Chapter 126: Episode 11.5 Show Me What You Got

True to what Assistant Su said, five people from the Hunter Association did hit their doorbell.

Not all of them were unfamiliar faces since some familiar ones came, and unfortunately, one of them happened to be someone he wasn’t fond of seeing.

Why is that damned omega here?

"Welcome to our home, Xia Jinhai," Shen Yuan greeted the handsome beta male in glasses. His eyes never wondered to that certain someone who triggers his pettiness.

Together with Gu Jinpeng and Yanyan, they extended a warm welcome to their guests.

"Thanks for receiving us, Shen Yuan. Chairman Mao was rather busy today, so he told us to drop by your place for him," Xia Jinhai politely said to Shen Yuan. There’s no surprise that Chairman Mao orchestrated this sudden visit, so the celestial fox spirit just shrugged his shoulder and said okay.

Xia Jinhai looked down at the kid hiding behind the omega and waved, "Hello."

Yanyan was initially on guard at the newcomers, but when he recognized that handsome brother in glasses, the five-year-old’s eyes instantly lit up and greeted him, "Whoah, Daddy! That’s the kind uncle who helps us when that bad man is harassing us!"

"Uncle?" Xia Jinhai’s business-like smile slightly turned askew. Isn’t he a little too young to be called uncle? He’s only 25!

The celestial fox spirit knew the boy was talking about his Daddy’s first confrontation with Zhu Kai during his Awakeners Test.

Shen Yuan nodded his head in confirmation. Immediately, Yanyan stepped toward Xia Jinhai and flashed his cuteness, "Hello, Uncle! I’m Yanyan, my Daddy’s only son. Thank you for saving me and my Daddy!"

Xia Jinhai was caught off guard when he met such an unexpected fluff. He couldn’t help but ask himself: Is this really Shen Yuan’s son? Their vibes were not the same.

Well, visually speaking, Yanyan is little Shen Yuan. That much is an undisputed fact.

"That’s absolutely nothing, Yanyan. You can call me Brother Jinhai."

"Okay! Brother Jinhai!" Yanyan smartly answered.

On the side, Yanyan was happy that his son had eased up in the presence of strangers. It seems like their frequent visit to the therapist is working.

"Where is Brother Tingfeng?" an annoying voice sounded, grating his peace of mind, but as a wise celestial, Shen Yuan deliberately ignored it.

He focused on the other three unfamiliar faces. These unnamed people have a strong and impressive posture. Just one look, and it is easy for anyone to say that they are strong and competent. They looked confident standing around high-ranking people like Xia Jinhai—a plus point in Shen Yuan’s opinion.

"And you must be the agents that Chairman Mao highly talked about. I’m Shen Yuan, your leader and head of the suicide squad of the Special Counterterrorism Task Force," Shen Yuan joked.

The other abashedly smiled upon hearing that Chairman Mao complimented them. They didn’t comment on the "Suicide Squad" remark by Shgen Yuan because they knew there was a touch of truth in that.

The three exchanged looks as if they were silently discussing who would talk to the first S-Class omega.

"Chairman Mao must be exaggerating. Anyways. We are pleased to meet you, Leader Shen Yuan. We are—" They were supposed to be introducing themselves and voicing out their requests when suddenly, the omega that Shen Yuan ignored spoke again.

"Hey, you. Where is your Master Bai Tingfeng?" Mo Zhu said to the towering alpha, Gu Jinpeng. The former assassin-turned-assistant is standing behind Shen Yuan, and he looks displeased that someone is talking down on him. Even though Shen Yuan managed to tame him, that doesn’t mean his sharp edge as a killer dulled. He’s pretty much the same as before when it comes to other people.

He unapologetically frowned at Mo Zhu.

The celestial fox spirit could no longer keep his temper, so he gently and passively showed his irritation in a child-friendly manner. Why does this hairy caterpillar keep on asking about his husband?

Bai Tingfeng is with Assistant Su for some important business talk. But why on earth shall he say that to this annoying Mo Zhu? He’s not freaking crazy!

"Oh, you’re still here? I thought you already left!" Shen Yuan let out a laughter that contained nothing but malice. "And to answer your question, my husband is somewhere in our house."

Anyone with ears can hear the meaningful emphasis Shen Yuan put on the pronouns. It sounded well and casual, but the underlying meaning was rather unkind and scathing to the confident Mo Zhu.

The red-haired omega looked at Shen Yuan aggrievedly but only bit his cheeks and didn’t talk.

Seeing that Mo Zhu was finally silent, Shen Yuan felt a sense of satisfaction.

"What are we guys waiting for here? Let’s go somewhere we could sit and talk."

The celestial fox spirit suggested. Doing introductions at the doorway is rather informal. It’s better to look at it if everyone is at ease.

But to his surprise, his supposed-to-be squad members stopped him.

"Uhm... Leader Shen Yuan. We might be impertinent to say this in our very first meeting, but... the introductions, can we do it by fighting?" a beta male with a considerably slim and agile physique carefully asked Shen Yuan.

The man sounded polite and well-meaning, so Shen Yuan took it well.

Interesting, he thought. He carefully studied the three agents he would be working with.

The man who spoke to him was relatively short in stature, but his gaze was unwavering and sharp. He looked like he was a smart fighter.

The other two are alphas. One is a tall female with an amazingly fit body. Shen Yuan wasn’t sure what kind of awakener she was, but Shen Yuan could sense a strong mana coming from her.

The last alpha was a male who had a goofy smile on his face. Something about this man’s gaze tells Shen Yuan that he’s a fan— a big one.

That aside, this new colleague’s physique was only slightly smaller than Bai Tingfeng’s. He bets that this man’s power is somehow related to martial arts, like his husband.

"What?!" Yanyan couldn’t keep himself from reacting. This older brother looks strong and nice, but he turned out to be a bad guy who wanted to bully his Daddy in their own home?!

He bravely stood in front of his Daddy, willing to use his tiny body like a shield. Shen Yuan and the other adults found this amusing. They all had a slight smile on their face— well, except for Mo Zhu, who looked conflicted.

The toddler was cute, but... it’s the face of his rival.

Shen Yuan scooped up his little boy and explained, "They are not bullying me, okay? These brothers and sister are just asking to spar with Daddy. You know, like when training."

With this, Yanyan believed his Daddy, but he was still worried.

The three competent agents found themselves incapable of defending themselves to the offended eyes of an innocent child.

With his son in his arms, Shen Yuan turned to his new subordinates-slash-supports, "Did Chairman Mao put you up on this?"

They immediately shook their heads.

"No way! We just wanted to show you what we are capable of, Leader Shen. We are working with an esteemed S-Class awakener like you, so we thought that it’s best to gain your trust by showing you our powers!" Say the alpha whom he thought was his fanboy.

"Please don’t be angry with us." The strong female alpha respectfully bowed her head, and the others followed.

Shen Yuan softly laughed, "Well, we might not have started working now, but one thing is certain. We seemed to have the same wavelength. I originally wanted to request a sparring session later to see if you can follow my pace. Aside from the ones on the lists, we will protect someone dear to me. Therefore, I want all hands who will help me to be strong and dependable."

"Fine," He fished something out of his pockets. His fox eyes were sharp and cunning.

"You, you and you," Shen Yuan threw the things towards his three colleagues.

They all instinctively catch it. They felt it was a paper-thin thing, and when they looked at it, they instantly recognized it.

"A talisman..."

"A protective talisman, to be exact," Shen Yuan pointed at the yellow paper with written signs and symbols in bright vermilion cinnabar. "That piece of paper can handle a single attack from Chairman Mao, so..."

Everyone who heard that turned their eyes wide. How could they not? A protective talisman that could handle A-Class dungeon monsters was sold in auctions for tens of millions of Yuan. It’s a rare thing.

But the omega before them was able to create a version that could outdo that?! And it was just given to them so casually?!

The ever-professional agents felt like crying because they felt touched— until Shen Yuan opened his mouth to speak again.

"That much is enough to protect you from a lethal shot from me."

"Huh?" The trio were utterly flabbergasted.

Xia Jinhai, upon hearing this, shook his head with a slight smile on his face. Even with the amnesia, Shen Yuan never really changed. He’s still someone who doesn’t know how to pull his punch.

Gu Jinpeng tried his best to hide his laugh but ultimately failed.

"Why are you laughing? You’re also joining."

The former assassin looked as if he had aged ten years in seconds. He shouldn’t have laughed!

"Oh? Three versus two?" Xia Jinhai.

"No, it’s a four versus one fight," The celestial fox spirit smirked.
