Chapter 86: Coming Of Age Ceremony [2]
Mirian, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying the attention, laughing and chatting with the women as if she’d known them all her life.
She looked like sunshine in her yellow silk gown, adorned with delicate embroidery and tiny, sparkling gemstones that caught the light as she moved her body to grab a fruit. Her long, chestnut hair was tied back with a matching yellow ribbon, and her bright hazel eyes shone like stars in her beaming face.
Her makeup was minimal, with just a light touch of color on her lips and a subtle dusting of powder on her skin, allowing her natural radiance to shine through. A delicate sprinkle of freckles across the bridge of her nose added a playful touch to her features, and her bright, cheerful smile could light up an entire room.
As she reached for the fruit, her yellow gown fluttered around her, making her look like a bright ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. The women couldn’t help but be charmed by Mirian’s warm and bubbly personality, and they fawned over her with affection, making her giggle with delight.
She looked like a cute little, spoiled princess in her finery. The village women oohed and ahhed over Mirian’s appearance, and even Kira cracked a smile, despite her initial reservations.
Finally, a group of women approached Reana. They smiled warmly at her, their eyes shining with kindness, and began to gently but firmly guide her towards a nearby chair. "It’s your turn, Luna," one of them said, her voice soft and soothing. "Let us help you get ready for the ceremony."
Reana felt a surge of hesitation, but upon thinking of that certain servant, who’d been ignoring her since yesterday, she steeled herself and nodded curtly.
She couldn’t wait to make him stare dazely at her. To walk up to her and whisper... sweet nothings in her ear, his eyes locked on hers with a burning intensity that made her skin prickle with anticipation.
Reana’s heart skipped a beat at the mere thought of it, and she couldn’t help but smile a little...then, she caught herself and her face turned cold once more, her heart bubbling with fury. How could she be thinking of that impertinent servant?
Hadn’t he made it clear that he wasn’t interested in her anymore? Otherwise, why did she search for him last night but didn’t find him anywhere?
Reana’s anger simmered just below the surface, threatening to boil over at any moment. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, but her eyes still flashed with indignation.
The women, sensing the change in her mood, exchanged nervous glances, but continued to work in silence, their hands moving with precision.
’She must look the best.’ That was the order they received.
One of the women spread out different dresses in a dazzling array of colors and fabrics, each one more exquisite than the last.
Reana scanned the selection, silently awed by the beautiful masterpieces spread out before her. Her gaze landed on one dress in particular - a less attractive brown floor-length gown. "I want that one," she said.
Though beautiful, it was the most inconspicuous one in the collection.
The women exchanged surprised glances, clearly taken aback by Reana’s choice. One of them, a petite woman with a kind face, spoke up, "Are you certain, Luna? That dress is... understated. We have more elaborate outfits that might suit you better."
But before Reana could press on that, one of the women ’slipped’ and accidentally knocked over a nearby tray of cosmetics, sending jars and bottles crashing on the brown inconspicuous dress.
The women gasped in unison, but when they caught each other’s gaze, they smiled.
"Oh, it’s ruined!" One of the women exclaimed, trying to sound distraught, but her eyes sparkled with mirth. The others nodded in agreement, their faces solemn, but their lips twitching with suppressed grins.
How could Reana not know the little game they’d played? She knew they wanted to make her look her best, and the gown she’d chosen wouldn’t do the work.
With a soft sigh of resignation, she breathed, "Fine, do your thing."
The women cheered and clapped, clearly thrilled that the Luna had given in to them. They picked out a velvet gown.
The dress was a masterpiece of opulence, a luxurious, deep red velvet gown with an off-the-shoulder design and intricate gold embroidery along the neckline - just above her breast, revealing a subtle cleavage.
The velvet gown that shimmered with every movement. Its silk fabric clung to Luna’s upper body, accentuating her breast, slender waist.
The dress’s bodice was adorned with intricate, glittering embroidery, with delicate threads of gold that seemed to dance across the fabric. The dress flows gracefully to the floor, creating a dramatic train.
When Reana was put in it, her slightly honey tanned skin glowed warmly against the rich, dark color of the gown. Her hair, styled in loose, flowing waves, cascaded down her back like a river of coal.
Her makeup was subtle yet elegant, with a soft focus on enhancing her natural features. Her eyes were defined with a matte brown smokey eye makeup that added depth and warmth to her piercing gaze.
Her full lips were painted a deep, rich berry shade that complemented the red velvet of the gown perfectly, giving her a regal, sophisticated appearance that commanded attention.
Reana felt like a true queen as she gazed at her reflection. All she needed was a crown, and voila! The Queen of South Eldrida was born.
The women surrounding her sighed in unison, their eyes shining with admiration. "You look stunning, Reana," one of them whispered, and the others nodded in agreement.
Mirian and Kira turned their attention to their Luna and their breaths caught in their throat. They gazed at Reana in awe, taking in the breathtaking sight of their beloved Luna transformed into a vision of elegance and beauty.
Mirian bounced off her seat, holding her dress as she rushed to Reana’s side, circling her like a hawk eyeing its prized treasure. Her gaze roved over Reana’s transformed appearance, drinking in every detail.
She let out a squeal of delight, "Such a beauty!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with excitement.
Kira chuckled, a warm smile spreading across her face as she watched the two women. "The Luna is indeed beautiful."
