Chapter 535: Chapter 535 Accident (13)_1

"Where is my senior brother?" Dugu Qianye, seeing only a Hidden Guard and no sign of Hao Pengyou, asked.

"Hao Pengyou has gone to the residence of Qiao Huang, the Ghost King," the Hidden Guard said.

Having received instructions from Mang Qianjun, the Hidden Guard was originally just covertly protecting Hao Pengyou. After arriving in Qiao Huang’s territory, he started to inquire about Nangong Feifei’s whereabouts. Learning that she was indeed at Qiao Huang’s residence, he secretly snuck in to find her but was ultimately driven out by her. Later, when he learned that Nangong Feifei was not happy there, he planned to take her away. With Qiao Huang’s formidable power, he stood no chance on his own, so the Hidden Guard had no choice but to reveal himself to try and dissuade him. But Hao Pengyou was determined, and they could not just watch him take the risk, so they followed him. When they were about to leave, they received a message from Dugu Qianye and left one person behind to meet her.

Understanding the situation, Dugu Qianye said, "This senior brother of mine! Qiao Huang is so powerful, and yet he’s being so reckless—really... Let’s go after them now!"

Having said that, Dugu Qianye flew towards Qiao Huang’s residence with the Hidden Guard, her heart filled with worry all along the way, fearing that they might arrive too late and that Hao Pengyou might already be dead.

"Don’t worry," Zi Xiao said, holding her hand for comfort.

"Hmm," Dugu Qianye took a deep breath and added, "Even if he’s dead, I’ll make him come back to life for me!"

Soon, a city shrouded in black smoke appeared before them. The Hidden Guard pointed to the city and said, "That’s Huangcheng. Qiao Huang’s lair."

Dugu Qianye looked at the silent city and felt a slight relief, saying, "There’s no noise; they probably haven’t fought yet."

"There’s also the possibility that it’s already over," Zi Xiao added.

Dugu Qianye’s heart suddenly tightened as she replied, "Let’s hope it’s not as you say."

Unfortunately, things often go against one’s wishes. As soon as they sneaked into the city, they immediately spotted several figures tied up on a high platform in the center of the city.

"Senior brother!" Dugu Qianye called out softly, looking at the person in the center. After a long time apart, she noticed that Hao Pengyou had become even more gaunt, his cheekbones sharply protruding, and his eyes deeply sunken, giving him a somewhat frightening appearance.

There were wooden stakes erected in the middle of the high platform, with people tied in an X-shape on them. In the center was Hao Pengyou, with the Hidden Guards in uniform black outfits, sent by Mang Qianjun, on both sides.

A person dressed in bright red clothes sat below the high platform, with a crowd standing behind him. The Hidden Guard pointed to the man and said, "That is Qiao Huang."

Dugu Qianye observed his appearance: a pale face, as gaunt as Hao Pengyou, leaning on a chair, his long nails tracing the thighs of the person straddling him, who leaned close to his ear.

Because she was focusing on Qiao Huang, Dugu Qianye’s attention was drawn to the side profile on his shoulder, and recognizing the face, her brow furrowed.

"What’s wrong?" Zi Xiao asked.

Pointing at the woman on Qiao Huang, Dugu Qianye said, "That woman, she’s Sang Yu’s mother."

"Who is Sang Yu?"

"Sang Yu’s sister. That woman was her father’s second wife, lured into Endless Hell because of my scheme," Dugu Qianye said.

Back in the Xuanyue Continent, she had schemed against Sang Yu’s mother; she initially only wanted to separate Sang Yu from the Sang Family. Alas, Sang Yu’s mother refused to submit and was ultimately punished by the laws of heaven and earth and was then dragged down here. Unexpectedly, upon arriving here, she actually managed to charm Qiao Huang and, looking at her current situation, seemed to be doing rather well.

At that moment, Qiao Huang, caressing his own slender and fair legs, said, "You Xiang, what do you think we should do with these people?"

Sang Yu’s mother, now called You Xiang, with her arms wrapped around Qiao Huang’s neck, pressing her bosom against him rhythmically, spoke in a cajoling voice, "My Lord, how would a mere woman like myself know how to deal with these people? But since he came for little sister Feifei, let little sister Feifei make the decision."

Qiao Huang turned his gaze to a coldly beautiful woman kneeling before him and said, "Let her make the decision, hmm? That’s not a bad idea. Feifei, since he came for you, what do you think I should do with him?"

Nangong Feifei knelt on the ground, yet her posture remained rigidly upright. She glanced at You Xiang, then looked directly at Qiao Huang, the Ghost King, and said, "Thirty-eight years ago, I gave myself to the Ghost King, now I belong to the Ghost King. This man is merely an old acquaintance, and I do not know what to do with him!"

"Feifei..." Hearing Nangong Feifei’s words, he shuddered. He knew that when Nangong Feifei said those things, she was indicating that she was no longer pure, but his eyes didn’t show anger or disgust, only deep compassion.

Back then, to save him, she broke her oath and was cast into Endless Hell. Such a fervent woman was taken by the Ghost King, and he could imagine how much pain she must have endured. If it weren’t for him, she would still be the young miss of the Nangong Family, or perhaps the lady of the Ouyang Family—she would never be in the position she was now! With these thoughts, Hao Pengyou’s heart filled with even more resentment towards himself.

"Do you know that you are the King’s woman?" You Xiang stepped down from Qiao Huang, the sound of tinkling bells accompanying her movements. It was then that Dugu Qianye was finally able to clearly see her present appearance.

A younger face, a seductively curvaceous figure, clad only in a chest wrap on the upper body, leaving her delicate and soft waist exposed, and a transparent skirt below, with a gossamer shawl draped over it, barely concealing her snowy skin. If not for Dugu Qianye’s vivid memory, she would never be recognized as Sang Yu’s mother. No one else could tell that she had ever been a mother!

"Yes," Nangong Feifei said, "I know I am the King’s woman!"

"Knowing that, you still conspire with your lover. Are you trying to betray the King?" You Xiang swayed over to Nangong Feifei, her fingers tracing Feifei’s cheek in a tempting manner, questioning.

"What do you mean by that, Lady You Xiang? I have never wished to betray the King; why would you say such things? Or do you wish to take this opportunity to get rid of me?" Nangong Feifei asked, looking at You Xiang.

"I have no such leisure time," You Xiang said, retracting her hand and moving behind Qiao Huang, resting her hands on his shoulders, and asked, "I’m simply very curious, Lady Nangong, how do you plan to deal with the external invader?"

Leaning back in his chair, Qiao Huang spoke languidly, "I’m curious too. Feifei, what do you plan to do with him?"

Nangong Feifei turned to glance at Hao Pengyou, observing his gaunt figure, blood ceaselessly dripping from his wounds, and asked, "Does the King really want me to say?"

"Yes, I want to see how my Feifei will handle him," Qiao Huang said.

Life had become rather dull, and such entertainment was rare, so why would he let it slip away?

Nangong Feifei, observing the trail of blood on the ground beneath Hao Pengyou, said word by word, "Kill, him!"

Qiao Huang had thought Nangong Feifei would plead for Hao Pengyou. Hearing her answer, his eyes lifted slightly, and he said to Nangong Feifei, "Are you sure you want to kill him?"
