Chapter 57: Unexpected - 3
Silas’s POV
As I sat beside Damon, he said,
"Silas, do you happen to know this person? He comes here specifically to meet me and give me some warnings."
"What kind of warnings? And why did you come here in the first place?" I asked, my eyes glaring at my father.
His attention was also on me. The man sitting beside him was looking at me like I was some kind of criminal or something.
Damon sighed. "Silas, do you know why I canceled your shoot and called you here? Because there’s something you need to know.
The person sitting in front of us is claiming that you’re his son. And while I know that you are... the reason he’s here is utterly ridiculous."
Just then, my father spoke. "I’m telling you, I don’t want my son to act anymore. So please terminate his contract."
"WHAT!?" I turned to Damon, trying to understand what was happening. Why was my father saying his son didn’t want to act anymore? By "son," he meant Ciel, right?
Damon also looked at me. "This is what I was talking about. He came out of nowhere, telling me that you don’t want to act anymore. Is this true?"
"Of course, it’s a lie! Who said I don’t want to act anymore? And first of all, who is he to decide whether I act or not?"
As soon as I spoke, I heard a sharp voice.
"Silas, I am your father! Is this how you’re going to talk to me now?"
"Father? You mean you?" I scoffed. "Don’t joke with me. You never considered me your son before. And Mr. Damon, what is this? Why is this person telling you that I’m going to quit acting?"
Damon started explaining what had happened a little while ago.
"They came about an hour ago. I don’t know when exactly, but Ciel was also with them. Your father started saying that only Ciel would be acting from now on, so I should sign the contract with him. He claimed Ciel was more talented and a greater actor than you."
I clenched my fists. What else could I expect from my own father? Favoring his adopted child over me.
Damon continued, "They also told me that you are a rejected Omega who ran away from the pack.
That if you continue working in my company, it might ruin my reputation. They suggested I consider terminating your contract and replacing you with Ciel."
My blood boiled as I listened. My so-called father... The one who ignored me since childhood was now trying to take away my career, my whole life. I had no idea why he hated me so much but loved Ciel.
I glanced at him. His eyes were on me, making me feel uncomfortable.
This was the same man who abandoned me, and now, when I was finally trying to build my own life, he showed up again—only to ruin me once more.
I scoffed bitterly and looked him dead in the eyes.
"Mr., I get that you want your son to be famous, but you can’t destroy someone else’s future just because you love your son."
"Silas, is this how you’re going to talk to your father now? And why did you even enter the acting industry in the first place? You knew your little brother always wanted to be an actor, yet you tried to steal his dream!"
"Hahaha..." I laughed mockingly. "You’re quite funny, you know that? And who’s stealing whose dream here? Someone should seriously give you an award for being dumb, Mister."
"Because it’s your fúcking whore son who stole everything from me! And when he was doing that, what were you doing? Standing beside him, supporting him. And now, you’re accusing me of stealing his dream? So what if I am? Does your son not have enough talent to surpass me in acting? Is that why he’s using his father to do it?"
Damon remained silent, while Nekol stood there, just watching.
"Quit acting and come back to the pack. I won’t punish you. But if you don’t listen to me... don’t blame me for being cruel later," my father warned.
I shot up from my seat, my temper flaring. But before I could say anything, a cold voice interrupted.
"Threatening my artist right in front of me? You really have some nerve... And besides, once an adult leaves the pack and becomes a rogue, you have no rights over his life."
Just then, my father suddenly pulled out some files from his bag and threw them onto the table.
"This is what you wanted, right? Here. Take this and get out of the entertainment industry."
I didn’t even glance at the files. Why would I? But Damon grabbed them and started reading.
"Silas... these are property papers. He’s offering to make you president of his company. Do you want to be president?"
A bitter smile appeared on my lips.
"There was a time when I was learning everything, working my ass off to become the president of this so-called company. Butler Uncle once told me that it would be mine when I grew up."
"But what did you do when we grew up?" I scoffed, looking straight at my father. "You gave the company to Ciel. Someone who doesn’t even understand business. And your reason? Just because Ciel asked to be the president."
My father’s eyes darkened as he glared at me.
"So now you’re taking revenge on your naive little brother for those things?"
"You’re wrong, Mister. I haven’t even started taking revenge yet. But I promise you one thing—from today onwards, your naive son’s life is going to be hell."
As soon as I finished speaking, my father stood up and slapped me across the face.
The impact stung, but I wasn’t angry. This wasn’t the first time he had hit me for Ciel. I glanced at my father—he was crying.
Crying... just because I said I’d make his life hell? Such a true display of fatherly love—only for his adoptive son.
The moment I was slapped, Damon suddenly stood up. He grabbed my wrist, pulling me back with one hand, while his other hand caught my father’s wrist.
"How dare you raise your hand against Silas?" Damon’s voice was ice-cold.
"SECURITY!"
"SECURITY!"
Damon called for security, and as soon as they arrived, he ordered, "Take this man out of here and never let him in again, no matter what."
Damon made me sit down before going to grab a first aid kit. I glanced at my father as he was being escorted out.
He was looking at me... with a sad expression.
