogantly and oppressively. And since the injured party is their only son, they’re dead set on sending your brother to prison."
"Ye Zhun was acting out of righteousness; they are the ones who are playing the victim."
"Legally, it’s about evidence, not conjecture. You’re Ye Zhun’s sister, you believe in your own brother; similarly, they certainly believe in their own son."
Ye Yan naturally understood this, and her expression dimmed somewhat as a result.
"However, they’re not so lucky this time." Fu Xingzhou didn’t like to see her with a worried frown, so he rubbed the head in front of him, "They have Lin Yihang, but you have Nathan."
With one sentence from Fu Xingzhou, it was as if a hand had swept away the dark clouds that had obscured her head these days, moving the mountain that pressed upon her heart.
It felt as if in one breath, her breathing became immensely clear, her body as light as a swan.
She saw the light of hope, so bright it nearly covered the darkness, emanating from that man. She was willing to devoutly kneel in front of him and worship.
"Good girl, I’ve taken your case. How will you pay the ’attorney fees’?" Fu Xingzhou stared at the delicate and enticing face in front of him, which was much more vibrant and spirited than when she was in front of Lin Yihang.
Ye Yan caught the hidden meaning in his words, her thin façade blushing with an enticing pink.
But recalling the ray of hope Fu Xingzhou had given her in her despair, she boldly placed her hand over the back of his, "When it’s convenient for me, I’ll pay you back, with interest."
Of course, he wasn’t really asking her for money; the illustrious Second Young Master Fu didn’t lack for that small change.
His desire for her was purely physical, seeking satisfaction of his own cravings.
"No need to wait until it’s convenient." The man’s voice was husky, the vivid allure in front of him once again stirring the tumultuous sea of his desires. From the moment he landed, he had thought about throwing her fiercely onto the bed, making her cry and beg for mercy.
He liked seeing the rosy tint around her eyes, the misty look in them, like a puddle of water, soft beneath him.
She would beg him in tears to be gentler; she would also retaliatively scratch his tattoos. In this regard, she always made it impossible for him to let go, wishing he could do away with this little vixen in bed, yet, he couldn’t bear to.
Fu Xingzhou’s long finger traced from the center of her forehead all the way down, resting on her lips, moist as peach blossoms.
His low, husky voice was bewitching, intoxicating the heart.
"Good girl, open your mouth."
~
Ye Yan felt she was utterly useless, not even knowing when she had fallen asleep in a daze.
She only remembered him guiding her hand to grasp that astonishing heat, and like a ghost possessed, she opened her mouth.
The remnants of the man’s muffled groans seemed still to hover in her ear, accompanied by his unique scent, which filled her nose, her mouth, and her entire soul.
She couldn’t help but cover her face with the blanket.
This was the second time, the second time she had let him vent like that.
Not that she disliked it, just that she felt rather embarrassed, hardly daring to recall the passionate moment, because her face would burn fiercely red at the thought.
Ye Yan hid under the blanket like a turtle withdrawing into its shell for a while, feeling no movement around her, before she cautiously peeked out her eyes.
Fu Xingzhou was not in the bedroom.
Ye Yan fumbled out of bed, heading towards the light in the living room.
Fu Xingzhou was sitting on the sofa, her laptop on the coffee table in front of him.
The light from the screen reflected off his sharply defined face, his profound eyes appearing even more concentrated and deep as the sea.
Ye Yan didn’t want to disturb him, so she treaded lightly.
Only when she drew closer did she realize he was reviewing a document, specifically about Ye Zhun’s case.
Looking at the wall clock, it was 2 a.m.
So, while she had been soundly sleeping, he had been working exhaustively for her case.
