Mercenary’s War
Chapter 134 - 134 One Hundred Thirty-Three The Gate of Life

134: Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Three: The Gate of Life 134: Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Three: The Gate of Life After entering the armored vehicle, Glolov immediately grabbed a machine gun inside the carriage and prepared to fire.

The armored vehicle was a converted large van, with the interior completely cleared out, providing ample space.

On each side of the vehicle, an M60 general-purpose machine gun was mounted on a gun rack, and in addition, there were two more M60 machine guns that could be moved around.

Besides that, the only other contents of the vehicle were boxes of machine gun bullets and an AT4 rocket launcher that Jinfang had brought down from the roof, as well as six bodies that remained in the carriage.

Glolov was no longer short of machine gun bullets, as there were at least two thousand rounds left in the vehicle.

There were six packs of 250-round linked chains and an additional seven or eight packs of 100-round linked chains.

Without even needing Glolov to ask, Frey hurriedly reloaded Glolov’s machine gun with a new chain of ammunition.

“Well done, Frey, I love you!”

Before opening fire with the machine gun, Glolov shouted at Frey, and after being yelled at many times by the impatient Glolov, Frey finally received some praise.

Nearly everyone inside the armored vehicle had been killed by the grenades thrown by Frey.

It could be said that Frey’s two timely and accurate grenades saved everyone’s lives, or at least Gao Yang’s and Jinfang’s.

Frey was all smiles, while Gao Yang had no time to praise him yet as he was busy loading his empty magazines with bullets.

Although the armored vehicle was not fast, Gao Yang and the others were only about two hundred meters away from the entrance of the palace.

At full speed, the armored vehicle covered this distance in just over a minute and reached the entrance of Gaddafi’s Palace.

The remaining armored vehicle of the opposition followed closely behind Gao Yang and his team, continuously strafing their vehicle with machine-gun fire, but the opposition’s armored vehicle lacked rocket launchers, making the machine-gun shooting rather symbolic.

There were steps in front of the palace entrance, and Jinfang drove the armored vehicle directly into the palace’s hall.

Gaddafi’s Palace was a two-story building situated on a gentle slope and didn’t appear particularly large from the outside.

After yearningly observing it for over two months, Gao Yang and his team finally entered inside the palace.

The entrance to the palace was not large, just large enough to barely allow Gao Yang and his team’s large armored vehicle to pass through.

After driving the armored vehicle into the palace’s hall, Jinfang immediately shouted, “Get down, everyone get down, I’ll use the armored vehicle to block the door.”

Gao Yang quickly opened a side door of the armored vehicle and, after helping Glolov unload a few packs of bullets, immediately jumped out of the vehicle.

Glolov and Frey each threw down a light machine gun, then Jinfang reversed the armored vehicle a bit to block the palace’s entrance.

After jumping out of the armored vehicle, Jinfang first headed toward

Gao Yang glanced at the hall of the palace he was in.

Gaddafi’s Palace could only be described as glittering with gold and resplendent.

Although Gaddafi preferred living in tents and indeed spent most of his time in one, his palace still had the necessary opulence.

Gao Yang could only take a quick look around, as they were still far from safety.

They needed to find the entrance to the palace’s underground passageway.

While they knew there must be one inside the palace, whether they could discover its entrance remained a question.

Li Jinfang first pulled out the keys of the armored vehicle and then, after jumping off, he threw two grenades onto the driver’s seat before closing the door of the carriage.

The grenades exploded on the driver’s seat.

Although this wouldn’t ensure the destruction of the armored vehicle, it would at least slow down the opposition’s speed in moving it.

Gao Yang slung his M1A on his back and, after switching his main weapon to a shotgun, said to the people surrounding him, “Forget about the pursuers behind us now, and find the tunnel entrance at top speed.

Search formation; Toad and I will take the front, Rabbit will cover the rear.

Start looking for the tunnel entrance, and be careful.”

After hearing Gao Yang’s words, Glolov immediately discarded the 250-round belt box he had taken from the armored vehicle.

The belt box was too large and inconvenient for moving and shooting, so he and Frey packed five 100-round belt boxes into their backpacks.

Glolov patted his machine gun and said, “It’s ready.”

There were several corridors in the palace’s main hall, leading to different places.

Gao Yang casually pointed to a passage and gestured, “Move out.”

Although the interior of the palace seemed devoid of people, Gao Yang and his team had to be fully alert in case there was anyone left inside, to avoid being caught off guard.

Li Jinfang took the lead with Gao closely behind him.

Glolov and Frey maintained a distance of a few meters from the two, while Cui Bo stayed another five or six meters back, watching for any activity behind them.

Nearly all the doors in the palace were open, revealing rooms in utter disarray.

Li Jinfang, at the forefront, would glance inside each room as he passed by, and after seeing no signs of a tunnel entrance, he would immediately move forward.

The opposition could enter the palace at any time now, and the few remaining bunkers would not last long, let alone the armored vehicle blocking the palace gate, which was barely better than nothing.

The corridors inside the palace were interconnected.

Gao and his team had already searched six or seven rooms.

Though each room appeared extremely luxurious, none seemed to have an entrance to an underground tunnel.

However, after turning a corner, they found themselves back in the main hall.

On one side was the main hall; on the other was a vast space no longer fit to be called a corridor.

The wood doors on both sides were significantly larger and more lavishly decorated than the others and were all closed.

These rooms looked more like places where Gaddafi or other important people might have stayed; Gao and his team had gone round in circles for nothing.

Rushing to a closed door, Li Jinfang made a ready gesture to Gao before forcefully kicking the door.

However, the door’s sturdiness exceeded his expectations; not only did it not break open, it did not even budge.

Just as Li Jinfang was about to kick again, Gao reached out, turned the lock, and the thick wood door swung open effortlessly.

Li Jinfang darted in, raising his gun, with Gao following close behind with his weapon raised.

Right as Glolov and Frey were about to enter, they heard Gao and Li Jinfang both let out cries of astonishment in unison.

“F**k me!”

After Glolov and Frey entered the room, they too let out a cry of amazement, “F**k!”

When Cui Bo, the last one to enter the room, also let out a shout, he exclaimed, “F**k me, we’ve struck it rich!”
