Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva
Chapter 890 - 62: The Uncrowned King in the Pet Shop (Thank you, Alliance Hierarch Luosisi)_4

"If you keep messing around, I'll notify the nearby security forces. By then, it won't be so simple."

Hearing Tilan's clear analysis and warning, the other person's emotions quickly cooled down.

"Alright, fine, maybe I got carried away earlier. But can you help me figure something out? A friend of mine is in trouble, and I need money."

"I don't know how much truth there is in your words, but asking a stranger for help is really quite bold." The girl shook her head.

"Then, could you at least tell me your name and what you usually do?"

"Name, uh, I'm Suoga. I love racing and modifying hover bikes in my spare time. If you want to score a cheap and powerful hover bike, I can get you one."

"Alright, Ms. Suoga, could you tell me what trouble your friend is facing?"

"That… that's a long story..." Her voice faltered, as if she were trying to dress up the events or come up with a plausible excuse.

"If it's a lie, then don't bother saying it." Tilan lowered her head again, flipping through the books in front of her.

"Ugh… ugh…" Suoga found that the seemingly 17-year-old girl in front of her was quite hard to deal with—more difficult to manage than those Gang bosses.

"It's basically about betrayal. We want to make a comeback, and then… then..."

"Then pull off something big and land yourselves in jail?" Tilan didn't look up as she cut her off, sounding like she was describing some sort of underground Gang infighting. She clearly had no interest in getting herself involved.

"What do you mean? The goal isn't jail—it's to change things. Yes, change. Don't you think the Federation is downright awful right now?"

"What's so awful about it?" Tilan kept flipping through her book.

"Like, people aren't doing too good, and those corporations make money way too easily."

"Is it that 'people' aren't doing well, or just you? From the way you talk, it seems you don't like big corporations much—so how do you plan to deal with that? Blow them up?"

"Blow them up? That's a great idea. I didn't expect you to have thoughts like that too." The other person praised Tilan, seemingly trying to find common ground.

Seeing Tilan stay silent, the other person scratched her head again.

"Blowing them up might only solve things temporarily, but it's better than not doing anything at all. I'm not saying we should cause chaos and make life unbearable for everyone—it's just, for certain problems, if you don't resist, the other side won't even see you, won't respect you."

"Yes, respect. That's important. We need equality and respect. We can't let them treat us like monkeys toying in a cage."

Listening to this street-style rhetoric, Tilan felt her desire to reason with the other person dissipating. If it were as simple as blowing stuff up, Emuralin would've acted years ago—she wouldn't still be wandering aimlessly now.

As Tilan yawned, showing signs of wanting a nap, the other person grew anxious. It was rare to run into someone willing to talk properly—someone with even a faint possibility of helping. She couldn't let this chance slip away so easily.

"Do you understand me? Do you understand my anger?"

She reached out and grabbed for Tilan's arm, but midway through, Tilan easily dodged, brushing her off with the back of her hand. At the instant their hand and body made contact, an inexplicable sensation, like a current, surged through Tilan.

Within it was Suoga's rage, her inner roars, and faint echoes of other sounds—varied and tumultuous. They seemed to come from far away, yet felt as close as conscious whispers nearby.

That fleeting moment of less than a second gave Tilan a glimpse into a completely different world.

"What is this?"

Her eyes widened slightly, violet irises shimmering with light, shifting between blue and purple, exuding an extraordinarily eerie aura. In that instant, her entire demeanor transformed—from a mundane shopkeeper to something indescribably alien and distant.

The scene unfolding before Suoga startled her into sheer disbelief. Overwhelmed, she began retreating toward the door with her box in hand, only to see a translucent crystalline wall materialize suddenly at the shop's entrance, blocking her path. Then darkness encroached upon her vision, and finally, she collapsed unconscious.

The box fell to the ground, rolling noisily, while the lizard within hissed repeatedly. A pair of black leather shoes stepped beside her, softly crouching down to upright the box and soothe the frantic chameleon inside.

"Calm down, it's okay."

"Although I don't believe what you've said sounds any good, this peculiar method you've shown is quite surprising. Now, I suddenly feel like meddling." The girl's voice whispered lightly around her, though the unconscious Suoga surely wouldn't hear it now.
