Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva -
Chapter 969 - 90: The Epiphany of Another Team of Adventurers_2
"Flame Spell!"
Prin stood on the high ground, her hands outstretched, channeling flames into a magnificent dragon that surged downward into the bandit ranks. A series of crimson flashes illuminated the chaos, and many bandits saw their 'life value' drain completely, forcing their retreat.
"Don't let them escape." Audrey strummed the strings of her lyre, encouraging her teammates with vigor.
On the other side, amidst the sea of flames, Shui Yanqing, Ores, and Tilan wielded sword, axe, and spear, forming a triangular assault formation.
The trio could cover each other, defending against enemies from all directions, making their combat highly effective. Against isolated foes, they swiftly ended the confrontation, greatly boosting their efficiency.
"These wretches!"
Atop the watchtower in the bandits' lair, their leader gripped his longbow, furious, and shot arrows toward the trio below.
A green radiance infused the bowstring as it vibrated, releasing an arrow that struck the leading girl, causing her shield's color to turn sharp red instantly.
"Danger!" Blanchi, behind them, reacted swiftly and raised her healing staff. A cascade of light fell, turning Ores's shield beside her into a bright yellow hue.
"An old acquaintance, huh?" The hunter following the group also raised his bow, targeting the enemy atop the watchtower.
Soon, under sustained attacks, the bandit leader's life value plummeted, and he dared not reveal himself further.
The trio ascended the tower shortly after, ready to deal with the final adversary.
"Please, don't kill me." He raised his hands in surrender.
"I can help you. Don't kill me yet." He added hastily.
"What kind of help?" Shui Yanqing picked up his bow.
"I can bring my men under your command and assist you." He claimed he had useful skills.
"Wouldn't that make us bandits too?" Ores frowned at the suggestion.
"Perhaps this is the beginning of a side quest." Tilan pondered aloud.
"What exactly can you do? Are you only good at pillaging?"
"Anything that lets us survive, really." The bandit leader was blunt.
"Can you build houses?" Tilan glanced at their facilities, noting how well-equipped they were.
"Of course, we can."
"Alright then, I remember there's an abandoned watchtower on the edge of town. Can you restore it?"
"We can. That watchtower is even simpler than this one, so rebuilding it shouldn't be hard, though it will take time and effort."
"Excellent. You'll help us with that task, and after you're done, I'll discuss with the townsfolk whether they're willing to forgive you."
Thus, the second mission concluded. After discussing with the townsfolk, the group of bandits restored the watchtower and were incorporated into the town as its guard unit, earning their livelihood this way. The hunter who had assisted the six adventurers became the captain responsible for supervising the guard unit. The former bandit leader transformed into a town huntsman, surviving by providing game to the community.
"Time to leave."
"Even though we only stayed for a day and a half, everyone in the town got to know us. Suddenly, it feels a bit hard to say goodbye."
"The blacksmith uncle gifted us a set of lock armor as thanks for helping the town."
"Lock armor? I don't see anyone wearing it." Blanchi glanced around but didn't see anyone sporting the actual armor.
"It's a card." Prin walked over, holding a card between her fingers that depicted the lock armor.
"Attach this to your belt, and the lock armor apparel will appear, plus your armor attributes will increase."
"Ah, I see." Everyone tested their lock armor cards.
After equipping the lock armor, their appearances shifted. The image of protective, long-sleeve lock armor was added to the outfit of the three melee classes, while the Wizard, Healer, and Troubadour sported a lock armor vest, with only moderate armor attribute increases.
"It seems profession significantly affects the outcome."
After some discussion, the six decided to let Ores wear the lock armor, as she currently dealt the most damage for the team and therefore needed the best protection.
"With this, the map of the first floor is pretty much complete. We should move to the next floor."
"How do we get there?"
"The townsfolk mentioned heading east continuously until White Stone Mountain Path. At the top of the path lies a gate; pass through it to enter Tuck City's border. It's a medium-sized city with a bustling mix of people."
"Let's get going then."
After preparing themselves, the six adventurers set out once more. Their current party configuration: Swordsman - Shui Yanqing, Axeman - Ores, Spearman - Tilan, Wizard - Prin, Healer - Blanchi, and Troubadour - Audrey.

Twenty minutes later, the group reached the mountain path's summit, where they encountered a sealed iron gate. Upon pushing it open, a burst of white light engulfed them, and they entered within.
A circular platform surrounded by mist-like walls emerged, lifting the six upward into the second level of the labyrinth.
The iron gate opened again, and the group reappeared on the mountain path. This time, they looked downward, and in the distance, a city made of gray stone bricks loomed. Occasionally, carriages and travelers appeared along the road.
"I wonder what lies ahead waiting for us." Shui Yanqing mused.
"Haha, it's bound to be interesting, no doubt." Under her hood, Prin's caramel-colored short hair peeked out slightly, her ruby-like eyes sparkling, a flicker of flame dancing in her palm.
Descending the mountain path, the group headed toward Tuck City. Along the way, they encountered a rotund merchant selling goods by the roadside. Beside him was a parked carriage, with its rear board lowered to reveal its stock.
"Would you ladies care to buy some supplies, adventurers?"
"I've got healing potions, filling bread, torches, antidotes, and flame oil arrows—everything you might need."
