Chapter 363 - 356: Origami Tobiichi Reunites with Her Parents

"Twelth Bullet."

With Haruto's assistance, the Twelfth Bullet—previously only theoretical—was used.

The timeline twisted.

Kurumi felt her consciousness fall into chaos, as if something was tugging at her.

Meanwhile, Haruto watched the surroundings with keen interest.

He hadn't noticed before—the timeline of the 'Spirit' parallel reality was already riddled with holes. It was being held together purely by the timeline's own convergence force, despite the countless gaps drilled through it.

The past was no longer a single line; it had become a tangled mess like a ball of yarn.

Good thing this world didn't have a Time Management Bureau.

Otherwise, some time criminals would be sentenced to execution every ten minutes.

Take Kurumi, for example.

It was obvious that before meeting Haruto, Kurumi had attempted to alter the timeline many times.

She simply hadn't succeeded—until now.

In the river of time, time itself lost all meaning. So perhaps it was a fleeting instant—or perhaps an eternity.

When Kurumi opened her eyes again, the world around her had completely changed.

The most immediate difference was the dramatic transformation of the streets.

In the 'Spirit' parallel world, due to the existence of 'Spirits,' spacequakes were regarded as common and disastrous phenomena.

To prevent massive casualties from such events, all streets and residential buildings had been fortified accordingly. This included, but was not limited to, the standardized 433-type air raid shelters,

Retractable alloy protection layers on skyscrapers, and countless spacequake warning signs and direction boards.

But now—none of these things were present on the streets.

Everything looked a little more... simple.

Seeing this familiar scenery,

Kurumi Tokisaki's pupils contracted slightly—but soon, a smile spread across her face. Even without confirming the date, she knew—they had succeeded.

They had finally returned to that time.

To a world where 'Spirits' had not yet been recognized.

As Kurumi was caught up in excitement—

"Wow, we really came back!"

"Hey, that's our old high school!"

"Let's go, let's catch that woman and make her pay!"

"Avengers who crossed the river of time—now is the moment of vengeance!"

Hearing the noisy chatter behind her,

Kurumi Tokisaki's mouth twitched.

She turned around—to see the Four Heavenly Kings behind her.

Her four past selves during her chuunibyou phase had not remained in the original timeline.

They had traveled with her.

Kurumi was speechless.

She had spent decades, sometimes even centuries, just to gather enough power for a single Twelfth Bullet.

Yet now, when she fired it just once, all four of her clones were brought along?

Just how immense was the power Haruto had given her?

Naturally, Haruto and Origami had also arrived in this timeline. Origami looked around, her expression somewhat dazed.

They had really returned to the past.

Unfortunately, this point in time was quite distant. It seemed like it was even before she had been born.

At that moment, Kurumi turned to Haruto and bowed respectfully.

"Haruto, thank you for your help. I'm going to fulfill my wish now. If I survive and return, I'll offer everything I have to you, as promised."

With that, Kurumi grabbed her Four Heavenly Kings and disappeared into the shadows of time.

Despite her headache over them,

At this point, they were the only usable clones she had.

The coming battle would be heavily lopsided, so she had to seize every ounce of strength she could.

Watching Kurumi vanish, Haruto simply shook his head, unfazed.

Origami tugged at Haruto's sleeve.

"I want to... see my parents."

Haruto nodded.

The two of them walked off in a particular direction.

The current timeline was thirty years in the past. In this time, Origami Tobiichi hadn't even been born.

Even her parents were still in college.

With faint memories as her guide, Origami headed toward her parents' university. From what she remembered, her parents had met in high school, and then agreed to take the entrance exam for the same college, where their romantic relationship began.

These were stories from her childhood—

Ones her parents often boasted about as their romantic tale.

Back then, Origami greatly admired love because of them.

Unfortunately, that childhood admiration had long been torn apart by disaster and vengeance.

Using a navigation app, the two quickly arrived at the university.

Now came the search.

But with thousands—if not tens of thousands—of students at the school, not to mention faculty and staff, finding two people in the crowd was anything but easy.

Thus, Haruto and Origami wandered the campus for half a day with no success.

Origami even began doubting her own memories.

Luckily, there was one last clue.

As night fell, Origami pulled Haruto to a small path behind the school.

Cherry blossom trees lined the road, their branches lush. A few early blossoms were already peeking out.

From what Origami remembered—her parents always came here for a walk after dinner. Even after marriage, they fondly reminisced about this path,

Describing its cherry blossoms as beautiful as a fairyland.

But in reality, these trees were not ornamental cultivars.

Even in full bloom, they couldn't compare to popular scenic spots. The sparse early blossoms already showed that much.

Maybe... it was only beautiful because it existed in their memories.

After a long wait—Origami's eyes suddenly widened.

A couple holding hands slowly walked down the path.

They looked like college students.

The woman's face shared a striking resemblance—about 70%—to Origami's own.

Seeing this, Origami suddenly darted out.

She ran straight toward the couple not caring about anything else.

Haruto could only sigh and snap his fingers. He altered the energy surrounding Origami, changing her from a mere observer to a solid projection.

This made her virtually indistinguishable from a real person—allowing her to interact with others.

Origami hugged her mother tightly from behind.

Startled, the young woman let out a gasp.

The man quickly reached out to pull the unknown girl away.

But the woman stopped him immediately.

She could feel Origami's small body trembling. And from the girl—she sensed something inexplicably familiar.

When Origami looked up, the couple was stunned.

Had the young woman not known she was an only child, she might have thought this was her long-lost little sister.

Origami, however, was already in tears.

Her tears fell like rain, streaming down her cheeks and onto the ground.

The couple abandoned their questions for the moment.

Origami's mother gently hugged her back, patting her on the back. She only meant to comfort the girl, to help her calm down—but that made Origami cry even harder.

After all, it had been years since she had last felt this familiar warmth—

This soothing embrace.

Haruto stood quietly to the side.

After sobbing for a long while, Origami suddenly turned and ran, leaving behind two confused individuals.

Origami's mother's hand was still raised in midair.

She had never seen that girl before.

And yet, as Origami ran away, her heart was flooded with reluctance.

A sudden wave of sorrow rose up, almost making her cry as well.

Origami's father was still bewildered, and when he saw his girlfriend about to cry, he quickly tried to comfort her.

Origami, on the other hand, had already run back to Haruto's side.

Gripping his arm tightly, she pulled him away without looking back.

She had merely lost control for a moment.

Now that she'd regained her composure, she wouldn't interfere with the timeline too soon.

Minimize the impact. Reduce unexpected changes.

At the same time, she had made up her mind.

She would save her parents.
