Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Cutting Hair to Sever Affection (2)_1
"Father, has Master Niu really agreed to concoct the Auxiliary Spirit Pill for you?" Sang Yu rushed into Sang Yijun’s room and asked excitedly.
"Yu’er, don’t you know to knock before entering? You have no manners." Although Sang Yijun scolded Sang Yu, he wasn’t angry.
Sang Yu ran over and grabbed Sang Yijun’s hand, saying, "Your daughter is just excited. Has Master Niu really agreed to concoct the Auxiliary Spirit Pill for father?"
"Hehe, yes. Master Niu personally promised to do so," Sang Yijun, who was being persistently badgered by his daughter, replied.
"Really!" Sang Yu shouted with excitement, "Then with the Auxiliary Spirit Pill, father can become a Beast Taming Master! That’s fantastic!"
Upon becoming a Beast Taming Master, his status within the family would no longer be the same. After all, several of my uncles can tame level 9 Spiritual Beasts, but only the Family Head and the Seventh Elder can tame Holy Beasts. The Seventh Elder isn’t a Sang Family member; he was invited by the Family Head from outside. If Sang Yijun became a Beast Taming Master, his status would inevitably surpass that of the Seventh Elder. And that would raise my own status as well! Thinking of this, Sang Yu couldn’t help but be overjoyed.
Seeing his daughter so happy, Sang Yijun thought she was happy for him and felt that this daughter was really considerate.
"Second Master, Master Niu has arrived, and the Family Head invites you to the hall," a servant reported from outside.
"I know," Sang Yijun said, "Tell the Family Head I will be there shortly."
The servant outside returned to deliver the message.
"Father, please take me with you. Yu’er wants to see what Master Niu looks like," Sang Yu pleaded.
Sang Yijun thought for a while and then decided to bring Sang Yu along.
In the Sang Family’s guest hall, the Family Head Sang Yidi was receiving Master Niu with a very humble attitude.
"Master, I’ve already ordered someone to inform my second brother, and he should be able to come soon," Sang Yidi said.
"Hmm." Master Niu replied indifferently, lowered his head to drink tea, and didn’t pay any attention to Sang Yidi.
Seeing Master Niu ignoring him, a hint of embarrassment flashed across Sang Yidi’s face. The arrival of the servant was a timely relief from his awkward situation.
"Family Head, the Second Master has arrived."
"Big brother, Master Niu," Sang Yijun greeted the two as he came in. Sang Yu didn’t come in; she just waited outside the hall. Without the Family Head’s summons, she did not dare to enter.
"Second Master Sang, how are things?" Master Niu asked, looking at Sang Yijun who had just entered.
"Haha, there’s definitely no problem when Master Niu speaks," laughed Sang Yijun. He then ordered a servant to call for Chen Yiran. "When will the Master be able to concoct Elixirs for the Sang Family?"
"I’ve already concocted them," said Master Niu as he took out a Jade Bottle with 10 Level 5 Elixirs inside. He tossed the Elixirs to Sang Yidi, then took out another Jade Bottle and threw it to Sang Yijun. "Since she was once your wife, I’ll give you another Elixir as an exchange for her letter of divorce."
Sang Yidi saw that Master Niu had given Sang Yijun another Elixir, and his eyes flickered slightly, but he said nothing more about it.
"Haha, Master Niu has great skill, to have concocted these 10 Elixirs in just three days," he said. These Elixirs all affected spiritual power and were not easy to concoct. He had sent the ingredients only three days ago and hadn’t expected them to be ready so quickly.
"Haha, not bad," Master Niu accepted the praise nonchalantly. "I’m in a bit of a hurry, so let’s go to the front yard to wait. As soon as she arrives, I will set off."
"Sure. Please, Master Niu."
Outside the gates of the Sang Residence, Sang Yu stood, looking up at the words ’Sang Residence’ on the gate, feeling a chill in her heart.
The guard at the door was shocked to see Sang Yu. Shouldn’t the Second Miss be at Empire College right now? Why was she back? And back now of all times!
Sang Yu glanced at the strangely behaved guard but said nothing, striding through the gates.
The eldest had asked her to return first; she had things to attend to.
As she entered, she saw a large group of people standing in the courtyard. At the forefront were the Sang Family Head and her father, along with a man she didn’t recognize. However, his haughty demeanor allowed her to immediately identify his status.
Behind these three stood the younger generation of the Sang Family, with Sang Yu positioned closest to Master Niu, her face beaming with joy. Her father had just informed her that Master Niu had already given her the Auxiliary Spirit Pill.
Clad in white, Chen Yiran was led into the courtyard, accompanied by servants and a garishly dressed woman.
Upon arriving in the courtyard, Chen Yiran’s focus wasn’t on the group at the center but on Sang Yu standing at the gate.
"Yu’er?" Chen Yiran called out, swiftly walking to Sang Yu’s side and grabbing her arm, asking excitedly, "Did your father call you back?"
It was only Chen Yiran’s reaction that made the people in the courtyard notice Sang Yu’s presence.
"Sang Yu?" Everyone was somewhat surprised; wasn’t she at Empire College? Why was she back now?
"Yu’er, did your father call you back?" Chen Yiran asked again, not having heard Sang Yu’s response.
Only then did Sang Yu shift her gaze and reassure her, "Mother, I came back on my own. The college gave me a month off."
Hearing Sang Yu’s words, Chen Yiran finally calmed down.
"Yu’er, you’re back," said the woman who came with Chen Yiran, "have you come to bid farewell to your mother?"
Sang Yu looked at the speaking woman, her stepmother, Sang Yu’s mother. Since childhood, she had always bullied her mother and her, being stingy with their living expenses, embezzling their cultivation resources, and even inciting the other concubines to bully them.
"Bid farewell? Mother, as Father’s wife, where would you be going? And why has your hair become so short?" Sang Yu asked, feigning confusion.
Faced with Sang Yu’s question, the Sang Family members all began to look awkward. Although they had done what they did, her frank questioning made everyone somewhat embarrassed.
"Father, didn’t you say Master Niu was pressed for time? Just hand over the divorce letter to Auntie so Master Niu can begin his journey sooner," said Sang Yu, suddenly speaking up.
This bitch, she couldn’t practice Beast Taming, yet she occupied the position of a legitimate daughter. She was so talented, yet merely born out of wedlock! She used to be able to bully her, but now that she was in Empire College, her status had risen. She wouldn’t allow it!
Sang Yu’s words prompted Sang Yijun into action, and with a thought, a divorce letter appeared in his hand. Sang Yu saw some struggle in Sang Yijun’s eyes, snatched the divorce letter from him, and approached Chen Yiran.
"Auntie, this is the last time I will call you that. Take this divorce letter, and you will no longer be Father’s wife," she said.
Sang Yu quickly took the divorce letter and smiled at Chen Yiran, "Thank you."
She placed the divorce letter in Chen Yiran’s hand, saying, "The reason I returned was to fetch Mother. Since Father has already written the divorce letter, it saves us some trouble."
"What?"
The words of Sang Yu shocked everyone present.
