Marry The Devil -
Chapter 43
Chapter 43: Chapter 43
~Mala’s POV
I halted, gazing at them...wondering why they would want to have breakfast with me.
"You can just say whatever you want to say here, your majesty," I said...the last thing I wanted was to eat with someone who had tried to snatch my man from me.
If Francis wasn’t the type that doesn’t sleep around, I was sure that I would be competing for a place in his bed by then.
"Are you refusing my request to eat with me because of the boy standing here?" The king asked, staring at Michele like he was a pile of rubbish.
Pride ...I hated him already.
"I am sorry your majesty but it’s not what you think. There is nothing between Lady Mala and I. She is only trying to...." Michelle stuttered.
"And who asked you to speak?" Arabella’s father asked.
Michelle lowered his head.
"Leave before I give you a real reason to plead and explain yourself," He sneered.
Michelle looked at me for a while before walking away. Arabella just stood behind her father, watching him pick on the innocent guard. I had always wondered where she got her attitude from...it wasn’t much of a surprise that she got it from her father.
"The boy hasn’t done anything wrong. You shouldn’t have spoken to him like that. He would have left anyways...you didn’t have to talk to him that way," I spoke with my gaze lowered. But I made sure that even the smallest amount of fear wasn’t in my voice.
He laughed. "I am king Luther, and I am sure that you must have heard of me. It is understandable that your mother is dead, but it isn’t an excuse for you to be disrespectful," King Luther said.
I wanted to talk back at him.....but I wasn’t ready to cause trouble.
"What it is that you want to talk to me about? I have to leave as soon as I can. I do not want his highness to get back and not find me in the room," I said.
I said those on purpose, reminding Arabella that I had what she wanted.
I looked at her and smiled. She looked completely different from the last time. Her skin no longer shinned like glass. She looked bruised and unhealthy.
"I guess my daughter isn’t the only one who has suffered in the hands of King Francis. I wonder what he would do to you if he doesn’t find you in the room," King Luther uttered.
I looked at Arabella...Francis did that to her? It was unlike him to hurt someone like that. I wondered what she had done.
"Not everyone gets punished by his highness. We all seem to have a different place in his life. Some of us receive love from him while the others are just bound to get nothing but torture and hatred," I answered, smiling from ear to ear.
Oh how the tables turned. The pride in his face dropped and was replaced with anger.
"Can we please just get to the conversation already. I really need to rest," Arabella who had been silent all along finally spoke.
I offered a slight bow before walking into the dinning area. I sat on a chair and had my legs crossed.
My mind was made up, I wouldn’t let anyone talk down on me or make me feel less of a person like Queen Venessa did.
As my mind drifted towards her, I wondered where she was and what she was doing with her sons. She was probably back at Silver Village....free after what she had done to me. She was definitely rubbing my father’s head, telling him what to do.
I snatched myself out of those thoughts and Madam Olivia walked in, just as King Luther and Arabella sat in front of me.
Madam Olivia was quite startled by their presence. She looked at me with worry in her eyes and I nodded, trying to tell her that I was comfortable with them being around.
"King Luther, my princess, please forgive me. I didn’t know you’re here. I would ask the maids to prepare food for you. Please, just wait a while," Madam Olivia bowed.
"You do not have to worry. I can share this with them, I do not have a problem with that but there are just some other things that I cannot share," I answered, looking into Arabella’s eyes.
"It is better that you come clean and talk straight, instead of beating around the bush, Mala," Arabella spat.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
King Luther cleared his throat, easing the tension between Arabella and I. "I am sure that you know why we are here, Mala," he said.
"I do not know, your majesty. I would prefer that you come clean and stop straight, rather than beating around bush."
I used his daughter’s words against him.
Madam Olivia left.
"We want you to leave," King Luther revealed.
"I will leave the dinning area if you want me to. I never intended to eat with you from the start," I stood up, about to leave when King Luther’s greedy intentions finally came to light.
"I want you to leave Crescent Village and let my daughter take your place."
I halted and looked at him. "I am afraid but that would never happen."
"I know what you want, Mala. You want a good life and I would give it to you in my village," he said.
"I do not want it. I am satisfied with that I have now, so please, the least you can do it not try to ruin it!" I sneered.
"We all know that you’re the reason behind the king’s hatred for my daughter. Please I beg you, Mala, do not be selfish!" He cried out.
I scoffed.
I couldn’t believe he just told me to stop being selfish. "Selfish?" I laughed. "Me? Selfish? You’re the one who wants to take what is mine and I am the one who is being called selfish?" I screamed.
"You witch!" Arabella yelled. "You have made him a monster! You’re the reason he makes me go through all of that pain! Just take what my father has to offer and leave! Leave! Leave Francis and I alone! You thief!"
I tightened my fist.
"We both know that you do not love his highness! All you want is the good life that comes with being with him! Just leave!" She cried and I smiled.
"I have begged Arabella but she doesn’t want to leave with me. So please, just grant my wish, Mala." King Luther begged.
I walked towards them and held Arabella’s hands. She fumed with anger and glared at me. "I’m a witch, he’s a devil. Tell me a better match than us." I said.
"Tell me why you’re being so selfish, Mala! Tell me why you are punishing me in the way!" Arabella cried.
"Tell me why you’re being a thief, Arabella, tell me why you want to take what isn’t yours!" I refuted.
Arabella fell to the ground and held my legs. "It’s pure pain, Mala. It’s nothing but pain for me when his highness tries to touch me. I know that it’s something you caused and it’s something that you can fix. Please, just help me and leave. I love his highness, with all my heart. Please, Mala I beg you." She cried.
Her words made my heart ache. Not because I felt sorry for her in any way, but because I was only gone for a few days and Francis had already tried to sleep with someone else.
I wasn’t the type to get jealous and stupidly leave. I knew what I went through before getting Francis and I wouldn’t stop the fight...never.
"You say you feel pain, don’t you?" I asked and she nodded.
"I know that you can fix that for me, Mala. My father will do anything that you want...just fix things for us. We’ll give you everything. Make his highness love me. Make him want me. Make it painless." She desperately begged.
"I wonder why you feel so much pain because it isn’t like that for me. When I’m with him, when he lays his hands on me...it’s nothing but a wave of pleasure running along my whole body. His touch, his voice, his gaze.....ah .. pure perfection, Arabella," I bragged and she slowly let go of my legs. "and haven’t you ever thought of the fact that the reason it hurts is because the both of you are not meant to be?"
"You’re wicked," King Luther said.
I smiled and nodded. "I know, but I am going to be nice enough to make you have nothing to worry about anymore. You no longer have to worry about the pain that comes with laying with him as I will make sure you no longer come close to him. You won’t even get to smell him."
"You lie! I’ll do everything within my power to make sure that the king is mine! I’ll steal him if I have to," Arabella seethed.
"Nonsense. I have gone through worse. I’ve gone against my stepmother, I’ve hated my own father and seen by own mother die. I’ll do anything to protect what’s mine. I’ll fight legions and cut through demon’s to makes sure I keep him. Dare me."
