Mated to Four Alphas -

Chapter 291: Flashback - 31
A few days later, every pack’s leader was summoned to Silas’s pack because the biggest meeting was being held.
Carriages were lined up in front of the palace. A crowd had gathered like ants, and everyone was standing in line since the gates of the palace were closed.
But still, no one dared to murmur about this, ’cause they knew while standing here, they couldn’t say anything bad about the king nor about this pack outside. So those alpha leaders were glancing at each other.
A whole half an hour later, the doors opened. One by one, everyone went inside and sat in their seats. Jeren was sitting on his throne. The hall was so big that many people could sit down, and there was a stone placed in front of everyone, which worked like a mic and recorded voices. It was only available in meeting halls.
Kael, Damon, Theron, and Lysander were also there, sitting on their seats. Seeing them, most people were confused too, ’cause they didn’t know what their sons or relatives had done. But not only alpha leaders were there—omegas, betas, and lunas were also present, since their pack leaders’ corpses were sent to their packs. So they had no other choice but to come here.
"Can we ask why you called all of us here?" said one of the alphas.
"Of course, I’m getting to that subject, so just relax. First, you must have gotten the corpse of the alpha leader of your pack. Whether it was your son, your uncle, or your father—I don’t care. But you all must be thinking: how did they die? And why? That’s the main point. Why?"
Jeren’s words were slow and calm, but his eyes were sharp. His gaze was on everyone. Even while talking, he was noticing everyone’s movements, their facial expressions, without moving his head. Only his eyes were moving from here to there, and it didn’t even look weird since he was doing it so professionally.
"What are you talking about? We were going to ask why our leader died," said the alpha whose father had died.
"I killed those whose corpses have arrived in your pack. It means, whoever is sitting here now—I have killed that person. Any problem with that?"
Everyone flinched hearing that, because they didn’t expect it. They had a hunch that the letter came from Jeren’s pack, which meant he must be the one who killed them. But when he accepted it, they were lost for words, glancing at each other, hoping someone would speak up. Because right now, everyone was a coward.
Still, one of them mustered the courage and stood up. She was an omega. Her husband had died—he was the alpha of her pack. And she couldn’t believe that Jeren had killed her husband. And that too without any reason. That’s why she wanted justice. So she stood up.
"Why did you kill my husband? What is wrong with you? We want justice. We are not going to let you step on us because we are from small packs."
Everyone was looking at her when she said that, and they nodded at her statement.
"Yes, we are not going to tolerate you anymore," another one said.
One by one, everyone started saying that yes, Jeren was wrong. He did something they couldn’t tolerate anymore. Jeren was listening to them. His eyes were only on that woman. She was still standing—the omega woman whose husband had died. And just then, Jeren slammed both his hands on the table, which made all of them flinch.
In a second, the whole hall became silent, and all eyes were on Jeren, since they could see he was glaring at them. From his gaze, they felt scared too. Still, even though a few of them were saying something, they were still cowards, yet they wanted to stand against Jeren—even though they didn’t know anything about why their relatives had died.
"Let me start from the beginning. You all know I have two sons. And they are twins. Orian and Silas. Your relatives planned to r*pe my son, Silas. And after r*ping him, they were going to kill him. Do you know how many Alphas were there to r*pe him? A hundred."
People’s eyes widened hearing this, because this was something unexpected—for them to believe that their father, their husband, had died because they were trying to do something like this to Silas? No. Some people are born to never believe anyone other than their evil partners or evil relatives.
"You are trying to accuse my husband after killing him? Everyone knows how bad your temper is. And now, in your temper, after killing everyone, you’re just accusing them of trying to r*pe your son? Do you think we’re a joke? We all know you don’t send your son out of the pack. Then where did a hundred people come from to do something to him?"
Jeren just glared at her hearing that, ’cause even though she was an omega, she was just like an alpha too—someone who doesn’t understand anyone at all.
Damon stood up hearing that. As he stood, Jeren nodded—like he had given him permission to speak.
"Hello, my name is Damon. You must all know me. I will tell you what exactly happened."
Damon said everything—how he was the one who invited Silas to their birthday party, and Silas went. But when he was coming back, hundreds of alphas stopped him in the middle of the borders, where rogues roam around. They stopped him, killed his driver and his guards, and tried to do those dirty things to him. But he was able to save himself. That’s why Jeren killed all of those alphas. That’s what Damon stated in front of everyone.
A silence still hung in the air, because everyone’s minds were still processing after hearing all this. They didn’t know what to say or do. Just then door got open out of nowhere.
"What are you doing here!" Jeren asked looking at the door.
