After Irving returned to our side and shifted into her cat form, so did Fireball. He shifted to his cat form too, before both he and Irving jumped into my arms.

I did not expect them to jump in my arms. Though I didn’t complain.

I left the hiding spot with them. I was wondering why we had to stay hidden there. That was until I realized that there were CCTV footage cameras in many parts of the hotel except the place we had stayed.

Also, it would be terrifying for humans if they witnessed other shapeshifters that were not werewolves. I think?

We returned to the hotel room and I found it really strange that the door was opened. What could this mean?

’What is wrong?’. My wolf, Leon, asked me, and exactly at that moment, I sensed Sir Damien’s presence and hurried into the hotel room, shutting the door behind me.

Sir Damien’s back was turned towards me. It was afterward that he turned around and faced me. "Caught you". He said with a cold face, confusing me.

He pointed at Fireball and Irving, whom I was carrying in my arms. "Aren’t you tired of being cats? Return to your human forms at once, let’s have a proper conversation".

"Eh?!". I gasped and shut my mouth immediately. But beads of sweat were already sliding down my temples.

’How did he know that Fireball and Irving weren’t really cats?!’. I wondered.

"Return to your human forms now that I am being nice. You won’t like me when I get grumpy". Sir Damien warned Fireball and Irving and took a step closer to me, while I backed away because I didn’t know what else to do.

But he has repeatedly said that Fireball and Irving should return to their human forms. Does that mean he thinks that the human forms are their true forms?

That’s it. He has no idea that their true forms are dragons.

Fireball and Irving jumped down from my arms. The second they landed perfectly on the floor, they shifted into human forms.

They shifted into the same beautiful dark-skinned lady with long white hair and dark green eyes, and the same handsome dark-skinned guy with long black hair and red eyes.

Fireball cracked his neck, before he wrapped his arms around his stomach and stared directly into Sir Damien’s eyes without a hint of fear. "Oho. Isn’t it Damien? I can tell you one thing for sure. You also won’t like me if I get grumpy". He said. His voice was deep.

Without doubt, I knew he had deepened his voice on purpose.

For a second, I grew cautious because I felt that Fireball and Sir Damien were about to crash with each other.

That was until Fireball suddenly began to sniff something in the air.

"I can sense my mama. Her presence is weak, but it’s definitely her!". Fireball exclaimed and ran past Sir Damien before Sir Damien could grab him back.

Irving went after Fireball.

Sir Damien frowned upon staring at me. I almost felt my soul leaving me.

"I will get back to you soon. I expect you to give me an explanation by then". He said to me and left the living room, going after Fireball and Irving.

I finally breathed heavily after Sir Damien left. When he was present, I was withholding some of my breath.

For some strange reasons, I always felt nervous around Sir Damien compared to Alpha Anastasia, who was truly more terrifying than him.

The doorbell of the hotel room rang, and I went to open the door, since I didn’t sense any dark energy.

My eyes lightened up as I saw that it was the room service server.

"Please come in". I said to her in a hurry, and she pushed the room service trolley into the living room.

After setting the food on the table, she left, and I went to make sure that the door was closed.

Then, I hurried back and sat in front of the table and began to eat.

I didn’t know what was currently happening between Fireball, Irving and Sir Damien. But even if I wanted to know what was happening between them, I would prefer it if my stomach was filled to its satisfaction first.

Beta Damien’s pov,

I ran after the young man and the young lady.

They entered Alpha Anastasia’s bedroom, and I also did the same.

I halted upon arriving inside the bedroom and saw them kneeling before the bedside and holding Alpha Anastasia’s hands.

"What - what happened to you, mama? Why does your presence feel so weak and faint? I am sorry. After you teleported, Irving and I should have gone after you sooner and found you". The young man said, and, was that tears I saw escaping from his eyes?

Earlier, he was fierce when he was facing me. But now that he was in the presence of Alpha Anastasia, he was behaving like a completely different person.

Just like I had expected, Alpha Anastasia knew that her cats were truly humans who could shapeshift into cats. That was why she told me at that time that I hallucinated.

But it hurts me to know that Anders knew about this secret before me.

Am I not trustworthy compared to a teenage stranger whom she recently found a day or three days ago?

’These cat shifters belong to Alpha Anastasia and I don’t think they would hurt her. I have to go and clear my head, Darren’. I said to him and left the bedroom. I was beyond disappointed. I felt betrayed and stabbed in the back.

As I returned to the living room, I saw Anders eating. Though he stopped as he saw me. But, I didn’t care about him and left the hotel room.

I have never felt so hurt before.

Oh, yeah. I remember.

I felt hurt so much when I learned about Doctor Clara’s death and after Alpha Ashton and Luna Allegra died.

And I had felt so much hurt in the past when the universe and fate decided to play a joke with me. Or was it the moon goddess who decided to play a joke with me?

It is my nature to be cold because I am a lone wolf and don’t know how to express myself to others.

But, that didn’t mean that I wasn’t looking forward to finding and having a fated mate of my own, only to be stabbed in the back.

I finally found my fated mate back then, but she had already had her way with Alpha Ashton. That was the worst pain I had ever experienced. It was so painful that I felt my heart tearing into pieces from within.
