Master Of None
Chapter 2558 2558: 2558. Banned Merchant

Despite the injuries, the adventures that Walker had just pulled from the water elemental plane were just fine. They could be healed easily while they were also very clearly understanding the errors of what they had just done.

The taking part was that they hadn't even managed to see a single material that they could bring back of value. Meaning they had gone just to be beaten up. Just so that they could understand that they were not even close enough in strength to survive a few moments within any elemental plane.

While an argument could be made that they would have done better if they were on the outskirts in the weaker areas of the water elemental plane, there was still the fact that they would have struggled in the water. The water elemental planes were unique and hard to move through in general.

While it was odd that drowning was somehow not an issue, potentially since the mana was closely bound to life, it was clear that there was something unique working there to keep people or anything from suffering. Not that everything that lived there needed to breathe at all.

Otherwise, Walker could tell that some of the adventurers had frostbite that would need to be treated more slowly to heal properly. It was common knowledge to many healers that those with certain injuries like burns or frostbite needed to be healed more slowly due to the risk of losing feeling in those damaged places.

Yet, the healing was always based on necessity. If someone was at a greater risk of dying they would be exhaled faster to ensure they survive and if they had some side effects that was the price of survival. It was always a fine line many people would not consider when it came to the process of choosing best treatments for every injured person. Healers had to make these choices and for many, they would just assume someone was getting healed and would be fine in another instant.

These thoughts ran through Walker's mind since he was sure that there would be some lasting damage from this risk that they took, but that was their own issue. They had been younger and more foolish than others. Yet, this didn't excuse them especially with the fact that there were other adventurers clearly older and with more experience than them who had also been here ready to break the rules.

"Reporting to ensure criminals are taken in to custody and the surrounding area is scouted for any dangers or other issues involving current events." The vampire scout that arrived as soon as Walker stepped out of the bridge to the elemental planes was one of the vampires called on to help with these issues.

He was a captain who had immediately begun to show off the high degree of utility in his dark affinity scouting skills. The dark mana he used was focused on muffling footsteps and hiding his presence in nighttime and daytime even. Many of the serpents Onyx cared for had begun working with him and those he had trained. Even a few of the other vampires have begun working for him since he was so advanced.

While Walker knew he had once been a lower ranked scout before the vampires had been made slaves by one of their own people. Now, his skills were considered some of the best since he had utilized them to go unnoticed and keep from being used or abused as often as some others. It was why he survived and why he was ready to fall in line and do whatever was needed for rebuilding his people and the alliance as a whole. He was well driven and Walker was glad to have him here.

"Very good, I am glad you are here. You made it here faster than expected. Right now we have some injured who went to the water elemental plane. They need treatment before they can sit before a trial to be penalized. I believe we also need to focus on the fact that some powerful monsters are being held back by the true water sage, that is why we don't have any issues right now. I will work on the bridge now and Gil should already be looking at what else is needed so speak to him as well."

It wasn't much in response but the vampire nodded and began moving as he was instructed. Several others came from the shadows to help move the criminals and also to treat them as necessary. One was a dark healer who utilized dark mana to help in whaling, but she also could hide well which made her an amazing stealth healer. It would be interesting to see her work with teams that needed to sneak through dangerou monster infested areas. She was also a healer who would not be at risk when in battle because of her stealth abilities.

While Walker began the process of expanding the bridge to the elemental planes, Gil found himself with the group of scouts who had arrived.

"You will need to hold them here until wagons can be set up to transport everyone back safely to where they will await their trials with guilds or with other representatives. We will also have to establish some of your group to remain here as temporary guards." This was something easily handled by those here since the scoring group sent was over thirty of the better trained people.

"I have also seen that the monster bodies some of the stalls set up to sell are lower quality, we will need to do a server of monsters in the area. I doubt they overfunded but there is a chance the local ecosystem is damaged." As someone who worked with the elves Gil had learned a great deal about sustainable hunting and it was a major focus through Genesis since everyone understood the safety in food production that came with this.

"From what we have seen, many monsters along the trails here were hunted for fur, and meat was left behind. Those who hunted the area did not take all of the monsters parts that are useable." There was a greater amount of annoyance in the vampire's voice who explained this. They knew very well the precedent set for everyone nowadays.

"Thank you for letting me know that, we can make notes in our reports that they also didn't follow their guilds rules in hunting and procuring materials for sale." It was normal for procedures to be followed even before the Genesis alliance was formed.

Gil's party knew very well that even without Walker's spatial storage skill they were responsible for monsters they defeated. The only acceptable reason to leave them behind for nature to take was when they were guarding something or in an emergency situation. Otherwise taking something appropriate was the basic rule of thumb.

"There are even damaged mana gems and mana crystals for sale here. This is extremely dangerous and we will keep them isolated until appropriate crafters or mages can handle them." This made Gil snap his head toward the reporting scout and narrow his eyes.

"This means that there was more intention to go against Genesis laws and other kingdoms laws." He was very unhappy hearing this. Damaged products like mana gems and mana crystals were taken care of appropriately. Not because of the quality assured or for any greed in governmental affairs.

There was a serious risk. Damaged mana crystals could leak mana out which in turn caused damage to those around or damaged goods near them. The mana gems were much more dangerous. They stored higher amounts of mana and if the gem was damaged it could cause bursts of dangerous mana which would hurt or kill people nearby.

"We have another wanted merchant as well." Now this halted Gil entirely. There were some merchants wanted by the merchant guild for dangerous practices and other illegal trading.

"They are known as the black profiteer. Exiled from their family for selling cursed weapons and spoiled food goods. He's been isolated for interrogation, would you like to take over?" This was not something Gil could ignore.

It took a lot to be considered wanted for the merchant guild to be any you not to do business again. Even worse that a nickname for as possible to be given based on the deeds done. It also meant that this person might have more dangerous goods stashed away here. It was going to be an ideal place to sell anything away from the eyes of the law.

Gil didn't even hesitate for a moment as he moved toward the area where this black profiteer was being held. He could care less about what shady things the man might do to avoid trouble, but when it came to those shady deals causing harm he was ready to put his foot down. The other young and foolish merchants or adventurers could grow and survive after this. This man was never going to change.
