"Just say it, what exactly do you want me to do?"
"Acting overly attentive? You’re either up to no good or trying to rob me!"
"This guy is definitely not the generous type."
Qin Shou thought for a moment and said, "Start by telling me about Cosmic Creature Metal."
Fang Bao reminisced with a dreamy expression, "I remember it was a sunny morning. I got up, ate two baozi, drank three bowls of millet porridge..."
"Cut to the chase!" Qin Shou interrupted.
"Oh, right, because that day I was surrounded by Mechanical Monsters. I had to self-destruct my mecha and ended up escaping underground in an Earth Digging Mecha. Unintentionally, I stumbled upon a vast underground cavern."
"In there, I discovered a Mechanical Monster with a towering height of fifty meters."
"Mechanical Monster? What does that have to do with Cosmic Creature Metal?" Qin Shou asked curiously.
Fang Bao cast a disdainful look. "You don’t know squat!"
"That Mechanical Monster was created during the Old Era by alien life using Cosmic Creature Metal. It was a super mechanical weapon designed to combat Earth Creatures—a Mechanical Godzilla!"
Qin Shou was startled. "Mechanical Godzilla?"
Fang Bao nodded. "That’s right, Mechanical Godzilla."
"Back then, Mechanical Godzilla was smashed into pieces by Godzilla. The former owner of Dragon Island paid a hefty price to acquire those fragments, aiming to determine the method to create Mechanical Monsters."
"Later, Dragon Island went out of control, and the whereabouts of Mechanical Godzilla became unknown. Even the Federation couldn’t locate it."
"Who would’ve thought that I, Fang Bao, would find it? It’s probably heaven’s way of hinting—I’m the Child of Destiny for this world..."
Qin Shou rolled his eyes, "Enough already. ’Child of Gas Luck’ maybe, but keep your sci-fi delusions to yourself, okay?"
"Can’t I boast for just a bit?"
Fang Bao pouted, then let out a sigh.
"Sadly, Mechanical Godzilla has devoured quite a few mechanical life forms that strayed into the cavern, regaining part of its strength."
"And thanks to a traitor among us, the information regarding Cosmic Creature Metal was leaked, which led to this whole mess."
Qin Shou looked thoughtful.
"Alright, we’ve arrived."
At that moment, Fang Bao suddenly shut off the communicator and maneuvered his battle armor to land on the ground below.
The group landed and looked around at the seemingly endless mechanical ruins with puzzled expressions.
"We’re here? Where are your people from Fengshen Group?"
"Could this be a trap?"
Feeling suspicious, the boys surrounded Fang Bao, their gazes hostile.
"Don’t misunderstand, don’t misunderstand! The Fengshen Group’s base is right beneath us."
Fang Bao hastily pointed at the ground and took out a remote control, pressing it lightly.
"Boom..."
Suddenly, a futuristic underground elevator slowly ascended.
"This way, please..."
Fang Bao grinned and walked into the elevator, beckoning the others to follow.
"Boom..."
The underground elevator descended, and before long, it came to a stop.
The elevator doors opened, and the group followed Fang Bao out. The faint smell of motor oil wafted toward them.
In front of them stood a fully constructed underground fortress. Numerous Mechanical Masters were rolling up their sleeves, using tools unfamiliar to Qin Shou to construct their own mechas.
Noticing the arrivals, these Mechanical Masters looked at Fang Bao and greeted him with a smile. "Hey, Fatty, who’re the people behind you?"
Fang Bao returned their greeting, laughing, "Haha, they’re from the Long Family in the Main City."
"Oh, so it’s our allies from the Ma Family!"
"Exactly, exactly. You guys carry on. I’m off to see Big Cousin."
"Alright, alright."
Meanwhile, Qin Shou wandered the mecha factory at a slow pace, curiously observing the process of mecha construction.
Big Big Wolf had picked up some skills in mecha repair, but since it couldn’t build mechas, Qin Shou decided to make sure it learned properly another day.
"Hehe, Liang Jingjing, stop messing around; I’m busy here..."
Suddenly, a playful girlish laugh came from the right.
Instinctively, Qin Shou turned toward the sound and immediately saw a one-meter-long Crystal Dragon playing lightheartedly with a striking girl who was repairing a mecha.
Though the Crystal Dragon was only a pet without battle capacity, its shimmering, dazzling appearance was exceptionally captivating.
The girl wearing a simple white tank top was drenched in sweat, her unique charm enhanced under the bright lights—cough, let’s stick to the topic.
Every so often, nearby Mechanical Masters cast sidelong glances at the girl in the tank top, unconsciously swallowing hard.
Suddenly, the Crystal Dragon seemed to sense something. Its slender body leapt from the girl’s shoulder, releasing an energy burst from the gaps in its crystal-like scales, and flew straight toward Qin Shou.
"Liang Jingjing, where are you going..." the girl exclaimed in surprise.
"Roar..."
The Crystal Dragon let out an excited roar, its dragon’s cry carrying youthful glee as it crashed into Qin Shou’s embrace, growling in its childish voice tinged with grievance.
Qin Shou gently patted the Crystal Dragon’s head and said with a smile, "Alright, alright. Your former owner shouldn’t have sold you; I was wrong, stop crying now."
"Roar-woo-woo-roar..."
The Crystal Dragon nuzzled Qin Shou’s neck with its head, its eyes misty with tears.
As Qin Shou stroked the dragon’s scales, noticing the assistive flight system installed on its body, he smiled lightly.
"You can fly now, huh? Looks like you’ve been treated well by your current owner."
The Crystal Dragon raised its head and nodded profusely.
"Liang Jingjing, you... who are you?"
The tank-top girl hurried over, looking stunned as she watched the Crystal Dragon’s intimate attachment to this unfamiliar boy.
Qin Shou smiled warmly, "Hi, I’m Qin Shou. I bred this Crystal Dragon; you must’ve bought it online from the Federation marketplace, right?"
The girl’s expression turned wary. "Don’t even think about taking it back. Liang Jingjing, come back now."
The Crystal Dragon glanced at Qin Shou, ignored the girl’s calls, and buried its head deeper into Qin Shou’s embrace, reluctant to leave.
Seeing this, the girl stomped her feet in frustration, "Liang Jingjing, come back! Or I’ll stop talking to you!"
