Chapter 353: Chapter 323 Confrontation, Rejection

Wu Li used system detection to scan the area and couldn’t help but sigh to himself.

More than thirty people from the Japan martial arts world attended today, and there were actually eight master level martial artists!

"Wow, quite a few experts have come," Li San remarked from the side.

Although he didn’t have system detection, he could roughly discern some details just by looking, and he recognized quite a few people among the group opposite. He had never fought them, but he had heard of their combat records.

"Everyone says that there are many experts in the overseas Chinese martial arts community, but that’s due to the overall environment. In a foreign land, many of our children must start martial arts training from a young age to strengthen their ability to defend themselves, otherwise, they’re easily bullied by local kids. Opening a martial arts hall is the same; without real skill, you’ll go out of business soon after opening," Li San suddenly stated.

"But Japan is different; their environment isn’t as harsh, yet they do very well in protecting and inheriting their traditional culture. There are many experts in the martial arts world, and the age distribution is very healthy, with old, middle-aged, and young generations all present."

Hearing Li San say this, Wu Li also noticed that among the Chinese experts who had come to greet him earlier, there were no young people; almost all of them were in their thirties, forties, and even fifties. In contrast, on the Japan side, the eight master level martial artists indeed encompassed all three generations.

Besides the nineteen-year-old prodigy Xiaoze Wutian, there was also an Aikido master level martial artist in his twenties who looked very young.

"Judging from the recent movements of Japan’s extreme organizations, they have grand ambitions, and it’s only a matter of time before they enter the United States. When that time comes, conflicts will be unavoidable, and duels like today’s won’t be few. If our martial arts world can’t produce several talents from the younger generation, we’re likely to suffer in the future," Li San said with a worried expression.

He was thirty years old this year and, with the longevity practice of Tai Chi, maintaining his peak for another decade wouldn’t be difficult. But apart from him, the American Hongmen had no younger expert of the same level as him, which was why he expressed such concerns.

Upon hearing this, Wu Li became even more determined to disseminate the complete martial arts heritage that he could exchange from the system as much as possible in the future. Not to mention anything else, at the very least, it could produce many more experts within the Chinese martial arts community.

Wu Li himself had suffered from an incomplete inheritance. He began martial arts training at six and mastered the Xingyi Fist taught by his grandfather to a master level by twelve, but for the next six years, he was unable to break through his bottleneck. If he had a complete inheritance, perhaps his achievements at nineteen wouldn’t be beneath Xiaoze Wutian.

Now with the system, Wu Li could obtain the complete heritage of almost all martial arts. He felt it was his duty to do so, to ensure that those passionate about martial arts wouldn’t have to halt because the path ahead was cut off.

The arrival of the Japan martial arts world’s practitioners caused the volume of conversation on the deck to drop considerably, as everyone turned their attention toward them.

Due to historical issues between the two countries, most Chinese martial artists had no fondness for those from the Japan martial arts world. What’s more, everyone was well aware that the reason today’s duel had come about was essentially because organizations like the Japan’s Guandong Association and other extreme groups wanted to grab territory in the United States. Therefore, the people present naturally did not show a friendly face to the group of unexpected Japan visitors, and their gazes were filled with hostility.

Being martial artists, they were most sensitive to gazes filled with hostility. A truly skilled warrior would train themselves to be as keen as a wild beast, hair bristling at the slightest rustle of wind or grass, with power reaching the extremities, ready to explode with force at any moment.

None of the martial artists that came from Japan today were mediocrities; sensing the intense hostility all around them, they all reacted, lowing their bodies like wild beasts ready to pounce.

Seeing this response from the other side, the Chinese martial artists naturally wouldn’t show weakness, promptly responding and taking on postures as though they were about to strike, with many even showing undisguised killing intent in their eyes.

Shush!

The atmosphere on the deck immediately tensed up; the invisible string in the air was pulled tight, as if it might snap at any moment!

There were not only martial artists present but also many from the United States’ wealthy families and financial tycoons. They were originally having a good time, ready to watch the show, but now they all shut their mouths.

The martial artists present today had almost all seen blood, with more than one life on their hands; they were real combatants. With dozens of martial artists no longer concealing their killing intent and confronting each other, the tangible pressure was almost enough to make an ordinary person in the midst collapse.

The deck suddenly became eerily quiet, and no one dared speak a word, fearing the slightest carelessness could attract the attention of these lethal figures.

Wu Li hadn’t expected the situation to suddenly escalate like this. Naturally, he wasn’t afraid, and he even had some wicked amusement thinking about it: if a fight broke out, what would the scene look like with dozens of highly skilled martial artists exchanging blows? And, considering there were many professional bodyguards with guns present, well, quite a scene indeed.

"Gentlemen, do you intend to warm up before the match starts?"

A man stepped forward from the group of Japan martial artists and spoke in strangely-accented Chinese.

Wu Li looked at him; the man was unremarkable in appearance, of average height, but at this moment, he could disregard the hostile gazes of dozens of experts and speak out, indicating that his composure and mental cultivation were quite extraordinary.

"This man is called Kamino Kei, creator of Shinoyama Style Aikido, and is recognized as one of the few who can fight the best in the Island Country Martial Arts World right now," Li San whispered to Wu Li.

Wu Li nodded; Kamino Kei’s overall score was indeed the highest among that group: S (67%).

Although an overall score didn’t represent real combat ability, it could at least be used for horizontal comparison, revealing a person’s physical condition.

After Kamino Kei spoke, the group of Japan martial artists behind him significantly reined themselves in, clearly indicating his high prestige among them.

"Everyone, we are not the main characters today, let’s hold back a bit."

A loud and clear voice rang out on the deck, using the technique of Sound Strike to ensure everyone could hear clearly.

Wu looked over and saw Zhou Yuanqing speaking.

Given his status and seniority, he was indeed the only one who could ask the Chinese martial artists to restrain themselves a bit under the current circumstances.

Sure enough, after Zhou Yuanqing spoke, several other elders from the Martial Arts World also joined in, easing the tense atmosphere at the scene.

"Phew, that was scary. These martial artists are just too barbaric, ready to start a fight at the drop of a hat."

Not far from Wu, a young man in a suit with a leather collar, also standing near the railing, spoke with a pale face.

Beside him was a young woman with fiery red hair; both of them exhibited noble demeanor in every move, accompanied by three robust bodyguards, evidently the scions of an elite American family.

"Hmph, Roger, you’re too timid, they’re just a bunch of martial artists. Owen and the others are carrying guns, what are you afraid of?" The red-haired woman said disdainfully.

Roger laughed, "Sofia, you were just as frightened a moment ago, and you have the nerve to tease me?"

Sofia blinked nonchalantly and replied, "You’re a man, and I’m a woman, how can it be the same?"

Roger, speechless, shrugged, "You shouldn’t underestimate these martial artists; guns might not be of any use if they really start fighting."

After saying that, he glanced at Wu who was not too far away, "The Kung Fu Hero had demonstrated it in front of so many people, hadn’t he?"

Sofia also looked at Wu, showing an interested look, "He really is charming."

Roger laughed, "What, you’re interested in him?"

"What if I invite him to be my Martial Arts Coach?" Sofia asked.

Roger looked at Sofia indulgently, "If you want to, just go for it. I guarantee he won’t refuse."

Sofia stepped forward towards Wu, "Alright, let’s go and say hello first."

Wu looked at the red-haired girl approaching him, a well-proportioned figure in an off-shoulder dress, wearing bright red lipstick, the phrase ’flaming red lips’ coming to mind.

"Hi, my name is Sofia," Sofia introduced herself generously as she approached Wu, speaking in Chinese.

"Hello," Wu nodded.

Roger followed Sofia over, while the three bodyguards stayed close behind. Roger glanced at Wu and Li San but showed no intention of introducing himself, instead watching Sofia with interest.

Sofia, looking at Wu’s handsome face, smiled and said, "Wu, I’m very interested in Hua Country’s Kung Fu, can I ask you to be my personal coach?"

Roger, standing behind her, looked at Wu with a smiling face.

Wu shook his head, "I’m sorry, Miss Sofia, but I’m afraid I don’t have the time. However, I’ve opened a Martial Arts Hall in New York, and if you’re really interested in Hua Country’s Kung Fu, you can sign up there."

Sofia frowned slightly upon hearing this, took half a step forward to get closer to Wu, her tone seductively insistent, "But I’d really prefer you to teach me personally."

Wu took a subtle step back, still smiling, "Sorry, I really don’t have the time."

"I’m Roger Holmes."

Suddenly, Roger, who was behind Sofia, stepped forward and introduced himself, gesturing elegantly towards Sofia, "She’s my sister."

"Mr. Wu, our family would like to invite you to become Sofia’s private Martial Arts Coach. You’d only need to spare a little time each day to coach her individually, and I’m willing to offer a tuition of one million US dollars a month."

Roger looked at Wu with what he assumed was an amicable gaze.

Wu’s smile faded as he looked at Roger, already guessing that the latter must be the scion of some major American family.

"I’ll say it one last time, I really don’t have the time. I’m sorry."

Roger’s expression turned sour, and he frowned at Wu, "Mr. Wu, I’ve heard that you plan to open Martial Arts Halls in the United States. Even if you don’t need money, don’t you want the friendship of the Holmes family? Doing business in the United States is something nobody would refuse."
