Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva -
Chapter 907 - 68 Resonance of Connection
In the afternoon, Tilan once again came to the garage where Suoga was.
Sunshine spilled onto the open space outside the garage. The wide-open doors and windows let in the scorching light from outside, mingled with a faint scent of motor oil in the air. Compared to the silence of the night, the warehouse at this time had a subtle atmosphere of tranquil laziness.
After finishing repairs on the hover bike, Suoga placed the electric wrench on the table, then grabbed a nearby water bottle and gulped down a large mouthful of water. She then turned on the fan beside her. The breeze swept over her sweat-drenched face and back, bringing a refreshing coolness.
If it weren't for the internal issues within the 'Connector' organization this time, she might still be living a life that, although not wealthy, was relatively free. Occasionally, she would go racing with friends, participate in competitions to earn extra cash—or lose it—and curse at the corrupt rich over drinks, only to resume her life as usual afterward.
Chugging down another half bottle of water with a loud "glug glug," Suoga finally set the bottle back on the table, preparing to lean back in her chair for a moment's rest.
"Still busy with repairs?"
A somewhat familiar voice called out from not far away. Suoga opened her eyes and saw the figure of a young girl with a parasol stepping into the garage from the bright glow outside.
"Ah, it's Zi Jin," she recognized the black-haired, violet-eyed girl.
"Take a seat; I'm going to rest for a bit," she said casually, gesturing with her hand.
The girl folded her parasol and glanced around. Although Suoga had invited her to sit, there wasn't really a suitable seat to be found. The only two small stools were marked with stains from spray paint and grease.
Placing the parasol in a corner of the garage, Tilan glanced toward the small door leading into the room from the garage.
"Where are the others?"
Suoga, leaning against the chair with her eyes half-closed, answered offhandedly.
"Gen's inside, using the internet; seems like she's catching up with some old friends. The young lady is currently talking to other 'Connectors,' trying to persuade them."
"Can I go take a look? Though I'm unsure whether Alanna knows me or not." Tilan's curiosity piqued at how they were communicating—it surely wasn't just through phone calls?
"It's fine. Go through that door and head to the second floor, to the room at the far end. Knock, and she'll let you in. We already told the young lady about you this morning."
"Got it."
Tilan opened the small door to the side and stepped into the room.
The hallway on the ground floor was slightly cool, lined with rooms on either side. It didn't feel like a place meant for family living, more like a temporary resting spot allocated for employees, with a distinctly industrial design.
Climbing up the stairs, Tilan headed for the innermost room. Standing outside the door, she could already sense the peculiar fluctuations from within, even before knocking.
She didn't rush to knock. Closing her eyes, she quietly focused on the sensation, pondering for a moment.
This feeling… there was a subtle dimensional elevation to the space. It was clearly a sign of immersion into the Aijieka Sea. Additionally, there was a faint change in Magic Power present. Unlike the purity of an individual, it was a mingling of various thoughts and frequencies of Magic Power, as if a multitude of people were present. Yet judging from the amplitude of the fluctuations, each one was weak—so weak that even insects would surpass them. Ordinary people wouldn't even sense that anything was off.
After two minutes, Tilan opened her eyes and lightly tapped her fingers on the door a few times.
"Hello, this is Zi Jin. I'd like to meet with Miss Alanna."
Soon, the door opened, revealing a slightly weary young girl. She wore a short T-shirt with silver and colorful patterns and a similarly styled short skirt, as if she had just stepped off a stage performance.
After entering the room, Tilan saw her sitting on the bedside, her body leaning tiredly against the headboard.
"Hello, I'm Alanna." As she spoke, her demeanor lacked the vitality typically seen in performances or shows—it was as if she had become a sun-dried sea urchin.
"Hello," Tilan replied, glancing briefly at the room's interior.
The decor was very sparse: just a table, a chair, and a bed. The walls still held remnants of posters that hadn't been fully peeled off. Only the bedsheets and blankets seemed quite new, likely purchased recently.
"Thank you for helping Suoga yesterday. I hope it didn't cause you much trouble." Rubbing her temples, Alanna tried to muster some energy as she spoke to Tilan.
"Not at all. Actually, I was curious because, when Suoga held my hand yesterday, it gave me a feeling I've never experienced before."
"That's the charm of the 'Connectors.' If it were under normal circumstances, I'd happily chat with you about it for hours. But now, there are still so many issues that need to be resolved." Alanna seemed to recover a bit of liveliness.
"You must have quite a few questions, right? As long as it's not too private, I'll answer them. After all, with so many traitors in the organization, keeping secrets doesn't hold much meaning anymore."
"How exactly does this Ability work? What does it accomplish? I'm really curious."
"Ah, that's a question many newcomers ask," Alanna said without surprise, resting her forehead on her hand and swaying slightly as if to help herself stay alert.
"Let's start with the Songstress..." Just like the day she explained it to Shan, she began reiterating the details once more.
"A Songstress wields overwhelming authority, silencing all other voices—that's one aspect. Additionally, the Songstress's strong infectious capacity also constitutes a form of violence. It's hard to say whether she's genuinely leading the collective will of everyone or merely her own personal desires."
"And so, Alanna's 'Z' group was born—a final faction advocating to terminate all Songstresses and mega-corporations, resisting every form of authoritarian power." Tilan repeated the declaration she had heard from Suoga and Shan.
In the past, Alanna would confidently affirm this grand ideal. But now, she only felt that she might not be as strong and resilient as she had once believed.
"Uh… yeah, that's about right," she said, pressing her fingers lightly to her temples, seemingly trying to evade Tilan's gaze.
