Chapter 151: Chapter 151:
Fu Xingzhou’s face darkened as he looked at Li Wanru, "What exactly is going on?"
Li Wanru, who had tried to bluff her way through Li Xiuze’s reprimand, only began to feel afraid when confronted with Fu Xingzhou’s imposing presence.
She had been pampered since childhood, with her brothers all showing her great affection.
No one had ever spoken to her in this tone or with such a look.
"It was Ye Yan. She had me put on the same clothes as hers and wait in the bathroom. Then she took the opportunity to switch identities. She said she had a way to hold you off, and as long as I sat with my back to the bodyguards at a distance, they wouldn’t see through it," Li Wanru’s voice grew smaller and smaller, "It’s not my fault, I was bewitched by her, all of it was her planning."
"I’ll settle accounts with you later."
Fu Xingzhou didn’t want to waste time on her. What mattered now was finding Ye Yan.
This place was a ravine, with only one way out of the mountain and he had already set up guards at the entrance and along the road.
If she took the regular path, Ye Yan couldn’t possibly evade those under surveillance.
Fu Xingzhou tapped his still somewhat groggy head; she had drugged his wine with a sleeping pill and then engaged intimately with him, which maximized the drug’s effect.
If he hadn’t fallen asleep, he wouldn’t have let her leave so easily.
"Give me a map of the resort."
The butler immediately brought the map, "Sir, we’ve checked the cameras on the road and haven’t spotted madam."
"She wouldn’t take the main road."
Ye Yan wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble just to be found so easily. If she intended to leave, she would definitely find another way.
"Is this bridge repaired?" Fu Xingzhou suddenly pointed to a certain place on the map.
This bridge served as a link between the horse farm and the Hunting Ground.
It had still been under construction when the Hunting Ground wasn’t yet completed.
"It’s been built," the butler hastily replied, "but there’s a wire fence beside the bridge."
"A wire fence can stop animals but not necessarily people," Fu Xingzhou followed the route upwards, "If she crossed the bridge and entered the Hunting Ground, she could get through here."
The butler’s face went pale, "Just today, we released a batch of wild boars and deer into the Hunting Ground. It would be too dangerous for madam if she went in alone."
"Wild boars and deer?" Fu Xingzhou grabbed the butler’s collar urgently, "Why wasn’t I informed about this?"
"Such matters are always handled by the Hunting Ground. You usually don’t inquire about them."
Chen Yiren mainly invested in the Hunting Ground. Though Fu Xingzhou cooperated with him, he generally didn’t interfere with its operations; releasing animals, a trivial matter, certainly didn’t need to be reported to him.
Coincidentally, this batch of animals had been released right as Ye Yan headed towards the Hunting Ground.
Those wild boars, each one ferocious, had been specifically bred in the mountains to meet the future needs of hunters.
An ordinary person without any weapons would stand no chance against them.
"Gather everyone immediately to the Hunting Ground. Bring hunting rifles, tranquilizer guns."

Ye Yan took out a flashlight from her backpack and quickly crossed the large bridge in front of her.
The last time she had been here, the bridge was still unfinished, flanked by warning signs.
There was no time to admire the grandeur of the bridge. Accompanied by the sound of streaming water below, the Hunting Ground on the other side was within reach.
She had been studying the resort’s map for days, and she finally found a way through the Hunting Ground to reach a wind power station directly.
Once she reached the power station, there would be a way back to the city center.
She had learned from the butler earlier that the Hunting Ground had not yet opened to the public and only housed small animals like rabbits and pheasants. Therefore, even at night, there shouldn’t be any danger.
Yet, walking alone in the forest on a dark, windy night, with various strange calls occasionally ringing around her, Ye Yan still felt a sense of terror.
The flashlight was bright enough, but she dared not move too quickly, always carefully looking for the path to navigate through.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the towering wind turbines of the wind power station gradually became visible up ahead, standing like imposing giants in the night.
It was as if she saw hope, and Ye Yan subconsciously quickened her steps.
Rustle!
Suddenly, from the bushes ahead came a noise, as if something was slowly approaching.
Rustle rustle!
The sound got closer and closer, mixed with the heavy pants of an animal.
On high alert, Ye Yan stopped in her tracks and shone her flashlight into the bushes.
Under the light, a pair of glaring, green eyes stared at her unblinkingly, the bright light reflecting off a pair of sharp, menacing tusks.
Ye Yan was so scared she almost fell to the ground.
The butler had clearly stated that there were only pheasants and rabbits here. Why was there a wild boar?
This wild boar was massive, weighing at least 100 kilograms, its eyes glinting with unmatched ferocity.
Human and boar thus stared each other down in a silent standoff.
The wild boar did not recklessly attack; it seemed to be sizing up its opponent’s strength and weakness.
Ye Yan also didn’t dare to move rashly, for fear that it would suddenly pounce.
Her gaze swept the surroundings and she spotted a gentle slope not far away. If she could climb up there, she could probably evade the boar’s assault.
But could she outrun the boar?
Ye Yan tried to stay calm and, amidst the low grunts of the boar, her right hand slowly moved towards the backpack behind her.
Walking at night required self-defense, so she had brought a sharp fruit knife.
Just as her hand reached into the backpack, the boar suddenly scraped the ground with its forehooves and launched an aggressive attack.
Without hesitation, Ye Yan turned and ran for the slope.
Running through the grass, she was clearly slower than the wild boar, and just as it was about to catch up, Ye Yan reached out both hands to grab the slope’s edge and vigorously kicked her legs up.
A sharp pain shot through her ankle; the boar had bitten onto her heel.
While pulling at her leg, the boar let out terrifying grunts.
Ye Yan’s grip loosened, and she fell from the slope; the boar, having succeeded, immediately began dragging her away.
The pain in her leg intensified, as if the animal’s sharp teeth were about to sever her bones. Cold sweat broke out on Ye Yan’s forehead. Biting back the pain, she pulled herself up from the ground and also found the dagger in her bag.
Beneath the moonlight, the dagger glinted ominously as she forcefully stabbed it into the wild boar’s eye.
A scream of agony, blood splattered everywhere.
After pulling the knife out, Ye Yan lunged again, this time aiming for the boar’s neck.
The blade struck true, severing the boar’s artery. More blood sprayed out, covering her face.
Without time to wipe the blood from her face, Ye Yan quickly pulled her leg free.
Two large gashes, gushing blood, had been bitten into her foot.
She found a piece of clothing in her bag, cut a piece off with the dagger, first staunching her own bleeding, then wrapping the wound tightly.
Supporting herself to stand, the moment her injured foot touched the ground, pain surged, bringing tears to her eyes.
With such an injury, she likely wouldn’t make it out of this forest.
Just as Ye Yan succumbed to annoyance, something even more despair-inducing happened.
From the nearby bushes, more and more rustling sounds emerged.
In the darkness, several pairs of eyes looked ominously at her, as if she were prey ready for the taking.
