Chapter 291: Episode 27.2 Hide It

After Yanyan’s checkup, Shen Yuan welcomed his husband and son to the top floor of the Hunter Association headquarters, where his office is located.

Chairman Mao gave him a room where most of the executives were, as he’s one of the high-profile personalities in the Hunter Association. Shen Yuan really appreciate the old man’s thoughtfulness in the part. It’s too bad he rarely uses it since he’s always working from home.

The celestial fox spirit loved how the entire office was tailored to his liking. They are on the top floor and the heart of the urban city, but he feels like he’s close to nature due to the interior of his office.

Homey and full of life. Most furniture pieces are made of wood and wear natural color. Potted small bamboo is distributed in the corners of the room, making his cream-painted wall more pleasing to the eyes. Several cute succulents adorned the coffee table, and a little spherical terrarium was installed in Shen Yuan’s worktable.

His office is personalized and unconventional. Shen Yuan couldn’t help but give its interior designer a thumbs up.

Returning to the present, Shen Yuan is seated in his own cushioned office chair while watching the most handsome alpha seated across from him. His eyes gleamed with a small smile. He tapped on the table, creating a somber atmosphere between him and the serious-looking Bai Tingfeng. Yanyan’s parents are currently coming to an agreement. They took advantage of the fact that Yanyan was pep-talking to his subordinates outside.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

"So, both of us agree that Yanyan wouldn’t undergo the intense training regimen of the Bai Family as long as he is young. There’s no need to build up our cute son’s physique in preparation for when he awakens his power."

"Yes." Bai Tingfeng responded to his husband. "And we will keep his results a secret just between us."

"Agreed. With the Cardinals keeping eyes on Yanyan as their potential vessel for their stupid summoning rituals, isn’t it only natural to keep his results confidential? I imagine them relentlessly attacking us once they discover that Yanyan is talented in absorbing mana. But why should it be a secret just between us? I think Father and Dad had the right to know."

At the mention of his parents, Bai Tingfeng wore a profound expression. "I also want to inform them about Yanyan’s potential. However, there are a lot of people surrounding them. I fear the information gets leaked, and worse, it reaches my grandfather, who hears it."

"Huh?!" Shen Yuan’s tranquil face cracked. "Your grandfather, the one who’s famous for ruining your childhood, is still alive? I thought he croaked earlier since I don’t hear you and your parents communicating with him."

It has to be said that due to the blood curse ordeal, Bai Tingfeng’s grandfather turned into an infamous figure for Shen Yuan. Shen Yuan didn’t like how the old man treated his husband back when he was still a child, nor did he appreciate the aftereffects of the man’s actions.

That’s why subconsciously, the celestial fox spirit considers Grandfather Bai a fossil— just a reminder of the past and no longer alive. But who would have thought that he’s still breathing today?

Shen Yuan doesn’t believe that bad guys always die last, but damn, the old man sure lived a long life.

"We just have minimal communication from his side after the family fallout. But he is very much alive and healthy. He retired from his hunter responsibilities and had a comfortable retirement life in one of our mountain mansions in the far north." Bai Tingfeng explained.

Shen Yuan understood the Bai family’s circumstances, but... a mansion on a mountain? Damn, his Bai Family sure knows how to enjoy life. He liked that, too, living a stress-free life away from problematic humans while staying close to nature.

"My grandfather may be inactive now, but as an influential S-class awakener, he has ears all around us." Bai Tingfeng lowered his voice.

"And knowing his obsessive love to gaining prestige for the Bai family, I can imagine him going down here to meddle in Yanyan’s life."

A moment of silence reigned the office.

"I see," Shen Yuan said after some time. The Cardinals or Grandpa Bai... whoever they are. They are not allowed to reach their son. That fact doesn’t change.

"I will contact Doctor Gong to take special care of Yanyan’s records." The celestial fox spirit declared after careful thinking. "Keeping it stacked in confidential files is not enough. It is safer if it disappears in the face of the world."

Bai Tingfeng threw an intense, suspicious gaze at Shen Yuan. "Is this why you’re all friendly to that doctor?"

"Puff!" Shen Yuan tried to press down his laugh. "What? Don’t tell me you are jealous of Doctor Gong? She’s a woman and a beta. Don’t tell me you assumed that just because I eat plentiful tender and juicy Hungarian sausage daily, I grew tired of it and decided to eat pancakes instead?"

"Yuan!" Bai Tingfeng blushed. That statement doesn’t use vulgar words, but the substitution was used effectively. It made him imagine Shen Yuan doing the deed as narrated.

That felt more scandalous for some reason!

"I’m not jealous!"

Shen Yuan rolled his eyes. "Fine. Let me explain my side. I am happy to meet a fellow traveler who walks the infamous path of chrysanthemum fields. It’s not every day that I get to meet a BL lover, okay? Even in my previous world, it’s really rare to see someone enjoying BL content in public."

Bai Tingfeng was slightly intrigued. "Is your previous world strict?" He heard from Shen Yuan that there are no alpha, beta, and omega subgenders in the other world.

"Hmmm." Shen Yuan squinted his beautiful eyes. "Not really. It’s just that no one would actively say they are into watching series where boys kiss and fuck each other."

Shen Yuan winked at Bai Tingfeng, "I’m probably the only one who is brave enough to read male-to-male smut while taking the subway."

The alpha was rendered speechless. Isn’t that a taboo, though? That’s like watching porn in public.

Taking advantage of his husband’s speechlessness, oblivious Shen Yuan stood up and went to Bai Tingfeng’s side. He coquettishly sat on the alpha’s lap, faintly releasing some of his citrusy pheromones.

"BL has been my hobby since time immemorial. Please let me make friends with my fellow rotten people. Hehe."

Almost instantly, Bai Tingfeng’s sweat broke through his pores. His pants slowly tightening.

"I-I am not forbidding you or what. I just said that you’re friendly with Doctor Gong offhandedly." The battle is over. Bai Tingfeng is the loser.

"Oh. I thought you didn’t want me to befriend her." Shen Yuan continued his playful act. This time, he sounded even sexier. At this point, Bai Tingfeng is thoroughly seduced. He’s faintly spreading his pheromones.

"All I am doing is building connections. Networking— if you want me to sound entrepreneurial. So don’t be—"

—Blag!

Before Shen Yuan could say more, his office’s door burst open.

"Papa! Daddy!" Yanyan came in running, his cute little bum jiggling. There’s an unfamiliar paper bag in his hand.

The parents, who were about to do something, jumped away from each other. Shen Yuan looked as natural as he could be as he leaned on his table while Bai Tingfeng was full of black lines on his face while sitting on his chair.

Yanyan, what a bad timing!

"Did you know that you can express yourself just by giving candies? Watch me!" Yanyan then fished some candies from his pocket without noticing the weirdness.

’Ah, I can see Shen Yuan in Yanyan when he’s willful like this.’ The poor father suffering from blue balls could only speak in his mind.

"One. Two. Three. One. Two. Three." One by one, Yanyan placed candies in both Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng’s hands.

"I’m giving you three candies because I. Love. You!" The five-year-old boy flashed and raised his fingers to put emphasis on the last three words. Then he brightly smiled at both his parents.

"Yanyan is impressive! Who taught you that?" Shen Yuan fondly messed up his son’s hair.

Yanyan replied, one eye cutely shut as he enjoyed his daddy’s touch. "Brother Qin Mian. I gave him one candy because I heard him say that his brain lacks sugar to work properly, but he asked me for two more, saying that it would mean saying "I love you" to the receiver— each candy represents the word."

"I see. Then did you give him three candies?"

Yanyan shakes his head. "No. I gave two."

"What does that mean?" Bai Tingfeng asked, curious.

"Good. Job," Yanyan waved a two-finger peace sign and smiled cunningly.

Bai Tingfeng and Shen Yuan couldn’t stop laughing. "Sly."

"Then, to make it fair, I gave everyone two candies for their great work. In return, the big brothers and sisters gave me snacks!" Yanyan’s story time didn’t last until he bragged about the paper bag in his hand. Inside are packets of chocolate bars, biscuits,, and baked goodies.

The boy had quite a haul.

"My son sure knows how to build his network," Shen Yuan commented, giving Bai Tingfeng a meaningful look. Bai Tingfeng flashed at the memory of what happened a minute ago.

Suddenly, Gu Jinpeng knocked at Shen Yuan’s office with a simple reminder.

"Master Shen? Your scheduled visit to Diyu will be half an hour from now. Are we going to go through it?"
