Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Have Her Come to Our Private Room
"What’s that noise?" Liang Zheng was always one to enjoy a spectacle, "In Brother Tang’s territory, go see who dares to make a scene."
Beside him, a man immediately opened the door and went out.
Tang Jingyao grasped Meng Tian’s wrist, pulling her back to his side, "Don’t go out yet, be careful not to get hurt by accident."
After Meng Tian sat down, she tried to withdraw her hand but found that he gripped it tighter instead.
The man had been drinking, his gaze hotter than the highest proof alcohol, now staring at her as if he wanted to melt her.
"Ease up, it hurts," Meng Tian complained dissatisfied.
The corners of Tang Jingyao’s mouth carried his signature gentle smile, "You only feel good when there’s a strong grip, otherwise it’s like tickling, what’s the fun in that?"
"Tang Jingyao, can you be serious for once?"
With such a handsome face, speaking these shameless words was simply a waste of beauty.
"Which one do you like, the serious me, or the unserious me?" He suddenly leaned a bit closer, his breath laced with the smell of alcohol lingering around her lips, the exuberant hormones, the full on sexual tension.
Meng Tian almost fell into the depths of his eyes and words until she heard Liang Zheng’s voice next to her, "That woman looks so familiar."
Meng Tian followed his gaze to look outside the door, and was momentarily taken aback.
She almost thought the girl was Ye Yan, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
It looked like her, but it wasn’t.
Xin Rou, dressed in a waitress’s uniform, was now being cornered by several men in the hallway.
"Little sister, come play with us."
"Go to our private room, I’ll pay for your drinks."
On the ground near Xin Rou’s feet was a dropped serving tray, with two bottles of foreign liquor lying across it.
She was dodging the men’s teasing left and right, but the corridor was so narrow, with dangers both in front and behind; she couldn’t escape their clutches.
"Please, I’m just selling drinks," Xin Rou cried, tears streaming down like pear blossoms in the rain.
"It doesn’t matter what you’re selling, just be obedient and the brothers won’t treat you unfairly."
The men once again closed in with laughter, starting to get handsy.
Liang Zheng was enjoying the show, when suddenly a figure flashed past him.
Then, one of the men was kicked and sent flying out.
Before the others could react and fight back, they too were taken down swiftly and brutally.
The assailant was fierce and fast; they had no time to respond.
It wasn’t until then that a few security guards rushed over and dragged the troublemakers out.
Xin Rou, terrified, sat slumped against the wall, staring blankly at everything in front of her.
It wasn’t until a hand was offered to her that she snapped out of her daze.
Following the hand upward, she looked into a face enchanting enough to mesmerize anyone, in the dimly lit corridor, it was covered with an icy chill.
"Mr. Fu."
Xin Rou was frightened and happy at once.
She quickly grasped Fu Xingzhou’s hand to stand up, her tear-streaked face full of gratitude and grievance, "Mr. Fu, thank you."
The man’s hand was broad and warm, his fingers long and handsome, and being held in his palm brought her a full sense of security.
Fu Xingzhou took off his coat and draped it over her, then turned and commanded the staff, "Take her to change clothes."
The staff hurriedly escorted Xin Rou away.
Since Fu Xingzhou had stepped in to take care of the matter, Tang Jingyao and his companions couldn’t continue to spectate.
Fu Xingzhou gave him a glance, "Are the waitresses in your club meant to be harassed at will?"
Tang Jingyao was also feeling a bit annoyed at this point, so he called the manager over.
"It was my neglect, please punish me, Mr. Tang," the manager said, sweating profusely.
In Tang Jingyao’s domain, no one dared to cause trouble, even male and female wait staff were treated with more respect than elsewhere.
Waitresses are waitresses, not drinking companions; if they are harassed, the club will protect them.
Today’s situation had not occurred for quite some time.
"Dock three months of your bonus, the year-end bonus will depend on your performance."
The punishment was not severe, and the manager was grateful to Mr. Tang Jingyao for his leniency.
"When did that waitress start working here?" Tang Jingyao found Xin Rou’s presence in the club curious as well, and turned to seek confirmation from Liang Zheng.
Liang Zheng hastily gestured with his hands, "I haven’t been in touch with her recently; who knows how she ended up here."
Having been sent off by Fu Xingzhou to a holiday resort as a punishment was enough to teach him a lesson; he dared not make any more decisions on his own.
"Ask her when she arrives," Liang Zheng couldn’t wait to disassociate himself from her immediately.
Xin Rou changed her clothes and walked over, stopping to bow before Fu Xingzhou, "Thank you, Mr. Fu, for stepping in to help just now, Xin Rou is extremely grateful."
As she bowed her head, a few strands of hair fell across her forehead, revealing a high nose bridge and deep-set eyes.
From this angle, she bore a striking resemblance to Ye Yan, about seventy to eighty percent.
Fu Xingzhou’s eyes flickered with a hint of reverie; the person before him seemed to merge with the one in his memory.
Xin Rou lifted her head, blinking her doe-like eyes at Fu Xingzhou.
Though there was some resemblance, they were ultimately two different people with different demeanors; looking at her face directly, she didn’t resemble Ye Yan as much.
A sudden irritation surged within Fu Xingzhou’s heart, and just as he was about to turn away, the girl in front of him suddenly flashed him a sweet smile.
That smile threw Fu Xingzhou’s heart into disarray once again.
In countless dreams, he had seen her face, and in her eyes, there was only hate.
Such hatred was like a knife slowly torturing him, causing him unbearable pain in every dream that featured her.
Now, as she smiled at him, it was a scene he had longed to witness many times over.
Deep within his heart, it felt as though he had received some comfort.
"Let her serve in our private room."
Fu Xingzhou turned and left.
Hearing his words, Xin Rou’s heart thrilled with ecstasy.
During her prior encounter at the casino, when Liang Zheng introduced her to Fu Xingzhou, all she received from him was a heartless "Scram."
Yet today, not only had he interceded on her behalf, but he had also personally requested her service in his private room.
The manager urged her, "Stop dazing; aren’t you going to open the wine bottles?"
Usually, only waitresses with certain qualifications in the club could serve in such a private room; a newcomer like Xin Rou was certainly not qualified.
"I’m on it."
Just as Xin Rou was about to leave, the manager called her back.
The manager gave her a lengthy list of instructions, worried that she might offend the few important guests inside.
"Got all that?"
"I remember everything, don’t worry, I won’t make any mistakes," Xin Rou assured the manager.
Pleased, the manager waved her off.
Xin Rou was incredibly fortunate; after just a few days of working at the club, she had caught Mr. Fu’s eye.
If she performed well and was shrewd enough, wouldn’t she have numerous opportunities to rise rapidly?
Inside the private room, Fu Xingzhou was smoking.
After escorting Meng Tian away, Tang Jingyao sat down beside him, "Mr. Fu is actually meddling in others’ affairs now."
Ignoring his teasing, Fu Xingzhou slowly exhaled a ring of smoke, his gaze deep, indicating he was lost in thought.
"Weren’t you the one who told her to ’Scram’ last time? What made you unable to resist intervening today?"
"It’s nothing, just doing a good deed for the day," Fu Xingzhou flicked away the ash.
Yet, the image of that familiar face lingered in his mind.
