Chapter 495 - 495: Bonded Transference

"Get off me!"

Zachary grabbed Fen by the back of his fur, ripped it off his leg, and threw him towards the wall.

However, before Fen smashed into the wall, he turned around, landed at the wall on all fours, and then jumped straight at Zachary.

"HOWL!"

Fen howled.

[Howl of the Eclipse!]

Zachary's body froze in horror—he wanted to move, but his legs felt like jelly.

'It is the doings of that creature!'

Fen opened his maw and jumped towards Zachary's throat—as he was about to latch on and take a bite off it, Zachary swiped his hand and slapped Fen across the face.

With a pained yelp, Fen collided with a wall, slid back down to the floor, and stood back up, but it took him a moment to do that.

It was clear that the slap had stunned him.

"An animal that has fear-inducing ability—Magical Beast!"

Zachary said with a narrowed gaze, and his greed was evident in his eyes.

"A Magical Beast…"

Karma whispered in shock, and Julian was also in shock—they wondered how the hell there was a Magical Beast inside their humble abode.

They were almost extinct, and most humans in the world live their entire lives without ever seeing one.

"I see from the look in your eyes that you had no idea that you had a Magical Beast in your house. It means that it must be Kiernan's."

Zachary said and laughed.

"I am so lucky. Unbelievable. I can't believe my luck. I not only get to kill you two and Kiernan, but I also get a Magical Beast.

"Once I sell this Magical Beast, I will have enough money to not worry about anything ever again. I will have enough money for the next thousand years, haha!"

His evil laughter echoed through the room.

"Kiernan had Magical Beast all along and didn't tell us?"

Julian looked at Karma.

"I don't blame him. He must've acquired one during his travels, and after a short internet search, he must've found out just how valuable one is.

"I don't know whether he intended to sell it or keep it for himself, but if I were in his shoes, I wouldn't tell anyone either.

"When so much money is in question, even the good people can turn very bad very quickly."

Karma said.

Julian turned silent, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and saw that the smoke was almost depleted—he couldn't hold Flow State much longer.

"I'd love to see Kiernan's face when he comes back and notices that everything he has is now mine. Ah, the look on his face must be priceless."

Zachary grinned hideously.

"…Right."

Karma turned around, walked to a shelf, and took out a small box from there—it was a wooden, nicely carved box of dark brown—it had been sitting on that shelf for decades now.

It had been there since Kiernan was a child—it hadn't been moved even one bit—it was one of the rare treasures he encountered during his travels in his youth.

He opened the box, and inside, there was a blue, round-shaped pearl—Soul Fragment!

"I've heard that Magical Beasts eat Soul Fragments. It's not, of course, widely common knowledge, but a certain owner of Magical Beast once told me that."

Karma said, looked at the Fen, and carefully approached him.

Fen's tail puffed up, and he looked at him in curiosity—but he didn't sense any ill intent—so he dropped his guard.

"Eat up."

Karma lowered the box in front of Fen, and when his silver eyes saw the Soul Fragment, they brightened brilliantly.

"What are you doing?"

Zachary approached him, reached out to Karma's head, but then Julian kicked his hand away and swung his towards his face.

With a backstep, Zachary dodged the punch, and with a frown on his face, scratched his fingers towards his face.

However, Julian weaved past his scratching fingers and smashed his fist into his chest—King Cobra Strike!—it left behind a small bruise!

Swoosh! Slap!

Zachary slapped Julian aside—he fell through a table and crashed to the ground in a heap of broken wood and glass.

As he turned back to the dark blue-furred creature, he saw that he was eating the Soul Fragment—he took bites out of the hard shell as if it was a delicacy.

Soon, Fen was done devouring it, and he let out a satisfied growl—but then, something started to change within the depths of his small body.

"RAWR!"

Fen let out a sudden roar, his claws grew in length, and his fur became thicker and darker—the legs turned into powerful hind legs, and his size doubled in seconds.

[Low Stage Martial Champion Achieved!]

"Rawr…"

Fen let out a menacing growl, and his new aura swept across the house.

"He advanced…"

Karma said with a smile and caressed Fen's head while he kept his silver eyes locked on Zachary—it was considering Zachary a dangerous enemy entity.

[New Ability Unlocked!]

[Bonded Transference: With the connection of the two growing, Fenrir can now change places with his master, Kiernan, anywhere in the world!]

"…"

Kiernan looked silently in the air in front of him—he had received all the notifications of Fen using his abilities.

It meant that he was fighting someone.

'Bonded Transference.'

Kiernan cracked his knuckles.

'I left Fen behind to also protect Karma and Julian, if need be. It looks like he has been discovered and is in danger.'

Kiernan looked out of his room towards the living room—Imperius was sleeping on the sofa.

'If I transfer there, Fen will be transferred here. I don't know whether Ethereal Bond is enough to stay hidden from Pirate Immortal, but I have no other choice.

'They are in danger.'

Kiernan stood up, took out a white tape from his inventory, and wrapped it around his knuckles—he tightened it nice and tight.

"Come to me, Fen. I'll take it from here."

With that said, he vanished into a cloud of purple mist, and in his place, a tail-wagging creature looked around the room with curiosity in his eyes.

"Yip!"

Swoosh!

"…?"

Zachary's eyes widened in shock, and he stopped in his place—his cold sweat running down his back.

He had been waiting for this moment for so long, thinking about it daily while lying on the hospital bed, but now.

A fear crippled his senses.

"Zachary, I should've known."

Kiernan looked at him coldly and slowly cracked his knuckles.

"Kiernan…"

Karma looked at his son in shock—then looked for the dog, but he was long gone—and he realized it must've been another ability of his.

"K-Kiernan…"

Zachary's voice trembled, and he dug his fingers into his palm to stop himself from shaking—he hated himself for now feeling fear.

But he couldn't help it.

He was standing in front of the only man who had ever defeated him!
