Mated To My Boyfriend's Dad
Chapter 127: _Youngblood

Chapter 127: _Youngblood

The metallic zing of blood was heavy in the air like a sickly perfume intoxicating Fergus. He pushed himself off the wolf’s lifeless body with a satisfied snarl hissing deep within his chest.

"The fear in him was well-spiced. It just makes feeding juicier. I never knew werewolves could be this tasty." He smacked his lips and stepped out of the shadows.

There, he stretched lazily watching with fascination as the battle outside reached a crescendo of screams and clashing steel.

Perfecto.

As he watched the killings, and the struggle of vampires and werewolves, he wondered who to feed on. He couldn’t pick from the street and attack them because he could be seen and that would blow his cover.

Hence, he would make that corner where he killed that pathetic wolf his feeding ground for this moment of feasting.

Easier prey awaited. He needed to pick off the stragglers, the ones separated from the pack, the ones ripe for the taking.

His keen eyes scanned the battlefield, bypassing the flashes of silver marking the movements of his own kind. He craved something different tonight, something more— feral.

Suddenly, a glint of movement caught his eye. Two figures huddled behind a tipped over crate with fear radiating from them like heat waves rushed to Fergus simultaneously.

Perfecto. Triple the ’perfecto’.

Look at them hiding away instead of fighting. Now, that would be their downfall. He would forever relish the blood of cowards.

There was just this unexplainable sweetness of fear added to their blood that empowered Fergus.

His lips curled into a sinister smile. He strolled towards them, dropping his devilish countenance and putting on his most pitiable act.

A single tear rolled down his cheek when he was sure he was in the view of the girls. The thing about this creature was their ability to exhibit selflessness which was something that wasn’t in the vampire’s dictionary.

It was also why they’d lose against the vampires. Now, watch him use that against them.

"Mommy? Where are you?" he whimpered, his voice trembling like a scared child.

With a corner of his eyes, he watched the girls. The two sisters exchanged a nervous glance. One, who was slightly older with red hair, peeked out from behind the crate. "W–Who’s there?" she whispered, her voice shaky with apprehension.

Fergus sniffed, wiping away a nonexistent tear. "I’m lost," he whimpered. "Vampires are everywhere and I can’t find my mummy."

The girls continued to hesitate, fear warring with a sense of responsibility inside of them. Fergus bargained for their sense of responsibility. They seemed naive and with how hard and fast their hearts were beating but yet, they were bargaining to come out of the crate to save him, he knew they were his targets.

Just as the redheaded girl inched closer, ready to investigate the situation, a dark blur shot across the courtyard. A hulking vampire with its fangs bared in a bloodthirsty grin, charged towards Fergus.

"No!" the redheaded girl screamed, her protective instincts kicking in. Without a second thought, she bolted towards Fergus, pushing him out of the way just as the vampire lunged.

The vampire’s attack didn’t connect fully, but its claws still raked across the girl’s back, leaving a bloody gash. A scream of pain ripped from her throat as she stumbled to the ground.

A sinister smile curled Fergus’s lips. PERFECTO!

BEAUTIFUL!

Blood coursing from all directions. Nothing could be more fun!

The younger sister, after seeing what fate had befallen her sister had her eyes wide with terror. She snarled and shifted into her wolf form. Fur erupted from her skin, claws extended, and she lunged at the vampire with a vengeance without a second thing.

Fool; Fergus thought. They both couldn’t take on that vampire alone as they were still young wolves, just becoming.

It was a valiant but foolish act, fueled by raw emotions which was always the downfall of those who feel. The vampire, much larger and stronger, easily swatted the young wolf aside, sending her crashing against a nearby wall.

"No!" the redheaded girl cried out on seeing that she and her sister had almost shared the same fate.

She tried to crawl towards her sister, but the pain from the wound was excruciating.

Fergus watched the scene unfold with a dark amusement. This was more fun than anticipated. He would have orchestrated a mini-drama, pitting the wolves against each other and ultimately making the stronger prey vulnerable.

However, letting the vampire kill them wouldn’t do. Fergus wouldn’t allow his entertainment to be cut short just yet. He wouldn’t let the idiot waste his food.

With a speed that defied his childlike appearance, he launched himself towards the vampire just as its fangs were about to sink into the young wolf’s throat.

He crashed into the vampire with the force of a battering ram, sending it sprawling back. The sudden impact stunned the creature and shortly broke its attack. Fergus snarled with a heavy growl erupting from his throat that sounded far too powerful for his small frame.

"Leave them alone," he hissed, his voice dripping with a chilling venom.

They were his.

After that warning, the vampire understood. Fergus flashed his vampire eyes and fangs for him to see and he got the message.

Immediately, it ran off like a scared puppy after realizing who he was crossing. Fergus smirked and straightened up. Time to focus on food.

As if on cue, he heard the redheaded girl gasp. He glanced down to see her struggling to get up, her hand clutching the bloody wound on her back.

"Help me... get my sister... to safety," she coughed out, her voice weak from pain.

Fergus’ lips curled into a sly smile. This was his perfect opportunity. He knelt before the girl, his face helding a facade of concern. "Don’t worry," he said with false sympathy. "I’ll take care of you both."

The girl, confused and dazed, didn’t question him as she was too tired. She simply let out a whimper of gratitude as Fergus, with surprising strength, scooped her up in his arms. He couldn’t help but relish the feel of her soft, vulnerable body against his.

What if he had them both before feeding on them? Youngblood, after all, was sweet.
