The advantage, however, was that these wasps were highly toxic, especially the stinger, which could be fired only once in a lifetime. A direct hit would almost certainly result in death by poisoning, or at the very least, severe weakening.

A wasp that had fired its stinger could survive for a maximum of three minutes and thereafter often chose to self-detonate against an opponent. The power of such self-detonation was comparable to that of a High-Explosive Bomb.

Even more so were the Corrosive Worms, which were quite small, about the size of a fist.

Their defining feature was the ability to secrete and spit a highly corrosive salivary mucilage, particularly effective against metals. Crucially, when these worms died, they split into a swarm of smaller worms. These worms could die and multiply up to three times, creating 10-20 new worms with each division of their body.

These were Li Yao’s secret weapons against the Iron Legion; these worms’ cost was comparably low to the hunters and Breakers.

Parasites were extremely minute members of the Worm Tribe, only the size of a fingertip. Their sole effect was to emit a dust that, upon entering through wounds into the central nervous system, corroded the spirit and induced a parasitic effect. Once lodged in the spirit, they could be controlled by the queen.

In fact, this was the one aspect of the Anh’Qiraj Worm Tribe most dreaded by all races because within the ranks of every race, there were those who had been parasitized, undetected.
