Master Of None
Chapter 2553 2553: 2553. Cold Snap

"How can I do anything here?' Current felt as if he was almost powerless. This was not a feeling he experienced ever if not even getting close. Yet here he was feeling as if everything he could have done was pretty much tossed aside.

The reason being that as Walke began to pull at the natural mana to enhance his control of manas around, Current felt stifled.

The natural mana was incredibly dense and caused all the manas that had been trying to balance to halt and move much slower. The chaotic water and wind manas still were freezing the area but there was a significant change now. They were being slowed and calmed little by little.

Shockingly enough, Walker also seemed to be stirring the life mana, plants that had been partially froze were starting to perk back up. This was similar to when he had used life mana and natural mana in tandem to help farms or resist a few negative effects of the bridges to the elemental planes opening in certain areas.

It was something small that Walker could do in comparison to what he had the abilities for. Using life mana to help enhance someone's natural healing abilities or using it to heal in general was already spectacular since life healers were few and far between.

Using this life mana and natural mana together was enough to leave Current at a loss so far from what he knew that he didn't even think he would be useful. That was until he felt the creeping sense of danger.

The innate coldness that was so far separated from real cold that Current felt he should retreat. Unnatural but natural at the same time. It wasn't the cold of dense water mana or lack of heat, it was the cold that prickled the back of anyone a little too close to death.

As Current tried to fathom the depths that Walker was dealing in mana with, Walker himself was mentally racing to make all of this work.

The natural mana was putting pressure on the chaotic manas. It slowed them to the point that the break in space mana was now accessible. But there was an issue with the elemental plane he could see and feel.

The mana within was very potent and pure but it was missing things. There was not enough mana within that could allow it to flow with the world. A lot of natural mana needed to be added to make it applicable with the world.

Most of all, life and death mana were nowhere to be sensed at all within the blizzard elemental plane that Walker was sensing. He could vaguely sense Su and the life of the blizzard elemental. They were the sole existences of any life or death mana which naturally occurred in sentient beings.

This was most likely why this elemental plane was held back. It was left to develop properly so that it could be brought in to the other elemental planes and be able to flow with them in balance. Without the life and death mana of the smallest amount, no plants, no other monsters or races, nothing could properly form.

This was why the origin beings must hold these elemental planes back that they find. Both The fact that some contain dangerous unintelligent monsters or they are just too broken and need more time to form. But this plane right now, it needed more development of life and death mana to be able to balance without being torn apart. The fact that it was now connected to the world made things much harder but perfectly explained to Walker why he needed to use life and death manas here.

This was something that the origin beings must do in some regard. They had the abilities to shape and alter elemental planes so if he had been already sensing the chaotic places looking for elemental planes he'd have been looking to plant the seed of life mana or death mana or whatever was needed to balance that plane. Time would be needed for it to function though.

The idea that even a space elemental plane could be lacking or a life elemental plane would be lacking was hard to wrap his mind around. However, it was all about a balance. Every elemental plane had space mana within it, had time mana within. It didn't alter the water elemental plane negatively by having them, nor any other elemental plane.

Therefore, just channeling these manas in to the plane should be enough to spur a proper safe balance that would not cause the break down of the blizzard elemental plane he was grabbing ahold of.

The natural mana was there to balance the elemental manas but also Inspire the unity of other manas. Natural mana was why Walker could better sense other manas.'It was a larger concept that brought many together, teaching him the differences he couldn't sense before. That had been a starting point for him. It was the same here.

His breath slowed as his focused high tended and he pulled at the familiar feeling of life and death mana which he'd sensed before. The life and death mana needed the natural mana to keep them condensed, the natural mana was like a pair of gloves so Walker could actually manipulate them.

While others with these affinities might do so differently, Walker focused on balance and this was what allowed the two somewhat opposing manas to flow with his intent.

His manipulation of natural mana was focused on how nature melded together, nature was a term that no old encompassed the world itself. Races, their affinities, and even the weather. Nature was both easy to grasp and infinitely mysterious. Meaning that life and death were in there balancing naturally too.

There was a downside as Walker pushed for natural mana to drag in the life and death manas in to the blizzard elemental plane. The space mana was under more pressure and even more mixed water and wind manas were flooding out.

It caused the freezing to become even more intense. A battle of natural mana buffed plants and land near Walker against brutal freezing. Current's state of weakness in this didn't even occur to him because his kind had entirely latched on to the focus of all manas in the area.

When Walker grabbed on to the space mana that focused as the base of the blizzard elemental plane, the entire area became even more disjointed. Even the light and dark mana nearby became slightly shaken as shadows stretched and twisted due to the two being unbalanced now.

That didn't mean he was letting it do what it wanted though. With a hardening of his kind, Walker began doing what he'd done before and pulling the space closer. Forcing the blizzard elemental plane to settle in to the world. He used the natural mana as anchors and lures for surrounding ambient life and death mana to flow in and balance the plane as well.

As he moved all of this with his skills, Walker felt his body becoming closer with natural mana, death mana, and life mana. He even felt that the space mana he'd recently grown closer to was more part of him than it had been before.

Whether it was purely his race coming in to play or the mental hoops of moving all of this, it didn't matter. Right now he was making progress and the sudden snap of the blizzard elemental plane taking a place all around him made Walker alter his focus.

His mind switched to pushing the natural mana carrying life and death manas with it in to the area while Current found his control to be returning. With Current handling the outward pulse of water mana it in turn halted the wind mana from wreaking havoc on the general area as well since the two wet whined together.

Su had appeared nearby, her lips blue and first in her hair and all over her armor. There were signs of her armor having been damaged by heavy mana flow from the world but there was also what appeared to be a dense moving storm surrounding her.

The shape was vaguely humanoid, yet, it was also more akin to seeing a small tornado of blizzard trying to shape itself better to be seen rather than to just dissipate within nature. The snow didn't land on Su and it seemed the ice was actually being pulled away from her to protect her.

The shiver that moved through the entire area was what Walker knew as all the manas clicking in to balance and him not needing to push certain manas around to ensure balance. He also felt the break in space snap in to place completely sealing it as if nothing had happened.

While the naturally formed water elemental rune was gone, it was clear that this entire area that had just snapped into place as part of the world would be an immense boon. Understanding that would take time, but the moment right now was needed to be focused on Su and her weakened body due to extreme wind and cold conditions.
