Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Bitten by a Little Wild Cat...
Adrian Davies looked at the woman, smiling brightly, and raised his hand to hold her face, "The consequence of defying me will be very miserable!"
After speaking, he forcefully pressed down on her lips. Melody Parker was in too much pain to dodge, so she directly opened her mouth and bit his finger.
"Hiss!"
The man’s eyes darkened slightly as he looked at the girl who was like a rose with thorns. He finally let her go and turned to leave the room.
After the man left, feeling a lingering pain where Melody Parker had bitten his finger, his lips curled into a slight smile.
Melody Parker stood there, still shaken. She lightly touched her lips, feeling intense pain.
Was that man a dog or something, actually biting her until she bled?
Damn bastard, it hurts so much.
Melody Parker walked out of the room. She really wanted to just turn around and leave, to return to her cozy little apartment.
But she couldn’t go back yet.
Her phone and bag were still in the room. She had to get her things back first.
Besides, she always faced challenges head-on. Since when had she ever been bullied and cowered away, chickening out?
Hmm, it’s just a bite. What’s the big deal?
Melody Parker mentally prepared herself, endured the pain at the corner of her lips, and left the room.
She lifted her head, glanced at that room, and curled her lips into a smirk, confidently striding back to Malcom Moore’s exclusive room.
A minute earlier, Adrian had let Melody go, as if nothing had happened, and returned to the room to continue drinking.
Seeing Adrian return, the slightly drunk Malcom immediately asked, "Adrian, where did you go? Leaving me here alone?"
Adrian couldn’t be bothered with Malcom, who looked like a resentful woman, and took a sip from his own glass.
The next moment, his gaze fell straight onto the finger Melody had bitten.
There were several small, adorable bite marks left there.
As he looked, the cold and indifferent corners of his mouth unexpectedly turned up slightly, spreading a hint of a smile.
Malcom rubbed his bleary eyes incredulously as he looked at Adrian, "Adrian, what are you smiling at?"
Adrian ignored him, and Malcom continued, "Oh my god, unbelievable! Our young master Davies, the millennium ice mountain, actually smiled! Is the sun rising from the west now, or is the Yellow River flowing backwards, or are stars colliding with the earth?"
Adrian continued to ignore Malcom.
Malcom held his glass and leaned closer to Adrian.
He then noticed Adrian staring at his own hand.
Upon seeing the suspicious marks on Adrian’s finger, Malcom excitedly grabbed Adrian’s arm and, with a gossipy look, asked, "Adrian, what happened to your hand?"
Adrian frowned, removed Malcom’s hand from his shoulder, and coldly said, "A wildcat bit me."
"A wildcat?" Malcom looked doubtful and placed his arm back on Adrian’s shoulder again, "This is a bar, a place where city dwellers come to party. Who brings a pet cat here? Adrian, don’t think I’m so easy to fool just because I’m drunk! Tell me quickly, what exactly happened?"
Adrian gave Malcom a cold glance, maintaining his tone, "Bitten by a cat that doesn’t know what’s good for it."
"Sigh, Adrian, you can’t be like this! We’re brothers, you know? How can you not tell me anything?!"
Malcom didn’t believe him, indignantly said, and then continued to ask with a gossipy smile, "Adrian, come on, tell me, what kind of little wildcat did you encounter?"
Then, with a brain muddled by alcohol, Malcom mumbled, "Wait, aren’t you the one who’s sick and can’t..."
Before Malcom could finish his sentence, the door of the room was pushed open by Melody Parker, who came back from outside.
Seeing Melody, Malcom immediately withdrew his arm from Adrian’s shoulder and shifted from the spot near Adrian to his original seat.
At the same time, Malcom, with a face full of glee, waved to Melody, "Melody, why did you take so long? Come, sit by my side."
As Melody pushed open the suite door, she immediately noticed the man drinking alone with Malcom.
He sat there with a darkened expression, appearing aloof like someone owed him millions, looking displeased and impatient.
Seeing his face, Melody felt irritated.
He bit her, yet he was the one sulking here!
Before Melody could think further, Malcom’s voice inviting her to sit came through.
"Ran into an acquaintance, exchanged a few words." Melody replied to Malcom’s question as she lifted her foot, preparing to walk over to Malcom.
But just as she raised her foot, she caught the man’s sharp look directed at her.
The man’s gaze was exceptionally piercing, as if it was an ice-tipped knife.
Melody originally intended to ignore it and continue walking towards Malcom with her graceful long legs.
Suddenly, she recalled the man’s previous words: Stay away from Malcom!
The spot on her lips where the man had bitten still throbbed with pain.
It reminded her that provoking this explosive lion at the moment probably wasn’t wise.
Forget it; discretion is the better part of valor.
Melody paused, changed direction, and walked to where Adrian was, gathering her phone and bag.
Then, she looked at Malcom, wearing a polite smile, and bade him farewell, "Young Master Morris, it’s already very late. I won’t be staying here with you. I’ll head back first."
Malcom raised an eyebrow, reluctant to let Melody leave, "Melody, why are you going back so early? You don’t have a boyfriend, and no one is waiting for you at home!"
Melody: Funnily enough, there is someone waiting for her at home.
But she couldn’t let young Benjamin be exposed to others, so she couldn’t say that.
Melody smiled and said, "Young Master Morris, even without a boyfriend, I should go back."
Hearing Melody insist on leaving, Malcom instantly became displeased, "Melody, I’m about to marry your best friend. Can’t you comfort my wounded little soul?"
Melody: "..."
Malcom took a large swig of his drink and continued with a slurred tongue, "Melody, you should... tell your friend that no matter what, I, Malcom Moore, will treat her well... uh, and won’t let her suffer."
"Haha..." Melody chuckled lightly, "Young Master Morris, I think you’re truly drunk. You should just go back and get some rest."
Malcom shook his head, "No, Melody, I’m not drunk, I’m very sober! You... tell your friend that regardless of whether I marry her or not, I won’t neglect her! I... will take care of her for life, making sure she has no worries about food or clothing."
Melody didn’t refute Malcom’s words, "Young Master Morris, let’s discuss your marriage with Luna another time. I have something to do, so I’m leaving first."
