Chapter 37: The Spoiled little princess
Sara had no idea who the good Samaritan was, but she was quite pleased with what she saw. It was no surprise that Adam was so angry and suspected her of being involved.
A small laugh escaped her, and her shoulders shook with amusement. Her eyes gleamed, and a smug smile appeared on her face. She could only imagine what Adam’s expression must look like now—it would have been priceless. Sara wondered how someone else had discovered his infidelity.
"It doesn’t matter, as long as I’m not involved," Sara muttered to herself as she casually scrolled through the comments. She couldn’t help but feel proud of the anonymous person who clearly knew how to push the right buttons without revealing too much.
"Who did you upset, Adam Crawford?" she murmured with a tone that seemed concerned, though her face betrayed no such feeling.
Meanwhile, in the same building, inside the president’s office, Kai handed Alex a tablet displaying the same post. Alex skimmed through it, his face completely neutral, his eyes revealing nothing.
"Find out who posted it and what their connection to Adam is," he ordered, handing the tablet back to Kai.
Kai hesitated, thinking that there was something else Alex should say but hadn’t, and it puzzled him.
"What are you waiting for?" Alex asked, raising an eyebrow, causing Kai to blink in surprise.
Unable to hold back, Kai spoke up. It was better to ask for permission than to act on his own. "Should I have the post taken down?" he asked, watching Alex’s face closely. But, as expected, there was no change in his expression. Alex only ever showed emotions around his woman, and no one else.
"Forget it. He’s not a child whose mess I need to clean up," Alex replied, his voice remaining even. He didn’t even glance up from the file he was working on, prompting Kai to shake his head but internally agreed with him.
Alex and Adam were nearly the same age, and being just two years younger didn’t make Adam any less of a man than Alex. If Alex could handle a situation like this with ease, Adam should be able to manage it as well, albeit with more struggle.
"Alright," Kai said, lifting his foot to turn and leave when Alex spoke, stopping him mid-motion.
"Do you have this week’s schedule?" Alex asked, finally looking up. Kai nodded in response. "You’ll accompany me to the meetings outside the office. Get ready for that."
"Is this about Dane? Or the Goldmans?" Kai inquired. His tone was neutral, a mix of casual and professional, but a teasing edge crept in with his last words. "Are you worried she’ll choose them and leave you again?"
"Just prepare for it and let me know when it is time to leave," Alex replied, clearly not in the mood to entertain Kai’s teasing.
"Yess Boss, as you wish," Kai said with a playful grin. "I’ll see you soon, don’t miss me too much," he winked at Alex who gave a blank stare at him. Kai didn’t mind the lack of emotions from him because he didn’t expect any tlin at first. He turned around and left only for Alex to sight and massaged his temple.

At Atlas University,
Olivia sat in the cafeteria, feeling happy to be surrounded by her friends again. The previous week had been terrible. Her father didn’t even care that she was skipping lectures; he kept her at home, insisting she wouldn’t be allowed out until she learned her lesson. While she didn’t mind missing classes, she disliked feeling confined like that, as if her life was being taken away from her.
Even though she was a freshman, she seemed to know everyone, including seniors eager to flatter her, and she understood why: her family name.
Most girls wanted to connect with her to get closer to her brother, and Olivia wasn’t surprised by it. In fact, she relished the attention. While many struggled to stand out, she didn’t have to lift a finger. Just saying her name was enough. In this place, she felt like a celebrity.
"I’m really sorry I couldn’t make it to your party, Charl. I promise I won’t miss the next one," Olivia said, giving a sad expression as she apologized to the blonde girl sitting across from her
"It’s okay. I know it wasn’t intentional," the girl responded with a smile, which made Olivia smile in return.
Their easy conversation was interrupted when a girl sitting next to Olivia tapped her arm, catching her attention. "Liv," the girl said, looking at least two years older than Olivia and displaying a complicated expression.
"Is something wrong, Stacy?" Olivia asked, noticing the worry on Stacy’s face.
"Take a look at this," Stacy said, bringing her phone closer to Olivia. Curiosity piqued, Olivia leaned in to see what she was showing.
Olivia’s expression shifted as she glanced at the screen. Unable to believe what she was seeing, she snatched the phone from Stacy, scrolling through it and reading each comment, including Adam’s statement, which made her scowl.
"What the hell!" Olivia shouted. She quickly rummaged through her bag for her phone while the other girls at the table exchanged puzzled looks, wondering what had happened. Finally locating her phone, Olivia stood up. "Excuse me for a moment, okay?" she said, leaving the group before anyone could respond.
"What’s up with her?" Charlotte, the girl Olivia had spoken to earlier, asked, curious about what could upset the spoiled little princess of the Crawfords so much.
"Check this out," Stacy said, handing her phone to Charlotte. "Isn’t it wild?" she said with a grin.
Charlotte and the other two girls smiled as well. "Looks like things are getting interesting," Charlotte remarked, her smile widening in the process.
"You can say that again," another girl added. They all pulled out their phones to find the same content and add their own comments. They didny even care that it would further tarnish their friend’s family name.
