Chapter 312: Chapter 312: Green Emperor Xiahou (1)_1
"You said the family clan meeting wasn’t postponed, and before, nobody dared to wipe out a branch family like that! This matter has a significant impact on the Feng Family, and I’ve heard that the Mo Family is also involved."
"How did the Mo Family get dragged into this?"
"Heh, you don’t know about that, do you? The person Dugu Qianye saved belongs to a branch of the Mo Family on the Xuanyue Continent, which was exiled tens of thousands of years ago. Though they were exiled, they still carried the blood of the Mo Family. Hence, the Feng Family suspects that the whole incident was orchestrated by the Mo Family. Dugu Qianye was just a front, otherwise, how could someone from the lower realm have destroyed a branch family? They’re demanding that the Mo Family hand over those people before the Feng Family clan meeting."
"That might be the case, without the help of some powerful force, they wouldn’t have been able to disappear without a trace."
"So how did the Mo Family react?"
"What else could they do? The Mo Family has always been low-key in their operations, but that doesn’t mean they’re pushovers. Otherwise, they couldn’t have stood tall as a top-tier family for so long. The Mo Family says, if you claim it’s my arrangement, then show the evidence. And you’re saying they’re from a Mo Family branch? I didn’t even know I had such a branch, and you do? If you want to fight, the Mo Family will accompany you any time!"
"So, they don’t intend to admit that those people belong to the Mo Family?"
"Why should there be a reason for the exiled to return!"
"Sigh, in reality, this is nothing more than an excuse for the Feng Family to start a war with the Mo Family."
"The affairs of those big families are..."
Listening to those people’s talk, Dugu Qianye realized that if the Mo Family didn’t hand them over, the Feng Family would start a war with the Mo Family. Although the Mo Family’s stance was tough and fearless in the face of the Feng Family’s provocation, they had no intention of acknowledging her grandfather and the others from the start!
She didn’t really care, it was just that she didn’t know if her grandfather and the others would be upset upon hearing this. After all, it was their ancestor’s dying wish to one day return.
"Shibo, when does the alchemy competition start?" Dugu Qianye brought her mind back to the current task; for now, helping Black and White Impermanence settle this matter was the priority. Since the Mo Family wasn’t planning on recognizing her grandfather, there was no rush for her to step in.
"The competition starts on November 11th, taking place at the Alchemist Guild Headquarters located in Feisha City, lasting half a month," Bei Wuchang said, "There’s still a month to go. We’ve been out for more than half a year now; by this time, more than a few alchemists must have already arrived at Feisha City."
"If there’s nothing else, we should prepare to go back. You’ve never been there, so I’ll take you to get familiar with the Alchemist Guild and Feisha City first."
Dugu Qianye nodded and said, "I’m free, ready to leave any time."
Zi Xiao and Hao Pengyou had come along with Dugu Qianye, so naturally, they had no pressing issues; wherever she went, they would follow.
"Then we’ll leave after lunch," Hei Wuchang stated.
After lunch, the five of them headed towards the Spiritual Master Association’s Transmission Array. After waiting in line for nearly two hours and experiencing the jolting of the transmission, Dugu Qianye finally stood on the land of Feisha City, her face pale.
The biggest difference between Feisha City and other cities was the abundance of herbal shops, with more than half of the storefronts being just that. Perhaps it was because the Alchemist Guild was located there, and with the well-known decision to have the Alchemist Guild Headquarters’ alchemy competition impending in a few years, many alchemists had flocked to Feisha City, making every herbal shop incredibly busy.
Dugu Qianye and her group appeared at the Spiritual Master Association’s Transmission Array, and everyone was quite surprised because it was unexpected for Black and White Impermanence to bring back three young people from a single outing. They had always returned alone or at most with their disciples; appearing with strangers like this had never happened before.
Ordinary people and those in the company of Black and White Impermanance have never been this calm and composed!
"Chairman Hei, Vice-chairman Bai," the person in charge of the transmission array greeted the two, and also paid respects to Dugu Qianye and the others following behind.
"Ol’ Six is still as polite as ever," Bai Wuchang said. "How have things been recently? Been busy to death, haven’t you?"
"Yes, because of the competition next month, there’s been a constant stream of people coming to Feisha City every day. I think I should have the Alchemist Guild pay me a salary," said Ol’ Six with a laugh, clearly on good terms with Black and White Impermanance.
Bai Wuchang laughed heartily a few times, then seemed to think of something and asked, "Have those old immortals from the West Continent shown up yet?"
"They arrived yesterday, and they even asked if you guys were around when they came," replied Ol’ Six.
"Hmph, those old immortals just want to bring their people over and show off to me," Bai Wuchang said. Seeing the transmission array light up again, indicating that more people would soon arrive, he added, "We’re heading back first, you keep busy."
Not long after Black and White Impermanance left with Dugu Qianye and his group, a few people appeared on the transmission array. They wore simple clothes that couldn’t conceal their noble aura. Stepping out of the array, these people didn’t bother with any exchange and headed straight outside.
Ol’ Six looked after these figures, clicking his tongue in admiration at the sight of more nobility, but he couldn’t identify which family they belonged to, guessing they were probably from a Hidden World Family.
Shortly after those people left, the transmission array lit up again, and to Ol’ Six’s surprise, it was Mo Qiufeng with several disciples from the Mo Family.
"Young Master Mo," greeted Ol’ Six familiarly.
Upon seeing Ol’ Six, Mo Qiufeng walked over with a cheerful smile and asked, "How come Brother Six is in Feisha City?"
"Ol’ Six just likes running around. It’s lively here, so I thought I’d come join the fun," Ol’ Six responded. "Is it just you this time?"
Mo Qiufeng scratched his head and replied, "I don’t know about the others. I just brought some youngsters over to join the fun. As for who the family decided to be the representatives, I’m clueless. Have you seen any other members come by?"
"No, I’ve only seen your group from the Mo Family," said Ol’ Six.
"Hehe, that’s great. We’re taking off then," said Mo Qiufeng, and then left with the youngsters in tow.
Not long after watching Mo Qiufeng and his group depart, the transmission array lit up yet again.
"Why is everyone rushing in today? I need to check if the transmission array is functioning properly. With this many people every time, it’s running over capacity!" Having said this, Ol’ Six called someone to watch over the area and went off to inspect the transmission array himself.
After Dugu Qianye and his companions left the Spiritual Master Association, they headed straight for the Alchemist Guild. Beholding the lined-up stores selling medicinal herbs on both sides of the street, they couldn’t help but marvel, and Hao Pengyou and the others prepared to explore. They had only taken a few steps when they heard a sarcastic voice.
"Oh, if it isn’t our esteemed Chairmen of Black and White Impermanance? I heard you two went out looking for herbs and people. How did it go? After half a year, did you find the right people? But I must say, don’t bother with anyone below Ninth Grade, lest you end up losing and unnecessarily hurting their delicate feelings!"
