Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 89 - 89 88 Shit Rabbit
89: Chapter 88: Shit Rabbit 89: Chapter 88: Shit Rabbit Although it might sound disgusting, personal physiological issues are a major problem that everyone in Misrata has to face.
Snipers from both the government and the opposition are scattered throughout the city, and there are definitely not a few people who have been killed while going out to relieve themselves.
Therefore, most people, including Gao Yang and his group, take care of their business inside the houses.
It’s a bit disgusting, but it’s better than losing one’s life.
After dealing with the disgusting tasks repeatedly, you get used to it and it doesn’t seem so disgusting anymore, especially for Cui Bo.
He had no psychological pressure doing something as vile, having peed his pants more than once during intense battles—not out of fear, but for lack of time to relieve himself.
However, for some reason, this time Cui Bo changed his habits and insisted on taking the risk of going out to relieve himself.
Cui Bo soon provided an answer.
With a pained expression, he said, “I’ve been eating MREs for several days, and it’s made me constipated.
I haven’t had a bowel movement for days.
If I take care of it inside, none of you could stay in this room.
Also, taking a dump requires a certain mood.
I’m afraid doing it inside would affect my spirits, and if I can’t do it, that would really ruin me.”
Upon hearing Cui Bo’s explanation, Gao Yang could deeply relate to him, as they were faced with the exact same problem.
Considering their location was a cluster of bungalows with no tall buildings nearby to provide a good vantage point for snipers, Gao Yang thought it might not be such a big deal to go outside to relieve oneself, so he also wanted to try if he could successfully do it without being in someone’s line of fire.
Gao Yang stood up and said, “Let’s go, both of us, to the back of the house.”
After leaving the house with Cui Bo, Gao Yang quickly jogged to the back where there was a small courtyard behind their hiding place.
The courtyard wall had long been breached, creating an opening connected to the neighboring house.
However, the neighboring house and four or five others behind it were all occupied by Coleman’s people, so there weren’t any significant safety issues.
Once in the courtyard, Gao Yang and Cui Bo each occupied a fairly clean corner and squatted down, straining mightily.
While Gao Yang was busy grappling with the pain caused by constipation, he heard some noises coming from the house next door.
The sounds of gunfire and explosions in Misrata never ceased.
Gao Yang heard a few “clack clack clack” sounds from next door but didn’t pay much attention.
However, while he was struggling, a figure suddenly appeared through the gap in the wall.
It was someone clad in camouflage, wearing a helmet, and with camo paint on his face, holding a suppressed Beretta M92, stealthily stepping through the gap in the wall.
Gao Yang’s pants were pulled down to his knees.
While squatting, his pistol was within reach.
When he shockingly realized that someone who definitely wasn’t from Coleman’s company had suddenly appeared, Gao Yang swiftly grabbed his gun, with the instinct to stand up.
Seeing a bare-assed man suddenly emerge from a pile of rubbish, the man holding the M92 was visibly startled, but he didn’t waste any time in aiming his gun at Gao Yang.
Gao Yang stood up and shot at the same time as the intruder.
Gao Yang felt a pain in his chest and saw a small hole in the chest of the enemy’s clothes.
Gao Yang felt like he had been hammered hard in the chest, but he didn’t fall backward.
Instead, he fell forwards to the ground.
The man who shot at Gao Yang staggered, then aimed and fired another shot.
Gao Yang fired back almost simultaneously with his opponent, but by now he knew the enemy was also wearing a bulletproof vest.
So, as he hit the ground, he tilted his head and took a shot, hitting the enemy’s right arm which was holding the gun.
Meanwhile, Gao Yang felt another hard blow just right and above the back.
Though hit in the back again, Gao Yang had struck his enemy’s arm, preventing him from firing again.
As the enemy shouted and tried to switch his pistol from the right hand to the left, Gao Yang fired a third shot.
The bullet struck right at the enemy’s Adam’s apple, and then the man collapsed on the ground.
After taking down the enemy in front of him, Gao Yang heard continuous gunfire.
Turning his head, he saw Cui Bo sitting on the ground, shooting non-stop, and another person half-lying at the wall’s opening, shooting at Cui Bo.
It was clear that Cui Bo had engaged the second intruder as Gao Yang began to fire.
From Gao Yang’s perspective, he had a clear shot at the side of the half-lying man, who presented a large target.
Gao Yang immediately fired and hit the man’s face, but the man was incredibly tough.
Even though almost half of his face was blown off, he kept firing his gun aimlessly into the sky after being severely injured.
Gao Yang quickly fired another shot, hitting the man’s temple, finally killing him.
No sooner had the third man jumped through the gap than, whether it was Cui Bo’s amazing luck or just excellent marksmanship, just as the unfortunate man with the assault rifle had jumped out and before he could fire, Cui Bo shot him directly in the back of the neck, hitting his cervical spine with a single bullet, dropping the man holding the assault rifle instantly.
There should have been a fourth or fifth person who suddenly jumped out and started shooting, but just in the nick of time, Glolov and Li Jinfang finally arrived.
No sooner had he shown his face than Glolov, holding his machine gun, swept it toward the gap in the wall.
From Gao Yang’s angle, he couldn’t see the other side of the gap, but he could hear at least four or five assault rifles firing from there.
Li Jinfang fired a few shots at the gap, then quickly took a grenade hanging on his chest and threw it over.
His right hand kept moving rapidly, and in almost an instant, Li Jinfang had thrown all four grenades he had hanging there.
As if they had agreed on a signal, as Li Jinfang threw his grenades over the wall, grenades began to be thrown from the compound next door as well.
The grenades from both sides met in mid-air before landing in their respective targeted areas.
The first grenade landed right in front of Li Jinfang.
Even before it hit the ground, Li Jinfang stretched out a foot and kicked it with a quick but gentle motion, diffusing the grenade with a contact fuse so that it didn’t explode and was kicked back by Li Jinfang.
While Gao Yang, seeing the raining grenades, rolled backwards without waiting for them to land, Glolov and Li Jinfang turned and ran.
They were close to a house, just a flash away from hiding behind it, while Gao Yang had a small garbage pile behind him, which he used for cover after rolling over it.
As for Cui Bo, he was already crouching by the base of the wall, so he was the furthest from any grenade, and simply fell on his back, not getting hurt.
Both sides seemed to have an understanding of even the number of grenades thrown, four each, with no one at a disadvantage.
But Li Jinfang cheated by kicking one back, so the score was five to three, Li Jinfang won.
After three successive explosions of grenades in their compound, Li Jinfang reemerged from behind the house and continued to fire at the gap, while Glolov also came out and lay down to continue shooting.
Li Jinfang, with his AK47 in hand, advanced quickly while shooting, moving closer to the gap and firing across the wall.
As he counted the bullets Li Jinfang had left, Gao Yang began to worry when he was about to run out.
The gunfire from the neighboring compound hadn’t diminished much, so Gao Yang was sure that once Li Jinfang ran out of bullets, the enemy would certainly take the opportunity to charge over.
Although Glolov’s machine gun suppressive fire was helping, at such close-range firefight, the machine gun’s field of fire was actually compromised.
Gao Yang had once suggested to Li Jinfang to tape two magazines together for a quick magazine change, but Li Jinfang always said it was unnecessary.
Now Gao Yang deeply regretted not insisting Li Jinfang do so, as they were finally going to pay the price for it.
As Gao Yang counted down the last of Li Jinfang’s bullets, he saw Li Jinfang take a magazine with his left hand, but his right hand didn’t stop firing.
Just as Li Jinfang was about to run out of bullets, the left hand swept the magazine in front of the one being used, and as the empty magazine fell, he smoothly inserted the new one.
The moment Li Jinfang changed his magazine, he stopped firing and, with a sly smile, he waited just a moment before suddenly opening fire again at the gap.
Gao Yang knew that the enemy next door surely had been fooled, thinking Li Jinfang was out of bullets and needed to reload, when in fact, Li Jinfang had already changed his magazine.
Not stopping the shooting and changing magazines in one fluid motion was a trick sure to doom anyone who encountered it.
Glolov and Li Jinfang were holding the situation down, but neither of them could retreat because Gao Yang and Cui Bo hadn’t pulled out yet, so they had to keep up the suppressive fire.
Thankfully, the people from Coleman’s company reacted quickly to the gunfight, and seven or eight people emerged from behind the house where Gao Yang and his group were hiding, and gunshots were also heard from behind the next compound.
After a few shouts in French, they immediately retreated.
Li Jinfang and Glolov pursued them, but the gunfire quickly reduced as Coleman’s company let them pass, the French-speaking people breaking through.
The assault rifles were FAMAS, the pistols were silenced Beretta M92s, and with the distinct French being spoken, there was no doubt that they were French forces.
Though it wasn’t clear whether they were the renowned French Foreign Legion, Gao Yang knew these were no ordinary opponents; it was his first time encountering such formidable enemies in Misrata.
Coleman’s company continued the pursuit, while Glolov and Li Jinfang returned after a short chase.
Seeing one man lying down and one standing, Li Jinfang, with a tearful voice, shouted, “Brother Yang, Rabbit, how are you, make a sound, will you!”
Gao waved his hand, grinning through the pain, “Damn it, got shot twice, it hurts like hell, but I’m good, thanks to my bulletproof vest, haha.”
But Cui Bo complained with a whimpering voice, “I got hit three times, didn’t bleed, all the damn bullets hit my chest.
Just pissed off, man; this crap got me sitting in shit, damn it!”
