Chapter 107: Episode 9.10 Never Underestimate Omegas

Chapter 107: Episode 9.10 Never Underestimate Omegas

Silence blanketed the entire conference room as no one expected Shen Yuan’s outburst.

"Master Shen..." Gu Jinpeng and Assistant Su drawled in a daze, looking at their angry boss.

Never in their imagination did they expect that Shen Yuan would have stood up in their defense. They are willing to walk out of the room to avoid any trouble, but now they are not so sure if this is still applicable, given that Shen Yuan is now seething with fury for them.

It would be a lie if they didn’t say they were touched. This is their boss, Shen Yuan, they are talking about. The headstrong omega that they fear and respect for various reasons.

Little did they know, Shen Yuan’s fury wasn’t just because of the rudeness pointed at them or Mo Zhu’s bratty attitude.

This anger was actually triggered by the fact that this bloody-haired omega dared to act cute on his husband!

"What did you just say to me? This bitch!" Mo Zhu’s soft face contorted with anger after everything sank in his head.

"Mo Zhu!" Bai Tingfeng roared, furious that someone dared to call his husband names, especially in his presence.

Friend or not, no one is allowed to disrespect Shen Yuan—his omega.

Bai Tingfeng acted like a hero for a damsel in distress, but Shen Yuan is no damsel, nor was he distressed.

He’s got the qualities of a full-fledged villain and acted like one this time.

"Let me show how much of a bad idea it is to mess with what is mine," the celestial fox thought as he brought out his invisible fox tails.

Without warning, Shen Yuan threw a small ball of Heavenly Foxfire at the omega that irked him since he entered this room.

Everything happened so fast that everyone was not confident that they saw what happened from start to finish. All they could say was a blurry blueish-white ball zooming towards Mo Zhu.

"Huh?"

Even Mo Zhu, who was targeted, didn’t have a chance to utter a single syllable; his body just went stiff as natural instinct, and all he could see was a ball of danger shooting past a couple of inches away from his right face.

He was lost for a full minute, staring into the thin air, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

He felt like his entire life just flashed before him. That is what he thought as his heart started beating painfully fast.

Bam!

A loud slap on the table cut him from his daze. He traced the person behind it and saw a beautiful yet slender hand resting on the table.

Shen Yuan flashed a lopsided smile once his eyes met Mo Zhu’s and then spoke in a cold, brash tone, "Listen here. Young man, I don’t know what powers, ability, or position you hold that qualified you to be in this room. But here’s the thing: the fact that you almost shit your pants when that fireball went your way tells me that of all people here, you’re weak ass shit. These two assistants of ours have seen and experienced more than that from me, and yet they didn’t react as pathetic as you. In my opinion, you should be the one being dragged out of this room. You don’t deserve to be here."

This unfiltered berating from Shen Yuan ultimately woke Mo Zhu up. He angrily stood up, forgetting the fright he just had, thanks to Shen Yuan.

Mo Zhu has always been the arrogant one because of his impressive family background.

Just like the Bai Family, the Mo Family is included in the top four hunter families that sire S-Class awakeners way back from the first appearance of dungeons. They are part of the band of heroes who set the foothold for humanity when the world is still in shambles due to the emergence of dungeons.

There was a famous moniker for these four families, the Four Great Guardians of Country C. It is because all four families signify the Four Auspicious Beasts from the mythology.

The Bai Family is the white tiger.

The Qing Family is the azure dragon.

The Mo Family is the vermillion bird.

And finally, the Wu Family is the black tortoise.

It was said that as long as these families existed, their Country C would not fall to any adversary. Thus, they enjoy a certain level of fame even now.

Wealth, respect, and influence are deeply engraved in each member of these families. Which in turn turned some of them into arrogant brats. This is pretty much the case for Mo Zhu, so there’s no way he will take Shen Yuan’s reprimand like a good boy.

"How dare you! I’m the Chief Operations Manager of Hunter Association’s Dungeon Management Department!" The livid crimson-haired omega pointed his finger at Shen Yuan’s face. "It was you who didn’t deserve to be here! What can an amnesiac former model do for this special operation? Pose for a picture? Looking all pretty for the press? You can’t even maintain a spotless image, and you let yourself be lewdly photographed when you’re in heat!"

"If you dared to question my participation, then why don’t you ask Chairman Mao why was he so hell-bent on luring me to be part of this?" Shen Yuan coldly crossed his arms and stared at Mo Zhu with his murderous glare.

This heated argument rendered the alphas and betas in the room silent. It was pretty intense for them to handle when two omegas with big personalities clashed with one another.

Bai Tingfeng shut his mouth and didn’t say a word. He knew his husband more than before, and if he were correct, Shen Yuan wouldn’t appreciate it if he suddenly stood in between.

The alpha placed more trust in his husband’s firepower. Shen Yuan wouldn’t be bullied at the end of this argument. But little did he know Shen Yuan would drop a bomb that would shock him.

"And in response to your later statement, why is it a concern that I was photographed licking my husband’s nape? We did more than that in private, just so you know. This alpha that you were shamelessly coveting is mine anyway."

"What?" Bai Tingfeng stupidly reacted. He looked as if someone just screamed breaking news in his face.

Wu Jin, who knew about the tea, looked at Shen Yuan and Bai Tingfeng with disbelief.

How did Shen Yuan know? And how come Bai Tingfeng never knew about it?

Everyone in their social circle knows that Mo Zhu is adamant about marrying Bai Tingfeng, even if it is just a marriage of convenience.

However, because of politics and keeping the balance between the four great families, this marriage ultimately didn’t go through, and Bai Tingfeng ended up with Shen Yuan.

Mo Zhu’s face started to turn like pig iron thrown under fierce fire. Slowly, hot red flares emerged from his body, like a phoenix burning. Shen Yuan wasn’t sitting idle either. This time, multiple blue orbs of heavenly fox fires materialized behind him.

The mana inside the conference room became erratic.

Shen Yuan flicked his tail, ready to throw one of the omega before him moved for an attack. He didn’t realize that for the second time, his invisible tail touched Bai Tingfeng, and the man felt it clearly this time. He looked at his husband with wonder. Questions started to spring from his mind.

Meanwhile, Admiral Wu Jin felt the qualitative improvement of Shen Yuan’s mana.

"Wait, it’s only been days since we last saw each other. It’s impossible to change that much! Was his power always been this intense, and he was holding himself back that night?" He wondered.

Contrary to the Wu Jin, Xia Jinhai looked at the two omegas alertly, ready to create a forcefield that will isolate them in case all hell break loose. If there’s something he never underestimate, it’s the omegas fighting over alphas.

Omegas are unstoppable if it’s the alphas they are talking about. This is a biased opinion of a beta.

Everyone was standing on eggshells as the situation went on.

Shen Yuan and Mo Zhu looked at each other—one with fiery hate while the other cold and apathetic. Then, the two moved in synchrony and made their first move. Everyone scrambled so as not to be caught in a possible explosion. Bai Tingfeng, on the other hand, stood behind Shen Yuan, ready to assist if things went south.

But before the thing that they dreaded happened, the door opened, and Chairman Mao appeared. His long gray hair is tied to the back with a high ponytail, revealing his face that’s full of confusion.

"What is happening here?" he asked.

Mo Zhu looked frustrated, but in the end, he immediately killed his fire. He respectfully bowed his head to the Chairman and responded, "Nothing."

Chairman Mao looked at the other young people in the room, and they all guiltily looked down like a child caught red-handed stealing candies. Well, except for Shen Yuan, who dispersed his Heavenly Foxfire with a huff.

"We’re just doing team building," Shen Yuan cheekily answered. Everyone— Bai Tingfeng included looked at Shen Yuan incredulously. What kind of alibi is that?

Chairman Mao smiled amusedly. He was not stupid not to know what was happening, but since Shen Yuan was being mischievous, he let it slide. "Oh, I see. That’s good to hear. That means you guys must have known each other by now. Let’s move somewhere else."

"And Shen Yuan, I need your expertise now. Your old friend is waiting for you."
