"I wonder if Daddy and Papa are doing fine," Yanyan sighed loudly. His little heart was devoid of fear and worries but at the same time, he couldn’t help but be nervous for his parents’ safety.

While war and bloodbaths are happening outside the villa, the little young master of the Bai family is securely tucked in his bed, together with his favorite toys and stuffed animals.

On the bed’s foot lies Mammy Yin, the B-class boss-level flame-striped tiger. It is leisurely sprawled on the carpeted floor with one eye shut while the other is occasionally opening, looking at little Yanyan.

"Young master doesn’t need to worry about the two masters. They are doing well and based on the time, Master Shen is probably on his way back," Gu Jinpeng reassured the kid.

After doing his role as a sniper in the battle, Gu Jinpeng followed the set-up made by Shen Yuan for him and that is guarding Yanyan.

Those familiar black, toe-length hooded cloaks and weird cat masks only mean that he is their enemy. But the question is, how could they slip through their security?

The protective talismans of this entire building and even of this room are still glowing! Which means they are active and working!

Gu Jinpeng fished his handgun and dagger from his shadow space— a special storage space where he keeps his weapon that’s connected to his shadow.

He’s got a really bad feeling about this new enemy. That’s why he made sure that he kept both hands full.

"Uncle Jinpeng, scary..." Yanyan softly tugged Gu Jinpeng’s pants.

"Don’t worry, young master. I will protect you— urk!"

In a blink of an eye, the assassin charged toward Gu Jinpeng with the Mage Killer knife in hand.

It was fortunate that he was used to dealing fast attacks thanks to the sporadic training sessions he had with Shen Yuan, his hand moved, parrying the attack purely by instinct.

Close-quarter fights aren’t exactly his strong suit that’s why he tries to fight smartly and doesn’t dare to be reckless in seizing the enemy’s openings.

However, Gu Jinpeng could hardly understand it since the voice sounded so unnatural as though it came from a robot. "Huh?"

Gu Jinpeng’s eyes turned into slit. It seems like his opponent is trying to provoke him into making a mistake.

If it was before, he would scream vengeance for his wounded pride as an alpha.

But Shen Yuan already trampled his pride and taught him that there’s always someone stronger than him somewhere— and some of them could be a beautiful omega with a harmless smile.

"Uncle Jinpeng?" Yanyan alertly called his daddy’s assistant and then to the masked villain.

The assassin didn’t respond for a moment and his calculative eyes landed on the serious Yanyan a few times.

Delight flashed in his eyes behind the mask when he saw Yanyan mounting the tiger.

If he can’t provoke the guardian, then he will provoke the target directly.

All he needed to do was wait for the time when Yanyan approached him and then sweep to take the little kid out. Shen Yuan will surely weaken his retaliation once his son is in danger.

"No, young master! Do not do anything reckless! Master Shen will scold you!" Gu Jinpeng tried to warn the child.

But what the little boy did was different from what he imagined.

Yanyan whispered something in Mammy Yin’s ears and the two charged towards the closed door. The flame-striped tiger roared a fireball out of its mouth and destroyed the door.

A protective talisman only shields against outside attacks and not inside attacks. Besides, it doesn’t entrap the people inside so, if they want, they could escape from it.

"Daddy! The bad man who hurt you with that black ugly knife is here!" Yanyan screamed at the top of his lungs.

He may not be able to punish the villain because he is just a small kid, but I’m sure his daddy could!

One adult, one child, and one tiger turned the second floor of the villa into a complete mess. It naturally caught the attention of the few guards.

The assassin grew increasingly desperate. He used a few mirrors to travel in-between spaces and stage a surprise attack against Yanyan.

"Got you finally, little demon!" The assassin was about to grab the young boy when suddenly, something bit his arm!

The pain immediately struck his brain before he could even understand what was happening.

"Make sure to tear off his entire arm or else I will tear you to pieces, you husband stealer."

A mean voice suddenly sounded from behind.

"Daddy! You’re back!" Yanyan cheerfully said.

Shen Yuan is back with a grave expression.
