Chapter 75: Chapter 75 No Negotiation in Your Demise (4)_1
Seeing the two people walking in, Cleris’s face grew unpleasant.
"Why did you hit Commandery Princess and the young Marquis?" Cleris asked.
Dugu Qianye looked at the two drenched figures and said, "Because they deserved it!"
"Did they offend the Ninth Miss?" the Fourth Prince asked.
"Hmph, that so-called young Marquis wanted to capture my sister and make her his twenty-first concubine. A person like that, not to mention hitting, killing him would be acceptable!" Mo Feng said disdainfully.
"What?!" Mo Chi and the others, upon hearing Mo Feng’s words, slapped the table, "You have quite a nerve!"
The young Marquis was scared by Mo Chi’s imposing manner, but seeing his maternal uncle there, he became arrogant again. Seeing Dugu Qianye’s enchanting figure, lustful thoughts stirred in him again.
"As the noble young Marquis, it’s her honor that I fancy your family’s young lady! You should clean her up and send her to my bed."
"Bang!"
"Scoundrel!" Before he finished his words, he was knocked to the wall by a palm from Cleris.
"Aunt?" The Commandery Princess looked dumbfounded at the emperor above.
"Bring forth, strip the young Marquis of his title, send him and the Commandery Princess back to the Marquis Residence, punish them with a year of confinement and two years without entry to the Imperial Palace."
Immediately, two people came in, one lifted the person on the ground, and the other pulled the Commandery Princess out.
"Aunt, why? It’s clear that they are the ones despising imperial authority! Uncle!" The Commandery Princess was confounded by Cleris’s attitude. How had they become the ones being punished?
"Take them away!" Cleris ignored the Commandery Princess’s uproar and said to Mo Chi and the others, "Family Head Mo, do you find this punishment satisfactory?"
Mo Chi "hmphed" and did not respond to Cleris. Such blatant bias, who couldn’t see it?
Seeing that Mo Chi ignored him, Cleris feigned a cough and said to everyone, "From now on, the spheres of influence will be as discussed today. If no one has any objections, you may leave."
Only after everyone had left did Cleris lean back weakly in his chair. His heart cursed those two disappointments!
As for the Commandery Princess, who was being taken away by the guards, she kept fussing and cursing as she walked, and when tired, she finally remembered to ask the guard behind her, "Who exactly are those two people, and why even my uncle fears them?"
"Replying to the Commandery Princess, they are Miss Ninth of the Mo Family and Alchemy genius Master Mo Feng," one guard answered.
"What?!" The Commandery Princess’s face changed drastically.
"Today, the Feng Family and the Jia Family were destroyed by the Mo Family," the guard added another sentence, scaring the Commandery Princess pallid.
"It’s said that each disciple of the Mo Family has a Divine Beast," another guard said.
The Commandery Princess, now too frightened to speak, understood why her usually doting uncle would punish her today. Heavens, what kind of people had she offended?
After returning from the Imperial Palace, Dugu Qianye began to seclude herself, and since she enjoyed the quiet, everyone tactfully refrained from disturbing her. She practiced Alchemy and Artifact Refining during the day, cultivated Phantom Technique, and at night, she practiced the Ethereal Step Technique and Formless Divine Skill. It was becoming quite evident that she was running out of time. But she dared not slow down because there was so much she had to do, and she had to have enough strength to handle it all.
Until the school year started, Dugu Qianye had not left her courtyard.
March 1st was the opening day for Empire College. Students typically arrive two days early. Many who came to Pu City heard about the extinction of the Feng and Jia families and expressed their surprise. They’d never expected such powerful families to be destroyed so easily—the strength of the Mo Family was indeed formidable.
But what surprised them the most was that the genius boy Baili Xie was actually a girl, and moreover, she was the Ninth Miss of the Mo Family!
This news made the students of Empire College exclaim in disbelief. Many of the boys were beating their chest and stomping their feet, loudly proclaiming how they couldn’t live with being surpassed by a girl and such.
Because she refined two more batches of Elixir than planned, Dugu Qianye remembered it was the start of the school year when it was already quite late. Thinking of the classes the next day, she still went to the college.
Many students at the academy had already gone to sleep. Dugu Qianye had intended to quietly return to her room, but when she opened the door, she found the other four standing in the courtyard, arms crossed, glaring at her. There was no specific reason, but the look in their eyes suddenly made her feel guilty.
"Hehe, I thought you were all asleep," Dugu Qianye chuckled awkwardly.
"Hmph, we’ve been waiting for you all this time!" Sang Yu said discontentedly, "Coming back so late, were you trying to avoid us?"
Dugu Qianye entered, closed the door behind her, and said, "I wasn’t trying to avoid you, okay? I just got held up with something."
"Confess and you will be treated leniently, resist and you will be dealt with strictly," Gao Liang uttered eerily.
Four pairs of eyes continued to glare at her, and she caved in, saying, "Alright, I surrender!"
"Then let’s go inside and talk about it," Sun Kui came over, intending to hook Dugu Qianye’s shoulder, but suddenly remembered she was a woman and had to awkwardly drop his arm.
Sang Yu grabbed Dugu Qianye’s hand, pulling her inside while continuously saying, "Keeping a straight face and glaring at you really isn’t comfortable."
Lei Xiaohu patted his own face, pouting, "My face has gone stiff. This is really a skilled job."
Surrounded by the four of them, Dugu Qianye asked, "What do you want to ask?"
"You’re a girl?" Sang Yu asked.
"Yes."
"You’re the ninth young lady of the Mo Family?" Gao Liang asked.
"Yes."
"So Mo Feng really is your younger brother!" Lei Xiaohu exclaimed.
"Weren’t you raised in Qifeng City? How come you’re from the Mo Family?" Sun Kui asked.
"The Mo Family has a branch there. Any more questions?"
"Yes," Gao Liang paused before asking, "What exactly is your current strength?"
Upon hearing Gao Liang’s question, Dugu Qianye fell silent, unsure whether to tell them. Seeing Dugu Qianye’s silence, everyone else quieted down too.
After a while, Gao Liang said, "You’ve said before that we are comrades who can stand and fight shoulder to shoulder! No matter who you are, I’ve made up my mind to stick with you."
"Me too, I want to follow you. Boss, you can’t abandon me," Sun Kui looked at Dugu Qianye with a plaintive gaze.
Lei Xiaohu and Sang Yu also nodded solemnly.
"It’s not that I don’t want to bring you with me, but I have very important things to do. I don’t even know what I will face."
"Boss, we are not afraid," Lei Xiaohu said with a straightforwardness.
"Exactly, better to live a life of passion than of mediocrity!" Sang Yu declared.
"My intuition tells me that following you will bring a different kind of excitement," Gao Liang stated.
Sun Kui said nothing, his eyes intently on Dugu Qianye.
Dugu Qianye was at a loss for words from their insistence.
"Well then. Since that’s the case, let’s move forward together! As long as you don’t betray me, I will not give up on any one of you!"
