Chapter 57: Chapter 55: One Person’s Victory (Part 1)

December 16, the third day of the Extreme Martial Arts Tournament.

The matches in Lightweight Group C had been drawing more and more attention, particularly those involving Wu Li.

In his previous two fights, Wu Li had won easily, capturing a lot of attention. Many Traditional Martial Arts enthusiasts started rallying support for him online, especially since in recent years various "Masters" had been knocked out, leaving enthusiasts repeatedly disappointed. This rare competent fighter excited everyone.

For many critics of Traditional Martial Arts, Wu Li’s performance was a blatant slap in the face. Actually, many of them didn’t care whether Traditional Martial Arts were effective in combat; they just found a sense of superiority in dismissing it. The feeling of standing on the right side, the dominant side, and looking down on others fascinated them, so they couldn’t allow someone to spoil this pleasure.

It wasn’t just Wu Li who used Traditional Martial Arts in the ring; there were others who had achieved results with these techniques, unrecognized by the public, such as many champions in the UFC who studied and learned Traditional Martial Arts and used these techniques to win in the ring.

Could the critics not see this? Not necessarily, but they chose not to admit it because admitting it would mean acknowledging their previous mistakes.

Online, anyone could claim to be a father, but admitting fault is an absolute no-go!

Thus, when Wu Li’s situation blew up, a group of people who weren’t genuinely concerned about whether Traditional Martial Arts worked or not became exceedingly concerned about Wu Li’s wins and losses because it determined whether their sense of superiority could continue.

In a rented room, Shen Xiaoming lay on his bed furiously typing on his phone.

Xiaoming is so powerful: "Is Wu Li your dad? Why do you keep licking his boots?"

As he typed this in Wu Li’s live stream, it was immediately drowned out by numerous comments, some directly cursing, others mocking.

Shen Xiaoming gritted his teeth, typing rapidly.

"He won the first match against a retired player, and the second one against an injured rookie. Should you really be boasting about that record?"

"I think Traditional Martial Arts is really pitiful. A little achievement and everyone loses their minds. If Wu Li loses to Qi Quanzhi later, will you all be too embarrassed?"

"Who even calls him a mighty big brother? Makes me laugh. I think he’s just a little brother!"

...

Many people were commenting in the section, and Shen Xiaoming’s words got buried within seconds; he had to repeatedly type out the same sentences several times. Whenever he saw someone responding to him, his eyes lit up, and he instantly switched to combat mode.

"I’m up next."

In the live room, Wu Li smiled at the camera, then handed his phone to someone else and began walking towards the stage.

"Mighty big brother, go for it!"

"Go for it!"

"Knock out the opponent!"

"Can you do it even faster?"

...

Almost all the comments were wishes of good luck. Shen Xiaoming posted, "Trash, just wait to lose!" His comment was quickly overwhelmed by the cheers.

"Idiot." Shen Xiaoming watched Wu Li’s figure in the camera and sneered dismissively in a low voice.

Usually, if he cursed the host like this in other live rooms, he would have been banned immediately, but for some reason, he was never banned in Wu Li’s room, and Wu Li never responded to him, making Shen feel even worse than being banned. This made him dislike Wu Li even more.

This time, the phone camera quickly adjusted, clearly showing the situation in the ring. After warming up, Wu Li and Qi Quanzhi entered the ring, and the referee called them together to explain the rules.

The referee quickly waved his hand, signaling the start of the fight.

Shen Xiaoming sat up straight, eyes glued to the screen.

Wu Li and Qi Quanzhi clashed rapidly, with Wu Li launching an attack first using Tiger Hugging Head. Qi Quanzhi stepped back to dodge and then counterattacked with a punch. Wu Li used a Splitting Fist Block to throw in a counter.

In the first minute, both had their moments of attack and defense, but overall, Wu Li was more aggressive. Qi Quanzhi absorbed many of Wu Li’s attacks to make his own counters.

"Attack him, why are you scared!" Shen Xiaoming anxiously yelled at the screen, not really understanding the fight but feeling irked since Wu seemed fiercer.

As though hearing Shen’s thoughts, Qi Quanzhi intensified his attack on the stage, his punches and kicks combined in a set of combo moves that pushed Wu Li back.

"That’s right, keep it up!" Shen Xiaoming excitedly raised his arms.

However, his smile barely lasted three seconds when Wu Li suddenly seized an opportunity, blocking Qi Quanzhi’s right arm with a Cross Fist, moving forward swiftly, and with an up-close Splitting Fist to the face, he knocked Qi Quanzhi down.

"I..." Shen Xiaoming’s face flushed red, his words stuck in his throat.

On the ring, although Qi Quanzhi fell, he reacted quickly, immediately propping up his legs aimed at Wu Li, keeping Wu "refused to enter."

Wu Li seemed to have no intention of grappling with Qi, voluntarily stepping back, giving Qi a chance to get up.

Subsequently, they exchanged moves, with Qi turning much more cautious, mainly defending, and not giving Wu another chance to knock him down.

Look! As the first round ended after five minutes, Wu Li’s live stream comment section became lively:

A Flying Frog: "Wow, that was nerve-wracking!"

Uncle II: "Exciting! Wu Li fought well!"

Wu Li’s little fangirl: "I don’t understand, did mighty big brother have the upper hand?"

A Person’s Spring: "Yes, Wu Li was very aggressive, Qui mainly defended in the latter half."

I Have a Pair of Iron Fists: "In the first half, Wu Li tried to find an opportunity to knock out his opponent but got hit a lot by Qui. His resistance to hits is really strong, but the score for the first round might not be higher than Qui’s."

Wu Li’s little fangirl: "Ah? Does that mean mighty big brother is going to lose (pitiful)?"

I Have a Pair of Iron Fists: "Not at all, it’s only the first round, don’t rush (cold sweat)."

Xiaoming is so powerful: "Tch! Didn’t I say Wu Li isn’t cut out for this, wilting against a real professional (scorn)!"

Wu Li’s little fangirl: "This person is so annoying, isn’t there an admin, ban him (frowning)."

Uncle II: "Ignore him, he’s just a troll."

Shen Xiaoming lay back on his bed, smirking, suddenly feeling validated; his fingers flew over the keyboard.

"If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work; when Wu Li loses later, some people better not cry (smirk)."

The thirty-second break between rounds ended quickly, and Wu Li and Qi Quanzhi fought together once again.

The comment section quickly quieted down, with everyone’s attention returning to the ring.

Seeing no one responding to him, Shen Xiaoming watched Wu Li irritably.

"Humph, just wait and see how you lose!"
