Chapter 1364 - Chapter 1364 Chapter 1364 Slaughter
Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364: Slaughter Chapter 1364: Chapter 1364: Slaughter Fireworks saw the rogue’s invisible body also turn ethereal, and a new Holy Light Shield had already re-enveloped her figure, but her spell didn’t disappear. Instead, with the incantation, tendrils rose from the ground one by one.
The third rogue’s target was the newcomer, Mu Zi. When the rogue’s dagger touched Mu Zi, his body lit up with a fiery red glow.
With a burst of sound, the rogue’s figure was knocked away, flames igniting on his body–it was clear he had been inflicted with a burning status.
Mu Zi’s barrage of spells, including Flame Strike, kept bombarding the rogue who, in turn, reacted swiftly. As he was thrown back he used Shadow Cloak and disappeared, reentering a stealth state.
The fourth and fifth rogues targeted Li Yao, both attacking from different directions–one aiming for the back of Li Yao’s head and the other for his back.
“Die!”
Suddenly, Wings of Justice appeared behind Li Yao. As the Holy Light Wings sprang out, they forcefully repelled the two rogues, making them stagger back a step.
Swish, swish…
Li Yao flung two single-handed sickles with his backhand, which radiated a soul-chilling gloom.
Ting, ting…
The two rogues, quick to react, instinctively crossed their daggers to parry the eerie light upon being pushed back.
However, the rogues’ complexions changed at the same time. The force transmitted from the two sickles was terrifyingly powerful.
Their daggers were knocked from their hands in an instant. Filled with shock, the rogues’ already unsteady forms staggered even more under such formidable power. If not for their high balancing skills, they likely would have fallen to the ground.
But now, their palms were split, their arms numb, and it was at this moment that two more eerie lights lashed out.
Their bodies flew backward like rag dolls, each with a sickle lodged in their chests.
Being lightly armored, the rogues were naturally frail, and considering Li Yao’s growth–already capable of instantly slaying other players–let alone becoming a race-class leader, they estimated that presently, unless vital spots were hit and without using the power of Dragon Father, probably only defense-oriented elite jobs of leader-class could withstand a few of Li Yao’s attacks.
Mu Zi silently counted down the time, “Shadow Cloak’s effect has ended, let’s see where you can run now.”
His magic wand paused sharply, and countless sparks spread out from Mu Zi like sprites.
In the void, specks of light clung to the air.
Fireworks’ bewitching eyes took on one pitch-black and one pure white color, appearing especially eerie.
The five or six tendrils at her feet disappeared and reappeared under the second rogue’s feet. Just as the rogue struggled to cut the tendrils with his dagger, a gloomy light struck him square between the eyebrows. His body shook, then his dagger, shimmering with a toxin glow, swiftly plunged into his own throat.
The rogue collapsed immediately, his health dwindling to a sliver just as he broke free of Fireworks’ Mental Control, but by then awareness was too late. Clutching his throat, the rogue died.
Elsewhere, a sudden pillar of fire burst beneath the third rogue, blasting his body into the sky, then a Fire Bird made of flames dived down from the sky. As the rogue adjusted his falling posture, he was struck by the Fire Bird and crashed to the ground.
The combined damage of the fire pillar, Fire Bird, and high-altitude fall left the rogue in a crippled state. Mu Zi did not continue his attack; Dark Grey had already reached the rogue’s side, and the two Rune Ice Swords in his hands swiftly slashed into the weakened rogue, sweeping away his remaining health in one swoop.
From the “transplanting flowers and trees” maneuve to killing five thieves, the process may have seemed long, but many battles were happening simultaneously, and in reality, from inception to conclusion, it was only a matter of a dozen seconds or so.
The formations of the two sides charging at each other had already come extremely close, with the ranged professions having engaged in combat quite some time ago.
But among their fifteen people, the entire team of thieving assassins had been wiped out.
In a regular team, the Death Knight, Dragon Striker, and one healer would be dead, while the enchantress was currently attacking the second healer of the opposing team.
If the smoke bomb phase demonstrated Starfire’s excellent equipment and strategy, then the battle following the decomposition of the smoke bomb into elements exhibited Starfire’s formidable combat strength.
Especially the brief combat that elicited innumerable cheers; a small streamer broadcasting this battle saw his channel’s popularity skyrocket in an instant.
Even behind a mask, the allure of the enchantress was undeniable; her charm, without exposing a thread of skin, could trigger endless daydreams and fantasies.
After the pleasure for the eyes came an immense shock–to think that this team wasn’t a bunch of novices but the core team of Edward Guild, the world’s number one guild.
Moreover, they had been at an advantageous fifteen against ten and yet, in a blink of an eye, they found themselves at a disadvantage.
Especially the connoisseurs among them, who now elevated their wariness of the enchantress to new heights; before this moment they had considered Starfire to be most threatened only by Li Yao, and though they acknowledged the enchantress’s strength, they deemed it limited–but not anymore. The enchantress’s control over the battle had blended into the environment, as if she was fighting within her own domain.
The charging team suddenly hesitated, their movement stiff–not to mention their shift from advantage to disadvantage.
At the current juncture, they had lost one healer and had the other tied down.
This meant they had lost the capability for a sustained battle, while the opposing team still had a full lineup.
Therefore, they were now caught between a rock and a hard place; if they entangled themselves with the Starfire team, even if they managed to kill a few Starfire members, they would be wiped out in turn. And if they retreated to support their healer, it would be even more perilous, as they might not manage to take down a single opponent.
The leading warrior’s expression changed as he barked, “Advance, don’t retreat, focus fire and take down a few.”
“Kill!”
Six damage dealers roared, the ranged began releasing their ultimates like mad, while the melee launched a charge to break through Starfire’s close combat defense.
“Hold nothing back, kill,” Li Yao said as he blew his whistle again. The huge silhouette of a hydra appeared, looming at the rear of the team; its heads hung low like a barrier blocking the enemy’s ranged attacks.
Pop, pop, pop, pop…
Four totems were planted in the ground by Dondon, bringing forth leader-class wind, fire, earth, and water elementals.
Others also summoned their fighting companions, including the newcomer Mu Zi, whose partner was a Fire Bird General, which appeared to be made of magma and wielded a flaming great sword.
Fireworks’s companion was even more bizarre, one a projection of an Angel enveloped in Holy Light, and another a demon overlord clad in dragon armor wielding a Demon Rune Great Sword.
The two teams collided fiercely, embarking on a true slaughter…
