Chapter 986: Chapter 986 Leisure Chapter 986: Chapter 986 Leisure The few people at the graveyard were so anxious, but because it was a small team, and Li Yao and his party were still in combat, so they couldn’t even go find the bodies.
All they could do was type in the team channel from the graveyard, but Dandan, Xia and the rest were all busy fighting the boss.
They kept asking what was going on and at first, Xiao Mao would reply, but later she simply ignored them, just like Li Yao did, pretending she couldn’t see.
Damn it, we’ve already said we’re killing the boss, so why do you keep asking and asking and asking? It’s so annoying.
Little did they know, the ones in the graveyard were feeling like years were passing by. They knew the team was fighting a boss, but as far as they were concerned, it was impossible.
When the team was at full strength they couldn’t do it, so how on earth were the few remaining, without a main tank, supposed to beat the boss?
And could you act a little more convincingly? Fighting a boss–in the face of so many fallen demons, constantly at full health without even a fluctuation. You’re not fighting a boss; you must be hiding somewhere playing cards.
But they had no choice; leaving the team would mean even greater experience loss, so they wouldn’t leave the team.
Now was the final push to level forty, everyone was sprinting, and experience was just too precious.
So, they could only wait.
Meanwhile, the few people at the fallen demon gathering point were very busy, well, except Li Yao. At first, Li Yao was still marking the fallen demon wizards.
But then he got fed up and simply told the others to coordinate their fire while he helped himself to a bar stool and began sipping on the finest beverages of the ancient gods, not even bothering to take out the scrolls needed for Corpse Explosion anymore.
The three girls rolled their eyes incessantly. What kind of leveling service was this?
But they craved that first kill, so they had no choice but to grind away.
“Hmm, Bing Yu’s archery is solid; she must like playing with crossbows in real life. However, it lacks finesse–too rigid, without variety, not nimble enough,” Li Yao said as he sipped his drink and commented on their performance.
Complaints about healing spell handprints not being precise enough to increase speed by a fraction of a second, and incantations that if smoothed out could boost damage by a few percent, left Xiao Mao rolling her eyes. Damn it, that’s too irritating! It’s bad enough that you’re not helping, which we can tolerate.
We can even tolerate you drinking in front of us while we grind for that first kill, but then you make these snide remarks.
“Hey, hey, do you have any idea? Bing Yu’s archery is even better than the hunters in our studio can manage, and it’s good enough for a professional, unlike you, who only wears weapons for show,” Xiao Mao couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Shut it, girl,” surprisingly, Bing Yu not only didn’t appreciate it, but she turned to Li Yao seriously and asked, “How should I practice?”
Perhaps feeling that Bing Yu spoke a bit harshly, Dandan Xia quickly said, “Xiao Yu has been practicing moving targets, but it doesn’t seem to help much. Do you have any suggestions?”
Xiao Mao looked at them incredulously: “Hey, hey, are you two out of your minds? He’s been making fun of us, you know.”
“Xiao Mao, listen to me, think about what Hunter said, and if you get it, your skills will definitely improve by more than a notch,” Dandan Xia continued, “Hunter’s words have benefited me a lot, so please give Bing Yu some advice.”
Li Yao nodded, “It seems there are those who know their stuff. If it weren’t for the sheer amount of gold coins you’ve spent, I wouldn’t be bothered to speak up. Archery in the ancient gods requires not just practice with moving targets. The targets move, but you don’t. But in the battles of the ancient gods, you often need to strafe and shoot at the same time. Bing Yu obviously has put in effort into practicing archery. It’s worth encouraging someone who works so hard, so I will tell you one method, but it requires perseverance. As for those who don’t appreciate, I’ll save my breath.”
“Psh, as if I cared,” Xiao Mao saw them taking it seriously and thought back to what Li Yao had said earlier. She tried applying his advice and indeed saw some improvement, which made her somewhat regret her attitude, yet she was too proud to admit it.
“Are you suggesting practicing inside the ancient gods?” Bing Yu asked.
“Now that you’re level thirty-eight, I remember there’s a Dusty Mud Bay near the Monastery, where there are mosquitoes as big as fists. However, these mosquitoes are incredibly fast, and getting poisoned by them is extremely uncomfortable and painful, so basically no one comes here to level up–it’s quite a quiet place. You can go there alone to level up, kill the mosquitoes, and when you’re past level forty, I’ll recommend other places for you. But let me warn you, with your current skills, if you’re not careful, you could end up dying and losing levels–don’t blame me if that happens.”
“I’ve got it,” Bing Yu replied, always concise.
Seeing Li Yao’s indifferent demeanor, the mystery about him deepened even further.
And so, two hours passed, and nearly all the Lost Demons had been wiped out.
“Where’s the boss?” The Lost Demons were gone, but not even the boss was in sight.
“The boss last attacked five minutes ago, it’s definitely nearby.”
“Let’s do this, we’ll split up and search. You take the east, and I’ll head west,” Li Yao suggested.
“You’re on your own, are you sure you can handle it? Don’t joke around, okay? You have no combat experience,” Little Cat said, doubtful.
“Let’s just do it this way,” Li Yao said, too lazy to explain and turned to leave directly.
“Let’s go this way,” said Tranquil Summer, seemingly not too worried.
“Hmm,” Bing Yu responded, spreading his palm. A mechanical bee-like creature took off and flew above Li Yao’s head.
Tranquil Summer cracked a smile as the three of them began to search for the boss in the town, following the pet.
Meanwhile, Li Yao gripped his crossbow and started releasing Sonic Arrows to scout.
Occasional stray Lost Demons were quickly dispatched by Li Yao without even breaking his stride.
“How’s it going?” Tranquil Summer asked, looking at the image shared by Bing Yu.
“He’s strong, stronger than me,” Bing Yu admitted, searching for the boss but also keeping an eye on the footage from the mechanical bee.
“How much stronger?” Tranquil Summer continued in a private chat.
“Hard to say, but his archery is a lot better than mine. Look, he uses two crossbows at the same time, with such a rapid rate of fire and impeccable accuracy. Every arrow hits a vital spot, almost at the same point. You have to realize, he’s moving, the Lost Demons are moving, and he’s attacking in different directions with two crossbows. Most crossbow users are from the Hunter series and focus on a Firepower Torrent–basically spraying without precise aiming, which of course, is also hard to do. That’s one point. Another is, his attack power is very high, his equipment must be top-notch.”
“It’s not like you to say so much at once,” Tranquil Summer said, surprised.
“I just think that his method might really work. Even if I fall back to level thirty, I still want to practice there,” Bing Yu stated, a glint of determination in his eyes.
“This guy is too good at hiding his skills; it’s baffling,” Tranquil Summer mused, growing more puzzled.
Li Yao, who continued to use Sonic Arrows for scouting, had no idea a tiny mechanical bee hovered above him; he finally located the boss.
“You crafty thing, hiding in a cellar among wine barrels,” Li Yao muttered to himself, not having expected the boss to be so cowardly and cunning.
