Chapter 346: 346 The Assault Begins!

The fabric of space shattered, and the ground turned upside down, suspended in the sky.

Houses, along with flowers and trees, were infinitely replicated, as if the world had transformed into an enormous kaleidoscope stretching for miles.

The sky collapsed, and the world itself peeled away layer by layer, like shards of glass.

The arcane magic from the Dark Dimension was terrifyingly powerful—within seconds, the reality of Kamar-Taj was torn apart and reduced to chaos.

If it were ordinary people caught in this violent distortion of reality, they would’ve been obliterated in an instant.

Even skilled sorcerers would be powerless if they lacked the strength to resist the overwhelming force that directly distorted reality itself through the power of the Dark Dimension.

Fortunately, those standing here were far from ordinary!

Sensing the danger, Kagura Hitomi immediately teamed up with Stephen Strange, and together they created a massive Mirror Dimension over the training grounds of Kamar-Taj, shielding all the sorcerer apprentices.

The Mirror Dimension is a pocket universe forged by dimensional sorcery, entirely separated from the fabric of real space.

Events in the Mirror Dimension have no effect on reality, and vice versa.

This absolute separation behaves almost like a physical law. Not even Kaecilius, empowered by Dormammu, could easily breach it.

In the original MCU, Stephen Strange once used the Mirror Dimension to deflect the full power of the Power Stone.

"This should be safe for now," Kagura said, glancing around at the ever-shifting and collapsing layers of reality.

"No matter how strong the enemy is, it’ll take them time to affect this place."

"What the hell is happening? Are we under attack? Why? Who would do this?"

Stephen Strange was still reeling. "Is this Dormammu’s doing?"

"Oh?" Kagura raised an eyebrow. "You’ve heard of Dormammu?"

"I mean, I’ve read a bit about him."

Despite the chaos, Strange looked almost proud of himself.

Perhaps he didn’t yet grasp just how terrifying Dormammu truly was.

"I read that Dormammu constantly seeks to conquer Earth. He’s the main adversary every Sorcerer Supreme must prepare to face."

"No," Kagura corrected him. "This isn’t Dormammu directly. This is most likely the work of his disciple—Kaecilius."

At that moment, Mordo stepped forward from the crowd that Kagura and Strange had protected.

He’d clearly been observing their actions from nearby.

"Master Mordo! I’m so glad you’re okay," Kagura called out, waving to him. "You’re thinking what I’m thinking—this attack has Kaecilius written all over it."

Not long ago, Kaecilius had betrayed the Ancient One and defected to Dormammu’s side.

Taking his loyal followers with him, he’d also stolen forbidden rituals capable of summoning the Dark Dimension and Dormammu himself.

Now wielding Dormammu’s power, Kaecilius was far stronger than an ordinary sorcerer—powerful enough to rival even the Ancient One.

"Kaecilius..." Strange frowned. "Isn’t he the guy who strung up the old librarian before chopping his head off?"

"That’s him," Kagura replied. "And he also took the forbidden ritual that allows communication with Dormammu."

"Yeah, Wong told me about that," Strange said. "But what I don’t understand is—why attack Kamar-Taj directly? Doesn’t he know the Ancient One is here?"

"Exactly. That’s what’s strange." Kagura nodded. "If Kaecilius wanted to bring Dormammu into the real world and achieve ’eternal life’ from the Dark Dimension, then he should be targeting the three Sanctums across Earth—not Kamar-Taj."

Mordo’s expression darkened. "But Kaecilius came here first and even dared to confront the Ancient One directly. That doesn’t add up."

Strange added, "Then maybe... summoning Dormammu isn’t his goal? Maybe there’s something here more important than the Sanctums?"

Something even more important?

Kagura pondered deeply.

If I were a follower of Dormammu, why would I attack Kamar-Taj, knowing the Ancient One is here?’

It wasn’t personal—Kaecilius had never harbored deep hatred toward the Ancient One, only mistrust and disdain.

In fact, she may have even saved his life once.

And even if Kamar-Taj were completely destroyed, the three Sanctums around the world would still stand unaffected.

So if the goal was summoning Dormammu, this attack made no sense.

Which left only one possibility:

There must be something in Kamar-Taj that Dormammu fears—something Kaecilius was ordered to eliminate before the next phase of their dark plan could proceed.

But what?

Kagura paced slowly, thinking.

’Could it be the Ancient One herself?’

No—that didn’t make sense.

While powerful, her strength also stemmed from the Dark Dimension. She couldn’t possibly harm Dormammu.

Even if she were alive, as long as the Sanctums fell, she wouldn’t be able to stop Dormammu from consuming Earth.

So what was Kamar-Taj’s most important asset besides the Ancient One?

"...The Eye of Agamotto!"

Kagura blurted it out. "We can’t stay here! We absolutely cannot let Kaecilius lay a hand on the Eye of Agamotto. Without it, we have no chance against Dormammu!"

In the original MCU, Doctor Strange used the Eye of Agamotto to trap Dormammu in a time loop and bargain for Earth’s survival.

But in this world, the Ancient One had warned: Dormammu was well aware of the Time Stone’s power.

And that awareness alone could drastically alter the course of events.

Dormammu wasn’t taking any chances—he wanted the Eye of Agamotto gone.

"What is it?" Mordo asked, clearly not following. "What about the Eye of Agamotto?"

"Kaecilius attacked Kamar-Taj to seize or destroy the Eye!" Kagura said, absolutely certain.

"Dormammu fears its power. That’s why Kaecilius came here first—to eliminate it!"

"That... actually makes a lot of sense," Mordo muttered, brows furrowed. Then his eyes widened. "Wait, Wong’s in danger!"

The Eye of Agamotto was housed deep within the library of Kamar-Taj—a sacred relic guarded for generations by sorcerers.

In truth, it was one of the six Infinity Stones—the Time Stone, capable of controlling time itself.

At this very moment, it sat silently within the library.

And the battle to decide its fate... was just beginning.
