Mercenary’s War -
Chapter 182 - 182 181 A Gift for Simon
182: Chapter 181: A Gift for Simon 182: Chapter 181: A Gift for Simon Two Claymore Anti-Infantry Mines detonated simultaneously, shrouding everyone within the range of the steel jet blast, leaving no survivors.
After the Directional Mines exploded, Jinfang immediately began firing at the survivors who were still struggling to move, while Glolov, who had already boarded the helicopter, Gao Yang, who had crawled up from the ground, and everyone with a gun began shooting at those who had already fallen, determined to eliminate the last possibility that their enemies could harm them.
Only after ensuring that all moving objects were rendered completely still did Gao place his handgun back in the holster and walk to the helicopter’s cabin door.
Simon grabbed his hand while Jinfang supported Gao’s backside, both helping Gao into the helicopter as he no longer had the strength to climb in by himself.
After getting Gao on the plane, Jinfang grabbed the utterly despairing Torrey Gandyman and tossed him into the aircraft’s cabin, then reached out for Simon to pull him in.
Once Jinfang was the last to board, each person closed the helicopter doors nearest to them, and then Jacklan immediately took control of the helicopter and left swiftly.
As Jacklan piloted the helicopter away from the building, Gao called out loudly to Jacklan, “Go pick up Rabbit and Frank!”
“Understood, on my way to pick them up.”
After Jacklan responded, Gao pointed at Torrey Gandyman and said weakly, “Simon, consider him a gift from me.
I went to great lengths to leave him alive for you.
Do with him as you please.”
After boarding the helicopter, Jinfang still kept a firm grip on Torrey Gandyman, pressing him to the ground.
Gandyman was facing away from Simon the whole time, so Simon had no idea who the person that Gao had captured and used as a hostage to save their lives was until this moment.
Upon hearing Gao’s words, the always silent Bob suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “My God, you’re Simon?
What happened to your face?
I didn’t recognize you!”
While attending to Destin’s wounds at the back seats, Simon moved next to Gao.
He opened his mouth but couldn’t articulate anything meaningful due to the large wound on his face.
It was only after covering the left side of his face with his hand that he managed to mumble unclearly, “Gao, who is he?”
Gao felt darkness encroaching, his head spinning more and more, but he mustered his energy and said, “If I hadn’t intended to witness you taking revenge, I would’ve passed out already.
Can’t you see who he is for yourself?”
Simon, puzzled, grabbed Torrey Gandyman by the collar, lifted his head, and turned it toward himself.
Simon was immediately shocked; after a moment of disbelief, he attempted to make a sound with his mouth that had become slit wider, but no one could adapt right away to their mouth doubling in size, especially during such an intense moment.
“Don’t kill me, please don’t kill me.
You’re after money, and I can give you lots of money, more than you can imagine!
Spare me!” Torrey Gandyman cried out in despair.
Although he had been captured by Gao and his group for a while and had been shot three times, Gandyman had always maintained the composure of a prominent figure.
However, after losing all hope, his voice finally broke into a cry of despair.
“F**k, Torrey Gandyman!”
Once again, Simon covered his face, letting out an astonished and pleased cry upon hearing Simon’s mispronounced name, which left Torrey stunned.
“You know who I am?
Have you known all along?
Who are you people?
Who are you!”
The smile spread across the undamaged half of Simon’s face as he said cheerfully, “Gao, all I can say is you are an amazing actor.
This guy still doesn’t realize that you recognized him and only saw a picture of him.”
Gao pointed to his mask-covered face and said wearily, “All thanks to the mask.
Come on, what do you plan to do with him?
I’m waiting to see you take your revenge before I can pass out.
Please, for the sake of my blood loss, hurry up and let me know the outcome, will you?”
Bob suddenly lunged at Gao’s side, reaching for his mask as he yelled, “Gao, it is you!
I guessed it from your voice.
Let me see your mesmerizing face; I absolutely adore you, Gao!”
Gao weakly pushed Bob’s hand aside and said irritably, “Get lost, I’m not interested in men.
Don’t obstruct me from admiring my own masterpiece.”
Torrey Gandyman’s already pale face was now only tinged with the color of defeat as he muttered to himself, “What hostage exchange, what mercenaries, it’s all a deception.
You’re not mercenaries, you’re all Morgan’s men.
Damn it, how could I make such a basic mistake.”
Simon spoke through slurred words, “A correction, they are indeed mercenaries, but I’m not.
I’m Morgan’s bodyguard, and so was my brother before he was killed by the men you sent in Sudan.
His name was Moses, my brother, the only family I had left in this world.
Torrey, who would have thought that one day your fate would be decided by a bodyguard, and unfortunately, the one deciding your fate is your nemesis!”
After Simon finished speaking, Jacklan yelled, “Prepare for landing, sniper team gear up for boarding.”
Jacklan controlled the helicopter and gently descended onto the rooftop where Cui Bo and the other were positioned.
Li Jinfang opened the cabin door from the inside.
Frank and Cui Bo, after tossing their sniper rifles inside through the opened doors on either side, quickly entered the cabin.
As soon as they were inside, Cui Bo shouted, “Move, someone’s coming up, and there’s one last Claymore.”
Cui Bo and Frank, of course, would also be attacked by the drug dealers, but the four Claymore Directional Mines they had laid out beforehand exerted their effects well.
Intimidated by the power of the Claymores, the drug dealers hadn’t posed too severe a threat to Cui Bo and his team, only distracting them.
Without waiting for the cabin door to close, Jacklan bellowed, “Steady on,” and immediately maneuvered the helicopter back up into the air.
Soon after the lift-off, Frank, who had been watching the directional mine monitor on his arm, noticed figures appearing on the screen and immediately pressed a button.
A series of explosions echoed throughout the corridor leading to the recently occupied sniper position, demonstrating the advantage of having a camera-equipped remote Claymore — being able to detonate it when enemies are near for maximum damage.
After the aircraft took off again, Gao Yang glanced down through the open cabin door and saw at least four or five burning cars on the street, as well as many others clogging up the road at both ends of the target building.
Although it wasn’t very clear from high altitude, the sight gave an idea of the danger Simon and his team faced while being attacked from two sides on the street.
Gao Yang only glanced briefly before retracting his gaze, feeling he could barely keep it together, he urgently said to Simon, “What on earth do you plan to do with him?
Are we going to hand him over to Morgan?”
Simon shook his head, while Torrey Gandyman shook it vigorously instead, shouting loudly, “Take me to see Morgan, I’m willing to surrender to him.
I’ll give him all my wealth, and I’m willing to pay you a lot as well, fifty million, no, one billion, two billion!
You — you promised not to kill me!”
Gao Yang pointed to his own nose and said, “Me?
Sorry, but you said it yourself: mercenaries don’t keep their promises, and I didn’t even promise not to kill you, did I?”
Simon spoke with a vengeful satisfaction, “Torrey, before you die, I want you to know that your family business will go bankrupt, your cohorts will go to prison, and even if you stay alive, you won’t be able to withdraw a single penny from the bank, because you’re bankrupt!”
The words ‘you’re bankrupt’ seemed to hit Torrey Gandyman harder than his immediate predicament.
Torrey Gandyman shouted with an angry face, “You’re lying, bullshit, it’s all bullshit.
How could I possibly go bankrupt, you bloody liar bound for hell!”
Torrey Gandyman was angry, but the smile on the undamaged half of Simon’s face grew thicker.
He said deliberately, “Just as I thought, to you rich people, losing your money hurts more than losing your life.
Now I’ll tell you, you’ve lost, Washington’s big shots don’t want your life, because they’ve taken everything more important than your life — your possessions in the U.S., your assets overseas, all of it, including your honor and dignity, they’ve taken it all.
You’re left with nothing, and I only want revenge for my brother.
So, I only want your life,”
After finishing his statement, Simon turned to Cui Bo, who sat by the door, “Excuse me, Gao is getting impatient.
I’d like him to watch while unwrapping the gift.”
Cui Bo was puzzled but still scooted aside.
At that moment, Frank, sitting on the other side, yelled, “Simon, I understand now.
Is this the mastermind behind Moses’ death?
Moses was my best friend; I want to watch him die with my own eyes.”
Simon dragged Torrey Gandyman in another direction, pulling him to the side of the helicopter door where Frank was sitting, allowing Frank a good look at Torrey Gandyman’s face.
Then, Simon raised his voice to Jacklan, “How high are we now?”
“Low altitude, one hundred meters.
If you throw him now, he’ll splatter on impact.
Do you want me to climb higher?
You can choose to make him into a pulp.”
“Lower the altitude.
It should be low enough to kill him but still high enough to recognize his face.
Moses would curse me if he saw his enemy’s remains as just a pulp — that guy was a clean freak.”
Jacklan brought the aircraft down much lower, frightening both those on board and those on the ground who were cursing at the sky as the helicopter barely skimmed over the rooftops of the bungalows, with the turbulence stirring up dust and noise that angered the pedestrians on the street below.
“Moses, the gift Gao Yang gave me, I’m passing it on to you.
Don’t forget to personally thank Gao!
He won’t be scared!”
With tears streaming down his face and not caring whether his deceased brother could understand his garbled yell, Simon, after finishing his speech, kicked Torrey Gandyman off the helicopter.
