Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Cute Pet Little Baiqiu (1)_1
"Do not underestimate this; although it might appear simple, those who have been granted the Blessing of the God by the Divine Master will cultivate faster than others and their capacity to comprehend will be greatly increased as well. This is also a significant reason why the people from the Divine Temple have a generally higher strength than those on the continent," Fen Jian said.
Of course, those selected to come here were already more talented than the average person.
While Fen Jian and Dugu Qianye were chatting in the room, Fen Jian suddenly seemed agitated and said to Dugu Qianye, "I need to step out for a moment, you stay in my room for a while. If you need to go out, don’t forget to wear your mask."
After Fen Jian left with urgency, as if something major had happened.
Dugu Qianye was in the room thinking through the plans ahead when suddenly she heard Dudu transmitting a message to her, informing her that Youwu had woken up. She teleported into the Refining Demon Pot and saw that Youwu had regained consciousness, sitting up in bed and talking with Mo Chi and the others. His complexion was ruddy now, no longer pale like before, indicating that his half-month recovery in the Refining Demon Pot was going well.
"Grandpa Youwu," Dugu Qianye walked in, seeing Youwu able to speak and life force radiating from his body, she was surprisingly choked up.
"Qianye is here," Mo Chi and the others smiled warmly as they saw Dugu Qianye enter.
"Girl," Youwu leaned on the pillow, looked at Dugu Qianye, wanted to say something but found himself unable to utter another word.
No matter how much torture he had endured before, he would not let himself lose consciousness, fearing that if he did, he might never wake up again. He had yet to find Mo Zhenting, had yet to find the president; he could not die. On the night that Dugu Qianye saved him, he had heard her calling out to him, and it was hearing her voice that allowed him to pass out peacefully.
"Grandpa Youwu, last time you said you’d come to the Imperial Capital to see me, yet I ended up having to come look for you. You deserve to be punished!" Dugu Qianye said.
"Haha, what punishment do you have in mind? I broke my promise, so whatever punishment you decide, I accept!" Youwu laughed and declared.
Dugu Qianye observed him and noticed the wounds on his skin had already scarred over and, thanks to Tianhua, not even scars were left behind. His laughter was also hearty and robust, a sign that even his internal injuries were nearly healed.
"Then I’ll punish you to recover quickly so that when there’s trouble, you can take the lead and I’ll follow you," Dugu Qianye said.
Dugu Qianye’s words made everyone burst into even more laughter.
"By the way, Grandpa Youwu, how did you come to Holy Sea City?"
Upon hearing Dugu Qianye’s question, Youwu fell silent for a moment. The five brothers Mo Chi also lost their smiles.
"I came in with the residents who were sent out by the Divine Temple," Youwu collected his thoughts and began narrating what happened after he parted ways with Dugu Qianye.
After leaving Mengjiao Ridge, Master Youwu sought the clues left by the former principal, Qiongli, and eventually deduced that he had followed the trail of Mo Zhenting’s disappearance right to the Divine Temple headquarters in Holy Sea City. Although Master Youwu was renowned in the Artifact Refining community, his unpredictable temperament meant that he didn’t have a broad network of connections. One day, he stayed in the most luxurious hotel near Pearl City, pondering how he could get to Holy Sea City, as apart from those of the Divine Temple, no one knew its location. Given the vastness of the Phantom Sea Domain, without someone familiar to guide him, he feared he might perish at sea.
That day, as he drank tea downstairs, he overheard a conversation between two people that caught his attention. One said he had obtained some good materials and wanted to craft a fine Phantom Device, but didn’t know whom to ask. The other replied, "Given your standing in the Phantom Sea Domain, you can’t find a good Artifact Refiner?"
"You don’t understand, the Divine Temple’s Artifact Refiners only craft Phantom Devices for those within the Divine Temple. For us exiled residents, we are not qualified to have them refine for us," the first person said.
Exiled residents referred to those living on the small islands adjacent to Holy Spirit Island. In name, they were still people of the Divine Temple, but since they were banished to other islands due to their lesser power, they were effectively no longer considered part of the Divine Temple. Such a status was seen as inferior within the Phantom Sea Domain.
"If you could find Master Youwu to help you craft it..."
"Master Youwu’s whereabouts are fickle and unpredictable; who knows where he is now? I’ve heard he has a strange temperament and doesn’t easily agree to craft for others. Besides, I have to return to the island in three days."
The conversation sparked a clever idea in Master Youwu; he might be able to use this man to reach Holy Sea City. However, he couldn’t just approach and make a deal directly. It had to be the man coming to him for help. After some thought, in the afternoon, he visited a local Artifact Refining shop and left two of his crafted Phantom Devices on consignment. Just like Alchemists, Artifact Refiners often sold their creations in shops, much like when Dugu Qianye had purchased the Phantom Ring and mask previously. And during the transaction, he carelessly revealed his identity.
As the owner of the Artifact Refining shop spread the word, news that Master Youwu was in town spread rapidly, along with where he was staying. The two men from earlier were thrilled to learn they were staying in the same hotel as Master Youwu. They visited him that night, but he dismissed them, saying he needed to sleep and that they could talk the next day. Reluctantly, the two agreed to visit again the following day.
Master Youwu didn’t meet with them until the afternoon because the line of people wanting to see him stretched out into the street outside the hotel. After listening to the man’s request, he said that crafting it would take three days, but since the man had to return the next day, it was impossible for Master Youwu to start crafting for him then.
At that moment, Master Youwu casually mentioned that he was planning to tour the Phantom Sea to experience its flavors. After much hesitation, the man finally invited Master Youwu to come along.
And so, Master Youwu arrived in the Phantom Sea Domain, crafted a Holy Artifact for the man at his home, and was about to inquire about Mo Zhenting’s whereabouts when he was discovered by the Divine Temple’s people. Although he was a strong Phantom Emperor himself, he encountered Lei Fengqi and was quickly captured and imprisoned in the interrogation room on Wuyou Island. What followed was a daily routine of severe torture.
Master Youwu stated it simply, but those listening, like Mo Laotian, were seething with indignation. Everyone knew how seriously injured Master Youwu had been; if it weren’t for Dugu Qianye, or had she arrived just two days later, Master Youwu would have lost his life!
"Damned Divine Temple. They appear so holy and benevolent on the surface, but in reality, they’re just a bunch of sham spiritualists!" cursed Mo Laotian, "We must make them pay a price."
"If my father and sister are indeed here, then we must turn their world upside down!"
"Grandpa Youwu, did you manage to find out anything about my grandfather and aunt’s whereabouts before this?" asked Dugu Qianye.
"No. I was captured shortly after arriving in the Phantom Sea. Cough, cough," Youwu coughed twice, still showing signs of weakness.
Dugu Qianye looked at Youwu and said, "I will make sure the Divine Temple pays for this!"
