Chapter 111: Chapter 101: Blood Night, Besiege the Manor!
On March 27th, the day before the competition between Fenglin Group and the Yu family from New Country.
At 9 p.m., within the private estate Chen Zhengyang had purchased in New Country, Wu Li and Zhao Lixin were sparring with weapons in the practice room.
At this moment, the weapons they held were not the thin decorative swords for show, but specially made for real combat.
Wu Li was armed with a Tang Sword, weighing 2.5 jin, while Zhao Lixin wielded a Bagua Saber, with handle and blade totaling 1.4 meters in length and weighing 5 jin.
Zhao Lixin was also a martial arts fanatic. Having finally met a Traditional Martial Arts expert of similar realm, he was naturally unwilling to limit their exchange to mere discussions of fist theories; sparring was essential.
However, he was injured and it wasn’t convenient for him to exert too much force, so he proposed sparring with weapons with Wu Li. Neither of their weapons was sharpened, and given their control power, there was no need to worry about injuring anyone.
Swoosh! Wu Li’s sword stroke deflected Zhao Lixin’s saber, the blade brushing by Zhao Lixin’s right arm—winning a point in their sparring exchange.
Zhao Lixin stopped and frowned at Wu Li, "Have you frequently practiced swordplay before?"
Wu Li replied, "I’ve practiced for a while."
Zhao Lixin asked, "Why do I feel like you’re extremely familiar with my saber technique?"
Feeling somewhat guilty, Wu Li said, "Uh, actually I’m more familiar with the saber techniques of the Bagua Sect."
Wu Li had decided to attribute any questions about his lineage to his grandfather—after all, the man was no longer around to confirm it.
"Again!" Zhao Lixin, somewhat dissatisfied, requested to continue.
At first, it was fine, but as their sparring sessions grew in number, especially in the recent days where they used weapons, Zhao Lixin found himself losing almost ten out of eleven matches, which frustrated him—after all, he was someone who cared about his reputation.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Just as the two began another round of sparring, someone violently knocked on the practice room door.
The two stopped and Zhao Lixin walked towards the door, "Who is it?"
"Coach Zhao, a gang of people suddenly barged in!"
Zhao Lixin’s brow furrowed. He opened the door to see a security guard from the estate, who also belonged to Fenglin Group’s security department and had trained in Bagua Palm with Zhao Lixin. That’s why the guard addressed him as coach. In fact, Fenglin Group’s security department was almost turned into Zhao Lixin’s own Martial Arts Hall, with nearly every guard having received his training.
"What exactly happened?" Zhao Lixin inquired.
...
An hour before, inside a private estate, Yu Li stood in the courtyard with a dense crowd standing before him, everyone wielding long knives.
Basong stood behind him, his eyes bloodthirsty.
Yu Li walked back and forth in the corridor, seemingly in anticipation. After a short while, a man wearing glasses hurried over to Yu Li, bent over and panting, "Young Master, Chen Zhengyang’s car just arrived at Anxin Building, and Zhao Lixin wasn’t among those who got out. We can confirm that he’s still in the estate."
Yu Li’s mouth curved into a smile and he then laughed, "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s move!"
"But, Young Master, won’t the officials have concerns if we do this?" the bespectacled subordinate cautiously reminded.
Yu Li slapped him across the face, "Before, the Yu family got torn apart by a bunch of trash under that old fart’s leadership—having to settle a dispute with an outside enterprise through a competition, damn it, it’s embarrassing!"
The subordinate’s face swelled rapidly from Yu Li’s slap, but he dared not complain and continued to maintain his bowed posture, nodding, "Yes, I misspoke."
Yu Li stared at him until the subordinate broke out in a sweat, then suddenly laughed and stepped forward to help him up, "But you’re right to remind me; after all, the competition has been registered officially, so we should give face to the authorities. Thank you for reminding me."
Sweat continued dripping from the subordinate’s forehead as he shook his head hurriedly, "You’re too kind, Young Master. It’s my duty!"
Yu Li turned to the crowd in the yard and spoke in English, "Listen up, avoid using guns if you can, try not to kill anyone, understood?"
"Understood!" the crowd responded in unison.
Yu Li nodded in satisfaction then turned to Basong, "Your opponent for tomorrow, that Zhao Lixin, I want you to break his leg personally."
Basong hesitated, then said, "Young Master, could we maybe not break his leg, just injure him?"
Yu Li’s gaze immediately hardened, pinning Basong with his eyes.
Basong, unable to meet his stare, slowly lowered his head in submission.
Seeing this, Yu Li smiled contentedly, "You’re hoping to fight him when he’s fully recovered, so you wish I wouldn’t cripple him?"
Lifting his head with some excitement, Basong said, "Hua Country’s Kung Fu, masters, I want to step on them, one by one!"
Yu Li burst into laughter upon hearing this and patted Basong on the shoulder.
"I too enjoy stepping on others. You and I are alike in that, I like it!" he declared, then handed Basong a cellphone, "Take this phone later on, live stream the whole thing to me."
Basong paused for a moment, then took the cellphone and nodded.
Yu Li grinned, "Soon you’ll realize, following me is the best choice you’ve ever made!"
"Move out!"
...
An hour later, eight vans brazenly drove into a wealthy residential area, with the security guards at the gate turning a blind eye to the people inside the vehicles.
Chen Zhengyang’s estate was within this residential area. The eight vans stopped around the perimeter of his private property, and from them alighted a group of menacing men, each with a long knife in hand.
These weren’t locals from New Country, but immigrants, secretly gathered and trained by Yu Li, contrasting sharply with the average street thug.
There were fifty-six of them, surrounding Chen Zhengyang’s estate. Then, forty individuals started to move inside.
Since the residential area itself had a comprehensive security system, the estate’s perimeter wall was very low and had no barbed wire, allowing for easy entry.
The estate also had its own security patrol, brought over from Chen Zhengyang’s company—fifteen in total. However, Chen Zhengyang had left for business an hour earlier with five guards, leaving only ten behind in the estate.
Security in New Country was usually excellent, with no firearms allowed, even for professional bodyguards. Therefore, forty well-trained men with knives facing ten guards with batons did not leave much to the imagination.
Fortunately, these men were measured in their assault, merely subduing their targets without causing fatalities.
Per Yu Li’s instructions, Basong was live streaming everything to Yu Li via phone.
On the other side, as Wu Li and Zhao Lixin inside the house received the news, the estate’s perimeter was already swarming with the enemy, their breach imminent.
