Marry The Devil -
Chapter 24
Chapter 24: Chapter 24
Francis broke the barrier and Princess Arabella turned to Sir. Oliver, trying to catch a grisp of what was going on. The thought of Francis having a woman made her heart sting, but she knew she wouldn’t dare to complain.
The elders couldn’t hide how unsatisfied and curious they were.
Sir. Oliver was exceptionally angry. He hated that Mala had finally gotten a grasp of Francis.
"Your highness, you didn’t tell us that you already have a woman in mind? Who might it be? I am sure that if it’s someone important, we would have heard it of her by now," One of the elders said.
"Watch your words," Francis growled and the room was pin drop silent. The expression on Francis’ face dropped the usual cold and ruthless one.
"Your highness, I didn’t mean to get you angry. I hope that I am able to get on your good side," Princess Arabella said with a gracious smile and a slight bow.
Francis glared at her from her head all the way down to her toes. "You can’t," he coldly refused.
Princess Arabella smiled. "It seems like today isn’t a good day. I am sorry if it seems as if I am trying to get between you and your woman. You definitely don’t want her scent to leave and it’s fine. I would love to meet her some day," Arabella said, still smiling.
Her smile was so meek that all the guards still couldn’t stop staring. Even the old men wished they were young enough to wife her.
"I do not care which of them put you up to this. But I will never get married to you. Don’t even think about it. And if anyone of you try to do something funny, you should know what I’m capable of. Ask Micheal in his grave," Francis uttered, sending chills down their spines.
"Let this be the very first and the last time you all would go behind my back and make stupid decisions!"
"We’re sorry, your highness."
"The woman his Highness is referring to is, Mala. If I’m not mistaking," sir. Oliver said, breaking the sudden silence in the throne room as Francis rested his head backwards.
He purposely raised a conversation about her.
"Mala? The cursed one?" One of the elders exclaimed.
"That cannot be possible! I am sure that his highness wouldn’t want to settle for such a thing when there is a better woman before him!"
"She would definitely bring curses upon the village if she wears the crown with her unfortunate head!"
"Even her father cursed and sent her out of his kingdom because she kept making things go wrong for them!"
"That witch killed her own mother. We cannot let her have her way in her kingdom!"
"Please your highness, I beg you. You cannot to this," one of the elders begged and he fell to the ground, begging and pleading desperately.
The other joined him and Francis had his eyes closed.
"Please, your highness, consider the villagers. That girl would only bring curses upon us," they begged.
"Your highness, I am sure that you have heard what they all think about her. It would not speak well of you to get married to someone like this. Please, we beg you," Sir. Oliver begged and Francis stood up.
"Mala belongs to me and I am the one who decides what to do with her. I know how cunning every single one of you here can be. Lay one finger on her, and you’re doomed. Just so you know, accord the her the same respect you would accord a queen. Do other wise and you will lose your heads," Francis threatened as he walked ahead.
"Your highness!" Sir Oliver called.
"What?"
"About the yearly feast, we have a request to make about it," sir. Oliver said.
"What request?"
"We want it to hold in seven days from now," Sir. Oliver said.
"It has nothing to do with me. Hold the feast whenever you want to," Francis said, then he stormed out of the throne room, leaving the elders whispering and complaining.
"We need to get that girl out of the picture as soon as we can. We must do whatever it takes. Even if it means eliminating her completely," One of the elders said and Arabella smiled.
"Thank you," she bowed.
"You do not have to worry. I have the whole thing planned perfectly. Just make sure that his highness is attracted to you, Arabella. I am sure that you know what to do as a woman?" Sir. Oliver asked and Arabella nodded.
"I will do all that it takes, and I’ll make sure that she doesn’t get in my way," she smiled.
*******
~Aurora’ s POV
I laid on the bed, but I still couldn’t find rest. Obviously, Francis was the only one in Cresent village who wanted me.
The whispers about me had already become so loud and they no longer hif it from me. I heard words about be everytime and everywhere.
They all wanted me dead and completely away from the king ...but I knew the king wanted me. He would fight for me, wouldn’t he?
But what if he didn’t and they ended up Killing me?
I wondered.
Sincerely, I was scared and maybe even sad. I had always wanted to be loved but all that I got was hatred. I just wanted people to look at me with a smile on their faces but they kept raining curses on me.
I had tears streaming down my face.
I missed Francis... maybe seeing him would make me feel better.
Like he was listening to my thoughts, I heard his voice behind me. "I’ll marry you," he said and my heart skipped beat.
I jumped out of the bed and went to stand in front of him. "have you finally agreed to love me? Have you admitted it?" I asked with curiousity and eagerness, but his voice was cold.
"No," he answered.
"Then why did you agree to marry me?" I asked and the excitement in my voice dropped.
"The elders brought a thin woman whose hair has a color that I cannot understand saying they want me to marry her," Francis said, taking off his rob.
"They want you to get married to someone else? Why? And who is she supposed to be?"
"A princess," he answered.
I rolled my eyes and hissed. "I am not willing to share you with anyone. Whether you choose to admit it or not, you are mine and I am never going to let you go. Tell that ugly thing to stay away from you!" I yelled and he held my from behind. He rested his body on mine and I felt his breath on my skin.
"You won’t run away again, would you?" I asked, nervously and he smiled.
"I know you want me, but can you at least hide it? Stop thinking of petty things in your head and just let me hold you. I need enough of you that would last me for a few days. You don’t want me leaving the war front just to come and have a taste of you. Do you?" He asked me and I shook my head...even though deep down, I wanted to say yes. "Stay still and be a good girl. Don’t cause trouble like everyone says."
