Melting Her Cold Heart -
Chapter 157 - 156
Chapter 157: 156
"Mrs Legend is perfectly fine," Dr Anders said meaningfully. His eyes darted towards Alex, who hadn’t said anything throughout the process, only gave answers to the few questions that he was asked, and other than that, he did say nothing else.
"Although I would say that she is rather fortunate that nothing serious happened. This could have resulted in something much more dire," he added, and Alex nodded his head while Sara pressed her lips into a thin line.
She looked at Alex while expression had darkened after hearing that something worse could have happened.
"Thank you for your feedback, Dr. Anders. I assure you that nothing like this will happen again," Sara said. Her hand found its way to Alex’s hand and intertwined their fingers.
"I hope it never happens again, Mrs Legend," Dr Anders said as she stood up. "Congratations on regaining your memories back."
"Thank you, doctor," Sara pelted. "Sorry thay I couldn’t make it to your office again this time. It must have been inconvenient for you oce again."
"No, not at all. It was my honor," Dr Anders replied. Sara could only nod and smile in order not to drag the same conversation longer than it should. "I will take my leave then." He looked at Alex, seeking his approval.
"Alex," Sara nudged him before he nodded his head.
"Thank you for all of your help," He said, and Dr. Ander smiled, relieved that the man wasn’t angry.
"Thank you again, doctor. We will walk you out now," Sara stood up, also making Alex stand as he was unwilling g to let her walk alone anytime soon.

Moment later, Alex and Sara were seated before the dining table, and their meals were almost finished. But Alex still had the sour expression on him, and Sara knew exactly what he was thinking.
"I thought you said you were happy?" She said with a raised eyebrow. Her elbow was propped on the table and her chin resting on her palm. "But you are still sulking even now. Didny Dr. Anders said everything was fine?"
Alex looked at her bu5 his expression didn’t change.
Sara sighed again and reached for his hand. Grabbing hold of it, she placed the back of his palm on her forehead. "My temperature is fine, and there are no signs of discomfort either. Why are you still beating yourself up? Do you think I can be happy for any of this if you keep that upside down smile on you every time?"
"I am sorry," he said, and Sara glared fiercely at him. "i wasn’t considerate enough. But you shouldn’t be so lenient with me either. It was my fault. Had we not been lucky, it could have worsened our situation."
"But that didn’t happen, so let go and focus on now. You still have to appear before the press later on as the new CEO Crawford. Have you forgotten that you have decided to make the announcement today?" Alex frowned, and she knew he was having second thoughts about the press conference.
"Don’t even think about canceling the conference, Alex. Your father has been waiting for this day too," she said in a playful, warning tone.
"I am sorry," he apologized again, only for Sara to let out a frustrated sigh.
"Apology accepted. Can you let go now?" She asked, and he nodded. "Now smile, don’t frown again."
"I called Dad," Alex said, and she frowned. "Uncle jordan. I called him yesterday. I was worried, and I didn’t want t9nkeeo him in the dark about something like this. I am also certain that Asia must have already reported to Mr Cheshire about your condition yesterday."
"Mr Cheshire?" Sara asked. This was her first time hearing that name.
"Trevor’s butler. He also served as his righthand man back in the day," Alex explained.
"I see," she worded thoughtfully. "You called dad, what did he say?" She asked the mystery important question. Jordan was yet t9 know about their marriage, and now this, he must be worried sick. She would have preferred if Alex never told him about her fainting at all, but she knew he wasn’t wrong either.
Jordan was still her father. And he deserved to know everything that was happening, especially something life-threatening.
"He believed you would be fine. But he will find time to come over. Is thay okay?" He asked.
"I think I should be the one asking you thay question, Husband. Not many men are willing to have their in laws hang at their homes. As long as you don’t mind, I have no reason to stop him either. He is my dad," Sara said.
"Alright then. Mrs Lawson will have his room prepared and..."
"Alex," Sara stopped him. "We have been talking about going to see my dad and breaking tue news of our marriage to him. What about your dad? Your family? I am sure everyin4 k own already by now. If not before, then now. After Olivia’s visit, it is a certainty that can not be ignored."
"You want to meet them?" Alex asked, and she nodded. "Then whenever you are ready, we can go to see them. But you should know it is not a must that you should. If father I’d the only one you wish to see then-" the sound of his phone ringing interrupted him and nearly growled at it. He picked up the phone and saw the caller before glancing apologetically at Sara and hung up.
"Father would be happy to see you. And you don’t have to worry about anyone else. We do not need their approval. At least at this stage, anymore." He continued, but the phone rang again. The creae between his brows deepened, and he was about to hang up when she spoke.
"Go on. We can talk after you are done with it," she said, and he nodded curtly.
"Sean?" He called, and Sara frowned. Was it Sean calling, and he hung up earlier? She thought.
"Okay, let’s meet after the lress leaves," he said and listened to what Sean had to say before he hung and placed the phone on the table. His fingers tapping just beside it and his expression thoughtful.
"Did something happen?" Sara asked, asked to read his expression and and disntat and thought gaze told her something was seriously wrong. She just needed him to answer or at last nod and her assumption would be confirmed.

"I don’t know," he said thoughtfully. Sean did sound serious, but Alex didn’t want to read too much into it. He might end up being too occupied to focus on the matters of the day.
Sara wanted to ask why he didn’t ask Sean what happened, but she thought he might have his reasons and thus chose to let it be. "I will go andget ready now. I’ll see you in a bit," Alex. She saw him nod again befire she stood up and left.
After walking a few feet, she stopped sksturned to see him typing speddingly away at his phone’s keyboard. "Somehing is wrong," she muttered. He may not have asked, but he can surely feel it.
Once she was gone, Alex dialed a jumper ams placed the phon on his ear. "Did something happen?" Sara asked, asked to read his expression and and disntat and thought gaze told her something was seriously wrong. She just needed him to answer or at last nod, and her assumption would be confirmed.
