Mind Demon's Path of Domination -
Chapter 171 - 171: Savage Magic Battle (2/2)
[You have been hit by "Nullification". Access to Mindpower blocked for 30 seconds.]
"You guys really surprised me. Spearman, Teleportation, Nullification. Each one better than the last—" He stopped stalling for time when he noticed his enemies were doing the same too. These fuckers want to let the Nullification guy escape.
His enemy's mask had not broken after he exploded his own body to use nullification. As long as the mask of the savage remained, It could heal itself.
Mark's gaze locked in on one of the two remaining Savage's left hand.
It was slightly darker and a warm aura surrounded it.
His Soul Sense saw the mask that had fallen to the distance transform into a whole savage and break off into a run.
Savage Magic—Blood Healing!
This guy must be the healer. It was so annoying that he couldn't even tell between their faces. Even their smells were similar. But the Blood Healing had just healed the nearly dead Nullification guy back to full health.
"Indeed, Dona was right. You guys are rather annoying."
He could no longer use any of his demonic tricks that used Mindpower. Of course, Clown's Circus didn't use Mindpower but Mark had decided not to use it in this fight anymore. If he could use his Ultimate Demonic Arts, this would have been simpler.
Mark spread his wings widely and moved towards the Healer with a sonic boom.
My demonic tricks are just one of my powers.
His fist headed right for the Healer's mask and since the Teleporter wasn't around, there was no way the Healer could escape. No one other than the Teleporter was as fast as Mark. None of them could even follow him with their eyes.
His fist came to a halt as it slammed into what seemed like a glass dome.
It was the last savage—the Defender's—Savage Magic.
Glass Dome.
Crack.
It cracked slightly as Mark's hand flashed another punch.
"This is not enough to stop me," Mark said coolly and punched again, breaking the glass dome and slamming his fist across the Healer's mask, sending it crashing downwards towards the earth.
In seconds, its entire mask cracked into pieces and the creature died—head destroyed.
"Can you revive with even shards of your mask?" Mark asked, standing proud and walking towards the Defender. It looked at him with a gloomy expression as its Glass Dome surrounded only itself, stronger than before.
"Your body is not nearly as strong as mine." Mark clenched his hands into a fist, nerves bulging all over his arms. "And the only thing you can do is Defend using your Glass Dome."
"You shouldn't talk too much just because you can," the Defender said gratingly. "Even if you kill me, it's no use. Yuglu must have blown the whistle by now and stronger savages will be headed here, you will die. It doesn't matter if you are a demon with sentience or not."
"I see," Mark smiled and kicked, breaking the Glass Dome and slamming the savage onto the floor by its neck. He stepped on it and looked down. "But I think you are overestimating yourself."
Yuri walked out of the forest to the burned clearing of the battle site, dragging a corpse with her. The Defender turned and looked with widened eyes.
Of course, Mark had summoned Yuri out earlier. He could summon things out of his World Space into anywhere as long as his Soul Sense could reach there—it was not hard to summon her without the enemies seeing.
And with her Hunter Ability, it would be easy to defeat the exhausted Nullification Guy. Yuri was intelligent, so he didn't even have to give her any orders.
30 seconds passed and Mark regained his connection with his Mindpower. Surprisingly, his Defensive Magic Aura also turned back on. It had also been just nullified.
"It's not wise to stay here," Yuri said, her expression serious. "Dona's attack made a huge fire appear and someone would come here soon."
Mark looked down at the Defender. "These savages are stronger than my expectation."
The Defender glared silently.
"Get its body, we can research it."
Mark pushed his leg down and crushed the creature's neck and it fell unconscious, he didn't crush its mask. Instead, he absorbed the decapitated—but supposedly still alive—savage into his World Space.
He could ask his questions later.
All five had been dealt with and he could finally breathe out, but he still remained wary.
"These people all had amazing abilities, and if I am right, this should just be an average squad of savages. No elite would be willing to sacrifice himself for his companions so simply, and all of these people were willing to kill themselves to let one of them escape."
Yuri nodded. "Even this guy was trying to escape me just to blow a whistle, I just used my superior physical body to snap him unconscious physically. It's as if they don't care about themselves."
Mark frowned and absorbed the remaining corpses into his World Space and after a last look around, scooped Yuri into his arms and flew up, retreating for the moment.
For now, he had his first taste of savages. So, he decided to watch the situation from the shadows now; understand the limits of his enemy. Know your enemy and know yourself, and you shall never be defeated without knowing you will be defeated.
They were indeed strong. And he had just met their Tier 1 team.
What would a team of five at Tier 2 Pinnacle be like?
There was a whole city of these creatures nearby.
Indeed, Mark had a lot to learn about savages.
Reol'ran, who had been silent all along, spoke: "This world seems weird but their powers are all very handy. And did you notice how well-balanced this squad was? They had the Healer and Nullification guy for support, the Teleportation guy for movement for all of them, the Defender for defense, and the Spearman for attack."
Mark squinted.
When they all mixed into a team, they indeed became a good team. It was just that their synergy wasn't the best and that he was stronger than them by a whole Tier. No simple Tier 2 Low-level Demon, even Dona, would be able to handle them alone.
If Yuri hadn't intercepted, even Mark—a very advanced fighter among even Pinnacle Middle Demons—would have had the whistle blown on him. Which he expected meant a call for reinforcement.
I need more information about these savages.
But deep down, he felt excited too.
For now, though, he had to first get more information before anything.
"Wouldn't it have been simpler if you released the Boss Demon?" Yuri asked, but her own gaze was twinkling. She had experiment subjects now.
Mark sighed. "It would make a lot of unnecessary noise. I haven't trained it yet. But I planned to release it if this turned a bit more hectic."
Its abilities wouldn't be nullified after coming out, and it was nearly as strong as Mark if his inexhaustible Mindpower and unique demonic tricks were taken out of the equation.
It would have surely made the battle easier.
