Chapter 48 - 48 48 The Pay-to-Win Dean and the Dual-Blade Dragon

48: Chapter 48: The Pay-to-Win Dean and the Dual-Blade Dragon 48: Chapter 48: The Pay-to-Win Dean and the Dual-Blade Dragon Under the summoning of the Pillar of Flame from Xabasang, an endless horde of demons rushed frantically toward us.

Although the Hell Demons mostly fought amongst their own tribes, they were still remarkably unified when facing outsiders.

“Summon the Dragon of the Sky!” The elder took out his sword and shield from the Space Ring.

The mere act of pulling out these weapons made them radiate a blinding brilliance, which it took quite a while for onlookers to adjust to.

Taking another look at the elder’s weapons, holy moly, they were completely gold with diamonds!

How rich does one have to be?!

The sword and shield set were clearly something only a tycoon could afford, with each material used costing no less than ten thousand Gold, no wonder they could shine with such a blinding pay-to-win radiance.

At the elder’s call, a claw rent the air, followed by a massive dragon’s head emerging from a spatial rift.

The white dragon looked around in disgust, “Damn it, how did you end up in a place like this?”

“Just got some urgent business, come over here and chop some people—oh no, I mean demons,” the elder signaled the white dragon still partially concealed within the spatial rift to come over.

“No way!

I’m going next door to flirt with a chick.

Today that Golden Dragon sister promised to count the moons with me, I’m not going,” the white dragon said, ready to withdraw its claw propping open the spatial rift and head back.

“Do you believe if I went back and told the Golden Dragon that you were peeping at her bathing?!” The elder quickly changed his tone and threatened.

“Fuck!

We had a deal, you can’t talk about that!” The white dragon’s expression changed dramatically, giving the elder a pathetic look.

“Just this once, the last time.

Come help me; there are too many demons here for me to kill alone,” the elder said helplessly as he gazed at the dense demon army on the distant horizon.

“The last time, the last time.

How many times has it been already?

If you hadn’t caught me peeking at her bathing before, I swear I would never have signed a contract with you!” The white dragon, stuck in a predicament, begrudgingly emerged from the spatial rift, its full form finally visible.

This was also a tycoon dragon, its pure white body studded with countless shiny anti-magic gems.

Each of these high-quality gems was priced at several ten thousand Gold.

How many gems would it take to decorate such a thirty-meter-long, over ten-meter-high dragon?

“Hey, aren’t you afraid the Demon Lord might suddenly show up when you’re killing so recklessly in hell?” the white dragon asked with annoyance, obviously cherishing its own life since it had that Golden Dragon sister waiting for it back home.

“Don’t worry, even if the Demon Lord wanted to cross over, there would be signs, right?

When that happens, just slash through a spatial rift and escape,” the elder seemed well-prepared, not afraid of any high-level demon’s arrival.

Hearing this, the white dragon’s face turned uglier than death, “I only have two of those Cross-realm Breakthrough Runes, can you not waste them?”

“What’s more important than life?

Money or life, what do you say?” the elder laughed.

“It’s easy for you to say when it’s not your money!” The dragon roared, it seemed the elder had been shearing its wool quite often.

“Let’s make it quick then.

Let’s settle this before the high-level demons spot something fishy.” The elder was actually quite certain that high-level demons wouldn’t descend upon them.

Or maybe they were already here, just not willing to make a move on them.

“Fine, fine, you’ve conned me into it anyway.

But please, call on me less in the future.

Every time you have me do a task, it’s delaying my life’s great matters.

Don’t you want to be a godfather?” the white dragon murmured as it casually drew through the air with its huge fingertip, wrapping itself with Space Magic.

This wrap was a Third Transition high-level skill, and only those proficient in space magic could learn it.

This skill perfectly replaced the existence of the Space Ring, albeit with limited capacity.

It couldn’t hold all the white dragon’s treasure; otherwise, the elder wouldn’t have been able to con so much from it.

“Quick, quick, time for the main event,” the elder urged as the demon army drew closer.

“Yes, yes, yes, I’m just a working stiff—and the kind that pays out of pocket, no less,” the white dragon grumbled, reaching into its magic wrap and pulling out two forty-meter-long great cleavers.

Yes, forty-meter-long great cleavers.

Like when the elder took out his weapons, the pay-to-win brilliance almost blinded the demons in the distance.

Fuck!

Although they didn’t know what the other side was wielding, the demons were enraged beyond words, envying and resenting these unfamiliar items.

“Let’s chop some demons!” the elder, wielding sword and shield, charged ahead, and the white dragon soared into the sky, a step faster.

With each thrust from the dragon, the forty-meter-long cleavers proved incredibly ferocious, slicing through demons as easily as chopping vegetables.

With each swing, at least hundreds of demons perished.

And the elder, shield raised high, the white dragon, understanding his intent, breathed out a puff of dragon breath onto the shield, which not only didn’t harm the elder but turned into tangible armor, safely protecting him within.

The elder didn’t even need to act, as the demons that attacked were incinerated by the scorching dragon breath before even reaching him.

“This isn’t enough!” Although they were quickly slaughtering the demons, the massive numbers of the demon army meant their line of defense could easily be breached.

“Holy Dragon!” The elder raised his hand holding the gold-charged treasure sword, and the white dragon took the opportunity to strike with a blast of dragon breath while people were being chopped.

Under the combined boost of Holy Light and the dragon’s breath, a powerful pressure arose, causing dread in the hearts of demons and even slowing their charge towards the pillar of flames.

“Judgment!” With the release of the skill, a dragon’s cry resounded through heaven and earth.

The elder’s gold-charged treasure sword flew through the air, the power of Holy Light burst forth suddenly, and the white Sword Qi surged for a thousand miles, cutting the once lively demon army in half at the waist, leaving behind pitiful corpses.

“Why didn’t you use that move earlier?

It would’ve saved me the trouble of drawing my sword,” the white dragon remarked, swishing its massive cleaver effortlessly without a drop of blood staining it.

“Huff, huff…” The elder gasped for breath, “Don’t you think that move is a bit too hard on the weapons?” No sooner had he spoken than the gold-charged treasure sword in his hand snapped in response.

The white dragon’s expression stiffened, filled with regret as it shouted, “Who asked you to use that?

Who told you to?

Now I have to fetch you another weapon!

Do you know how expensive that is?

You wasteful thing!”

“Alright, alright, I’ll try to summon a God-given weapon as soon as possible, okay?” The elder quickly tried to console.

“That’s what you said last time,” the white dragon replied with a mournful face, truly stuck by his hand.

“Hey, hey, there’s another group of demons heading over there, go chop them up,” the elder pointed to another group of demons rushing towards the pillar of fire.

“Alright, alright, I’m on it,” the white dragon spread its wings and soared into the sky, its two forty-meter-long massive cleavers drawing everyone’s attention.

A dragon that loves wielding swords to chop things, quite peculiar indeed!

Meanwhile, on the far side of hell, thousands of high-level demons were watching the entire process of the elder slaughtering the demons through a precious item called the Eye of Hell.

“Even though low-level demons are nothing more than cannon fodder, it still bothers me,” one high-ranking demon took a puff from something akin to a cigar and exhaled a ring of smoke indifferently.

“Hey, Draculade, can you smoke less?

It’s choking me,” another high-ranking female demon complained.

“What’s the matter, if you’re unhappy you can leave.

I didn’t invite you to stay here,” Draculade, adorned with two ram’s horns and devilishly handsome, replied nonchalantly.

“Are you looking for a fight?” the female demon snapped angrily.

“No problem at all, let’s step outside and have it out, make it hurt,” Draculade retorted, not the least bit intimidated.

“Fine, then let’s go practice!”

“Practice it is!”

Just as the male and female high-ranking demons caused a commotion and were preparing to leave in broad daylight, the leader of the demons suddenly spoke up and scolded, “Enough!

Do you think I don’t know what you’re up to?

Stay here and behave!”

Reprimanded by the boss, the two demons awkwardly chuckled and hurriedly approached the boss, massaging his shoulders and knocking his legs, all eager to please.

“Boss, calm down, calm down.

We just can’t stand the way those humans are acting.

We wanted an excuse to go out and teach them a lesson,” Draculade quickly explained.

“Hmph!” The boss huffed coldly, fully aware of their little tricks.

That female demon always hung around with Draculade; how could she possibly mind his smoke?

“That’s right, boss.

Look how ruthlessly the humans are killing.

If we don’t go out and teach them a lesson, they will think there’s no one in hell,” the female demon also chimed in to support.

“Enough!” The boss silenced their incessant chatter, “Archimonde the Great Lord has already made it clear when we came here that these low-level demons are just sacrificial toys, their life and death need not concern us.

Just don’t reveal our cross-dimensional trace.”

“Boss, as soon as we step in, that human and that irritatingly large dragon won’t stand a chance, and it won’t reveal us!” Draculade persisted.

“Let them go, boss,” the other high-ranking demons also spoke out, and upon closer examination, what a sight these handsome high-ranking demons were, indicating that the tales of the Hell Demon King’s cross-dimensional arrival were not merely legend.

“No!

Bear with it everyone!” The boss shouted again, quieting the commotion among the demons, “Did you think you can disobey the orders Archimonde has given?

My heart also aches for our slain offspring, but the mission is more important!

Who can bear the responsibility if Archimonde’s plans are disrupted?

You?

You?

Or you?”

Chastised by the boss, the demons hung their heads in shame, hiding their handsome faces from view.

“Hold your breath, everyone.

When the human army enters hell, then you can unleash your fury and shred all the invaders!”

Amidst the boss’s rage, a thousand high-ranking demons emitted a collective roar…
