Master Bai! This Celestial Fox Spirit Is Asking For Divorce
Chapter 246: Episode 22.9 Yanyan’s Naming Sense

Chapter 246: Episode 22.9 Yanyan’s Naming Sense

Chairman Mao’s reaction is understandable as it is common knowledge that beasts mutated due to prolonged exposure to large amounts of mana are aggressive and vicious.

Even a tiny, mutated rabbit is too dangerous to be kept as pets due to their fierce nature.

Only people who manage to ask beast tamers to help tame the beasts can keep them. This costs money, time, and connection— and considering the rarity of the beast tamers in the awakener’s society, only a few could afford to do it.

Of course, there are others who are spared from the hassle mentioned above. Some people are lucky enough to form a bond with intelligent mutated beasts, and a beast tamer’s help isn’t needed in this case.

However, this only happens on rare occasions; luck is indispensable.

It’s a mystery for Chairman Mao how the Bai family brought home a wild mutated giant panda.

Chairman Mao couldn’t just let his day go without seeing this so-called Yanyan’s face with his own eyes. Therefore, to scratch his itching curiosity and settle all his worries for the kid from another family whom he grew fond of, he quickly assembled a team of professionals and hurried their way toward the Bai Family’s home.

He wants to ensure that this mutated giant panda is as harmless as Yanyan describes it, and if not...

Damn it, he’s willing to sacrifice his own life to pinch some parent’s ears!

It’s accurate to say that he’s full of worry. However, as he witnessed the "meek" behavior of the mutated giant panda, all his worries gradually fizzled like soda bubbles.

He heard that mutated giant pandas are extremely sensitive when some unfamiliar entities trespass on their territory and personal space. How come it’s acting well-behaved like a little white bunny in the presence of unfamiliar veterinarians and beast experts?

Not that he’s complaining that the panda didn’t attack them. It’s just that he’s expecting to sense a little bit of blood lust from a mutated beast known for being fierce.

"You don’t have taming abilities, right?" asked Chairman Mao. His face is blank and white like a sheet of paper as he is looking at the curious creature before him.

Chairman Mao silently scrutinized the eyes of the beasts and noticed that they were bright and clear, signifying the considerable intelligence of the beast.

Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng, who were standing in line with him, threw a meaningful look at each other before the former answered nonchalantly.

"Chairman Mao, don’t expect too much from your humble employee. I’m not as powerful as you think I am."

Shen Yuan smirked and looked at the giant bear.

’Huh?’ Chairman Mao internally exclaimed as he recognized a familiar emotion flashing underneath the panda’s cute eyes. ’Was that fear?’

The old chairman looked at the omega on his right side and pointedly asked, "You! How did you tame it then?"

"Actions speak louder than words, Chairman Mao. So, of course, I hit him with force until he’s nice and soft."

’I sincerely think you misunderstood something!’

From skepticism, Chairman Mao’s feelings towards the beast turned 180 degrees. What kind of torture did the poor panda go through that it lost its wild instinct?

The old alpha didn’t know the mutated panda was a natural-born coward. Just a little coercion with the help of the tiny foxfire beasts is enough for it to behave like a model student.

As the Bai family expected, Yanyan’s Mr. Panda passed the assessments with flying colors.

The mutated panda is not only in its best health. The experts also found out that it has a relatively high intelligence that is comparable to a six-year-old human.

This is quite something, considering that it isn’t a dungeon-born beast.

"Your panda is now cleared, Yanyan! Are you happy?" Shen Yuan fawningly asked his son.

"Hmmm!" Yanyan nodded his head vigorously.

Their entire family gave a face to the visitors who went to their house and personally sent them off.

Initially, Chairman Mao’s group of professionals stopped them since they felt shy and afraid to impose on the S-class masters.

But being a generous house owner, Shen Yuan, Bai Tingfeng, and Yanyan opted to send them off personally.

Of course, Chairman Mao was reluctant to part with them even though he knew how hectic his schedule was for the day. He hesitated hopping into his car multiple times.

"I’m so happy you have a pet now, Yanyan. Do you... want me to play with you a little longer?"

Yanyan shook his head, a little smile drawn on his lips. "Daddy said that you are busy. Maybe next time, Grandpa Mao. I think Daddy is okay with you sleeping over. You can sleep with Mammy Yin and Mr. Panda!"

"Hihihi. Sleeping with the beasts oddly fits—" Shen Yuan whispered mischievously.

Of course, Chairman Mao clearly heard it, so before he finished his comment, the old man concentrated a strong gale and droplets of rain in his palm and threw it directly on his face.

So, you want to talk, Shen Yuan? Now talk!

The banter between the top figures of the Hunter Association will never cease.

"Anyway," Chairman Mao acted like nothing happened. "Are you sure you’re naming your panda Mr. Panda?"

"You can come up with a more personalized name, Yanyan. You can use something unique."

The little boy tilted his head, deep in thought. "But Mr. Panda fits Mr. Panda. He’s careful with me and a real gentleman. I can’t think of anything else."

Bai Tingfeng looked at his son, thoughtful. He’s got a feeling that despite being sharp, his good little son got his poor naming sense from both his dad.

"How about naming it after some food," Chairman Mao suggested. "Like the ones you love."

"Omurice?" Yanyan tilted his head innocently. "Sweet and sour pork?"

Chairman Mao and Bai Tingfeng were at a loss. Those are not something you would call a panda!

"Then how about Yangyang?" Shen Yuan suddenly suggested it out of nowhere.

He explained, "Think about it. We brought it together with Mammy Yin, so it’s as good as Mammy Yin’s counterpart. Yin and Yang. It oddly fits the panda because, firstly, it’s a male, and just like what I said before, we will be raising the panda to be Yanyan’s shield and guard."

Shen Yuan lowered himself to look directly at his son, "If my talismans fail to work, Yangyang will protect you and, at the same time, attack your enemies."

"Warrior Yangyang," Bai Tingfeng seconded.

It seems like Yanyan loved the idea. The little boy’s eyes brightened like headlights and jumped in glee. "Okay! I will call him Yangyang then! If bad guys come to attack us again, I will then call him Warrior Yangyang!"

The little boy could no longer control his excitement, so after saying bye to Chairman Mao, Yanyan immediately darted to where his panda was.

"Too bad your plans to stay longer were cut short," Shen Yuan turned to Chairman Mao. He leisurely leaned against the big and sturdy frame of his husband, sporting a smirk on his lips.

"Well, what else can I do? I’m bound to be a busy man," Chairman Mao replied, acting like he was a helpless man. "Being the chairman of Hunter Association is like having boulders pressing against me on all sides. There’s official business on the side while there’s all sorts of troubles ahead and behind me."

Chairman Mao heaved a heavy sigh, "I can’t wait for my retirement. Yuan, are you interested in replacing me?"

Bai Tingfeng widened his eyes at the older alpha, surprised.

On the other hand, Shen Yuan only revealed a passive expression. It is more accurate that he’s not interested at all.

"Chairman Mao, I still haven’t forgotten why I joined the Hunter Association. Once the Cardinals are gone, I’m out. Please don’t suddenly send troublesome business on my way without consulting me."

Chairman Mao laughed loudly. "Of course, I’m just kidding. I wouldn’t entrust my mighty seat to someone like you. I’m not senile."

"You!" Shen Yuan looks like he’s about to spit fire. Oh well, he asked for this abuse.

Chairman Mao was all smiles until he remembered the issues they had brought up earlier. Taking a break from pressing matters caused him to think of a solution to help this small Bai family.

"Speaking of troubles, I might need the presence of your tiny family tomorrow. We are going somewhere important," Chairman Mao said enigmatically.

The perfectly shaped brows of the celestial fox spirit slightly furrowed. Usually, Shen Yuan will tease Chairman Mao. However, he simply couldn’t have the heart to do so since he could see that Chairman Mao’s fatigue was genuine.

"Go where?"

"I’m not telling it for now. But you must know I’m taking you to meet someone who may help you in your present dilemma."

Chairman Mao’s eyes, that’s full of profoundness, focused on Bai Tingfeng. "It’s quite unsettling that someone with the same condition as you appeared among our enemies, right? Let’s test our luck if we can find a way to break through the chains that hold back your powers."

A warm feeling sparked in Bai Tingfeng’s chest, "Chairman Mao, you know a way to remove the effects of the blood curse?!"

"Not me. As I said, we will test our luck to meet this esteemed individual. Nothing is sure yet."

Chairman Mao dismissed false hopes early.

Regardless, a prickling curiosity is nudging Shen Yuan’s consciousness. Somehow, he feels excited about this.
