It was after 2 a.m., and the entire retirement home was very quiet.

Tonight, Wu Li and the production team had toasted Zhao Kai quite a bit, and the group listened intently as Zhao Kai shared many of his drug-busting stories. The production crew, comprised of all men, had several members whose eyes turned red from the intensity, forcing them to drink heavily.

In the end, only Wu Li and Zhao Kai still maintained some sobriety, while the rest of them had all passed out.

After escorting the production crew to their rooms to sleep, Wu Li finally returned to his own room.

Although he had drunk quite a bit, he wasn’t the least bit sleepy. Looking at the calligraphy hanging in his room, he reminisced about the unique sensation he experienced during his martial arts practice earlier, and thus, he began practicing his moves again in his room, attempting to recapture that previous feeling.

Their target, Zhao Kai, was just across from Wu Li’s room. Brother Four leaned against the door, trying to listen to any sounds from within.

But after a long while, he heard nothing.

"Brother Four?" one of the underlings quietly asked.

Brother Four frowned and said to one of the underlings, "Keep watch here."

He then pulled out a room card from his pocket and approached room 307 across the hall.

One of the underlings shone a flashlight at the card slot.

Brother Four first listened for any sounds from inside room 307, hearing the sound of snoring. A vicious smile crossed his face as he inserted the card into the door.

A soft "beep", the lock disengaged.

Brother Four swiftly pulled out the card, armed with a gun in one hand and twisting the doorknob with the other, about to burst through the door.

Boom! Suddenly, a loud noise erupted from behind!

The door of room 307’s opposite burst open with a hole in the middle!

It was Wu Li, who had overheard the conversation of the two outside and sensed something amiss, then heard Brother Four using the room card at the door.

Knowing that Zhao Kai was staying opposite, he hesitated no longer and kicked his own door with force.

Without Zhao Kai’s phone number and no time to contact him, he could only startle the intruders with this drastic action.

The room door was wooden. Wu Li gathered his strength and using Muscle Bone Power, he kicked a large hole right through it.

Brother Four was taken aback and quickly aimed his gun in response.

Under the light, Wu Li also saw the gun in Brother Four’s hand and felt a shock. He quickly moved, darting to the side of the bed, out of Brother Four’s line of sight.

"Zhao Kai!!!"

The loud shout emanated from Wu Li’s room, almost rivaling the power of his previous "Sound Strike" against that Tai Chi Divine Fist practitioner.

Brother Four’s face turned a ghastly pale, and he said to the underling by the door, "Watch him!"

Then, ignoring what was happening across, he flung open the door to 307 and with a flashlight in hand, charged inside!

Standing at the doorway, the flashlight illuminated the bed. The sheets were thrown off. It was empty!

"Fuck," Si Ge cursed under his breath.

The plan had been perfect and everything had been going smoothly; they were supposed to burst in while Zhao Kai was deep asleep and easily handle the situation. Unexpectedly, someone was up in the middle of the night and inexplicably kicked the door in, ending up shouting Zhao Kai’s name loud enough for the entire building to hear.

"Damn it, lunatic!"

Si Ge angrily pressed all the lights on the nearby wall.

Directly opposite the door were a desk and a TV, to the left was a bed, and further to the left from the bed was the bathroom, which could not be seen from the doorway; one had to walk in to see it.

Zhao Kai might be hiding in the bathroom.

"You, go check it out," Si Ge ordered a minion behind him.

The minion, looking nervous, saw the furious look in Si Ge’s eyes and dared not hesitate. He walked slowly into the room with his gun.

With his back against the wall, eyes tight on the left, gun also pointed to the left. Slowly moving forward, then suddenly taking a big step, his body turned left, gun pointing toward the bathroom door.

Bang!

A gunshot sounded as the minion peeked out, and he was hit instantly.

Si Ge also rushed out the moment his minion was shot, turned, and looked toward the bathroom - Zhao Kai was standing at the bathroom doorway, firing a gun.

Bang! Si Ge fired, hitting Zhao Kai in the shoulder.

Zhao Kai’s body shook, and his arm holding the gun immediately dropped. Si Ge, like a cheetah, rushed up and grabbed Zhao Kai’s right gun arm, then furiously punched him three times in the face.

Zhao Kai fell to the ground, and his gun was taken.

"Zhao Kai!" Si Ge looked down at Zhao Kai, who was now unconscious, with a face full of hatred.

Inside the room, Wu listened to the gunshots, his body tensed, eyes rigidly staring ahead.

The sudden shouting and gunshot had awakened many people in the building, lighting up the entire building.

The minion assigned to watch Wu’s room glanced back at his comrade who had been shot in Zhao Kai’s room. Shot in the chest, he was now leaning against the wall, bleeding heavily, clearly not going to make it.

Nervously, the minion called out with a trembling voice, "Si Ge?"

Then he saw Si Ge carrying the unconscious Zhao Kai out, "Go downstairs."

On the other side, the man with glasses, following Si Ge’s orders, walked with Lao Liu toward Li Changsheng’s courtyard.

"When did you start following Si Ge?" Lao Liu, who had never seen this newcomer before, asked the man with glasses.

"This year," the man with glasses said, looking ahead.

Just as Lao Liu was about to speak, they suddenly heard gunshots behind them.

The two exchanged a look, uneasy. Normally, there should be no gunfire.

Lao Liu took out his phone and called Si Ge; after a while it was answered.

"Si Ge, what’s going on?"

"Nothing to worry about, already handled. You two hurry and bring the old man over."

Lao Liu breathed a sigh of relief, "Okay."

After hanging up, he looked at the man with glasses, "Si Ge said it’s handled. Let’s move fast."

The man with the glasses nodded, "It’s close, just a few more minutes."

They started to jog with their flashlights. Moments later, they saw Li Changsheng’s courtyard.

Without hesitation, they climbed over the wall into the courtyard and headed for the house.

The reason Lao Liu was paired with the man with glasses was that carrying a person over mountainous terrain would be faster with two people.

As for any potential issues with abducting a man in his seventies? Si Ge had never worried, and neither did the man with glasses or Lao Liu; they didn’t even draw their guns, just took out the rope, ready to enter the house and tie the man up.
