Because of her contract with Liehuo, as well as Dandan’s constant absorption, her Phantom Power had reached the peak of the Great Phantom Master level, just one step away from becoming a Phantom King.

A 16-year-old 9th-level Great Phantom Master would scare the populace of an entire city if word got out.

Both Xiaohuo and Xiaoyin had entered the level of Divine Beasts, with Xiaohuo at level 2 and Xiaoyin at level 1, while Qingluan had advanced to a level 7 Divine Beast. Liehuo was the lowest in rank but still a level 9 Holy Beast.

"Sister, sister, I found so many fun things on the street today," a seven- or eight-year-old girl burst through the door. With two ponytails and wearing a colorful short skirt, she bore a surprising resemblance to Dugu Qianye, with about a thirty percent likeness.

"Xiaohuo, who took you out today?" Dugu Qianye lifted the little girl into her arms.

Because of her Vermilion Bird bloodline, Xiaohuo had already transformed upon advancing to the Divine Beast level. Since she was contract-bound as a life-bound beast to Dugu Qianye, she looked somewhat like her. Dugu Qianye told others that Xiaohuo was an orphan she met outside and decided to bring back. An hour later, Dugu Qianye opened her eyes to see the ingredients neatly laid out before her, with Dudu watching by her side. She picked up Dudu, kissed its plump little face, then stood up, took out the Pill Furnace, and instructed Liehuo to prepare for Alchemy.

Two days later, Dugu Qianye had amassed a small mountain of bottles around her, all filled with Marrow-Cleansing Pills she had concocted over the past two days.

"You’ve worked hard, Liehuo," said Dugu Qianye as she patted Liehuo’s head.

Rubbing against Dugu Qianye’s hand, Liehuo responded, "Master, I’m not tired."

After letting Liehuo rest inside the Refining Demon Pot, she went outside alone. As soon as she exited, Xiaohuo pounced on her in a full embrace. Perhaps it was because Dugu Qianye was the first person it saw upon waking, or perhaps it was due to their soul bond, but Xiaohuo was particularly clingy to her, becoming restless if it didn’t see her for even a day.

Dugu Qianye, leading Xiaohuo, went to Mo Jian’s study. She no longer needed to announce her arrival. After knocking on the door and hearing a response, she pushed the door open and entered.

Setting down Xiaohuo, Dugu Qianye walked over to Mo Jian’s desk, cleared it, and with a wave of her hand, a small mountain of Jade Bottles appeared on the table. Mo Jian picked up one bottle, opened it to look inside, but didn’t recognize the Elixir and asked, "What is this?"

Walking back to her seat, Dugu Qianye replied, "Marrow-Cleansing Pill."

With a "bang," the Jade Bottle in Mo Jian’s hand dropped onto the table. He quickly stabilized the bottle, looking up in astonishment and asked, "Marrow-Cleansing Pill? The ancient Elixir Marrow-Cleansing Pill? The one that can improve the constitution and increase cultivation speed?"

Dugu Qianye nodded and said, "But I have not tested its effects."

Mo Jian sprang up from his chair and ran to the door to summon Mo Lian. Shortly after, Mo Lian arrived. Upon learning that the Elixirs on the table were Marrow-Cleansing Pills, she too was astonished.

"You might as well have someone test its effects first," Dugu Qianye suggested, not wanting to discuss whether she was an Alchemist.

"No need, I’ll try it," said Mo Lian. She picked up a Jade Bottle, poured out an Elixir, and swallowed it. Then she sat cross-legged on a chair.

At first, there was no reaction, but just as Dugu Qianye began to doubt the effects, Mo Lian’s body started to expel black impurities. A foul odor wafted through the air. To verify the effects, Dugu Qianye stayed in the room, enduring the smell, while Xiaohuo had already run outside to play wildly.
