Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva
Chapter 965 - 89: The Minstrel Songs in the Tavern

The wilderness breeze gently blew through, the white birch trees atop the hill swayed, and the group crossed the rolling wheat fields, noticing a traveler riding a horse and playing a flute in the distance.

"You know, this place really has a bit of an otherworldly vibe to it."

Walking along the dirt path, with the withered yellow grass struggling to grow, and slender leaves trembling in the wind, the group gazed at the orange sun and rolling hills in the distance, sharing their respective thoughts.

"The white stone ruins on that hill over there—those must be the old watchtower, right?" Audrey raised her hand to point.

"That's right, the townsfolk said it's on the hill."

"How did it collapse again?"

"Apparently, rats gnawed away the wooden beams inside, then constant wind and rain wore it down, and eventually, it fell."

"No one maintained it?"

"Not sure, maybe there used to be someone maintaining it," they said while arriving at the base of the hill, gazing up at it.

Climbing up the slope, the six of them stood before the collapsed watchtower, looking around.

"How exactly are we supposed to repair this? The commission didn't say anything. Are we really expected to rebuild it brick by brick?"

"No idea; there aren't any clues. Maybe it's just a matter of freedom—how you decide to complete it."

"Since it's a game, there's no such thing as an impossible commission. Let's start by searching the ruins."

The six wandered through the rubble and collapsed structure, searching and occasionally kicking aside bricks to see if anything was hidden.

"Doesn't seem like there's anything. Ugh." Just as Blanchi spoke, she tripped over a stone beneath her feet and almost fell onto the bricks.

Luckily, as a Sequence 4 Transcendent, she wasn't that fragile; she quickly steadied herself, bracing on the ground to regain balance.

"Phew, almost scraped my skin."

As she looked at the white dust on her hands, she wanted to wipe it off. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly noticed something unusual.

"Wait a minute, what's this?" She followed her gaze closely and moved aside the brick on top.

"Looks like a weapon." She saw the cold, hard metallic part.

"What did you find?" Shui Yanqing walked over.

The two worked together to move the stones aside, revealing a double-bladed axe nestled inside.

"Whoa, it's gorgeous. There are tiny inscriptions carved on it too."

Upon hearing their discovery, the others gathered quickly.

The axe's two blades curved like crescent moons, with interwoven vine patterns near the sharp edges. In the middle part, an inscription in Elven script was etched.

'The Royal Glory'

Caressing the axe edge, Ores read the ancient elf inscription aloud, and the axe slowly emitted a faint silver light, revealing rows of data.

'The Royal Glory': A silver-tier double-handed axe with excellent quality, rumored to have once been a high-rank weapon wielded by the royal guards of the Queen. Exceptional armor-breaking ability, heavy and durable. (Bound)

"No matter how you look at it, this is an exceptionally powerful weapon for the early stages," Prin nodded in agreement.

"But unfortunately, we don't have an axeman in the team—no one can equip it."

"With this, breaking through the defense of a hippopotamus would be a breeze."

"Currently, Ores and Prin haven't chosen their career paths yet. One of them could switch to axeman to use it," the group suggested.

"Wait a second, it seems to be already bound."

Upon seeing the 'bound' text at the end and Ores' regret-painted face, everyone suddenly burst into laughter.

"Feels like this will be a tough choice."

"Well, seems like Ores is going to become a Heavy Armored Warrior now."

"That's bound to be a major challenge."

"High-tier weapons appearing early in the game usually come with restrictions and hidden traps. Didn't expect the trap to be triggered by reading the elf inscription aloud."

"It's natural that Ores, once seeing Elven script, couldn't resist reading it."

"Though we still don't know how to fix this watchtower, Ores' career switch needs to be prioritized."

"Stop making decisions for me!" Ores stood up slightly sulking, her silver-white hair flowing in the twilight glow, the silver and gold hues blending seamlessly as if out of an ancient painting.

"I'm not becoming a Heavy Armored Warrior—too ugly!" She expressed her dislike.

"But there's a powerful weapon."

"It's very strong—don't you want to just give it a shot?"

"Please, Ores."

"You'll grow to love this career, our beautiful silver-haired princess."

Though feeling a bit annoyed, Ores was swayed by their praises and coaxing. Finally, she reluctantly nodded and agreed to switch to 'Axeman' to wield the rare weapon.

"Haha, looks like the mission is progressing. But it's getting late; let's head back to the town."

"Alright."

The six of them returned to the town's tavern with the double-bladed axe.

The candlelit tavern buzzed with the clinking of wooden cups. The six, filled with excitement, sat around a worn wooden table, listening to the townsfolk chatter and boast while asking the staff about the menu.

"Tonight's main dishes include bread with fried eggs, roasted potato cubes, paired with sourwood berries, sliced ham, and vegetable soup."

"Anything else?"

"That's all there is, but these are really great—give them a try, girls," the hostess introduced confidently.

"Alright then, we'll take six servings of bread with fried eggs, two plates of roasted potato cubes, one plate of sourwood berries, one plate of sliced ham, and two bowls of vegetable soup."

"Got it! Please wait a moment."

Afterwards, the six eagerly waited, while Prin placed the double-bladed axe on the table, carefully admiring and touching its intricate details.

"Such beautiful curves and sharp edges, with anti-slip carvings on the oak handle. The weight distribution is excellent—it'll handle effortlessly."

"Ores, have you ever trained with axe combat?" Tilan pondered for a moment and asked.

"No, why would I train with a weapon so totally at odds with my image and aura?" She wanted nothing to do with such a coarse thing, feeling it would embarrass her.
