Married To My Ex's Brother, Reborn Miraculously
Chapter 99: Augustine’s twin brother.

Chapter 99: Augustine’s twin brother.

Gabriel stared at his father, stunned into silence. The thought rang in his mind like a slap— ’’Augustine will inherit everything," he murmured under his breath.

For a moment, he couldn’t process it. He had been certain the shares would come to him. After all, he was the rightful heir. This... this felt like betrayal.

If Dimitri went through with it, Augustine would control nearly half the company. With 15% from his late father and 30% from Dimitri, he’d become the highest share holder. He could seize the chairmanship.

Gabriel’s grip on power would be gone. His expression twisted as realization set in. The shock gave way to fury, bubbling to the surface fast.

"You can’t be serious," he snapped, shooting up from his seat like a spring. His voice was sharp, shaking with emotion. "You’re giving it all to Augustine? Are you out of your mind? That’s my birthright."

His finger jabbed at his own chest, veins pulsing in his neck. "I’m your legitimate son. I built this empire with you. And you want to hand it to some—some outsider who vanished for years?"

His breathing was heavy now, rage seething beneath every word. This wasn’t just about shares. It was about pride, power, legacy—and Dimitri had just threatened to take it all away.

Dimitri sat up straighter, gripping the armrests with his wrinkled hands. His stare cut through Gabrial like steel. "Don’t dare call him an outsider," he growled. "Augustine is my grandson. He carries my blood—just like you do."

"Humph..." Gabriel snorted, his expression full of contempt. "I’ve never seen him as family—just like his father, your illegitimate son."

The words hit like a slap. Dimitri’s hands on the armrests trembled, and for a second, he closed his eyes, the past flashing through his mind like old film reels.

The affair. The child born of it. The woman he failed. Gervis, the son he tried to raise in secret.

Gervis was a filial son – quiet, determined, fiercely intelligent. He had worked twice as hard for half the recognition, climbing the ranks through sheer effort. Dimitri had always known Gervis deserved the CEO position more than Gabriel, but family pressure, his wife’s scorn, and Gabrial’s threats had tied his hands.

Eventually, he handed the position to Gabriel. As Gabriel’s power and influence grew, he made Gervis’s life miserable. In the end, Gervis lost everything—his career, his standing, and ultimately, his life.

The official reports called it an accident. But Dimitri had always known better. Gabriel’s ambition had no limits, and Gervis had been in the way.

After that, Dimitri’s only priority had been to protect Gervis’s son. He sent Augustine away, fearing history would repeat itself. Gabriel had made it clear: ’stay away from the boy, or he dies too.’ Dimitri, who had lost power, obeyed, his guilt growing heavier each year.

Growing old and losing his influence, Dimitri had no choice but to comply with his son’s demands. He quietly kept sending money to his grandson, unaware that Gabrial had intervened and blocked the transfers, leaving Augustine to struggle alone overseas.

Dimitri’s chest ached. He had failed Gervis. He had turned his back to Augustine when it mattered the most. But he wouldn’t repeat the mistakes.

No more silence. No more compromises.

"I made mistakes," Dimitri said with a firm nod, locking eyes with Gabriel. "I handed everything to you and turned my back on Gervis. But that ends now. It’s time I make things right for Augustine. I’ll compensate him."

"Compensation?" Gabriel’s face twisted with disbelief. "You call this compensation?" he snapped. "You’re giving him the majority shares. Do you even hear yourself? Those shares are mine by right. I’m your legitimate son—the rightful heir. You can’t just hand them over to someone else. I won’t allow it."

Dimitri’s temper flared. His voice trembled with anger and the weight of long-buried guilt. "I already made you my successor. You had it all—status, power, control. I was even ready to give you most of my remaining shares. But you never stopped playing dirty. You crushed Gervis. I stayed silent. You told me to cut off Augustine, and I obeyed like a coward. But even that wasn’t enough for you. You went behind my back and blocked the money I sent to him."

His voice cracked slightly at the end, but his eyes burned with fierce anger.

Gabriel’s expression darkened, disbelief flickering in his eyes. ’How did he find out?’

He had done that secretly, certain Dimitri would never uncover the truth. But the secret was eventually out to his father. Soon, the realization dawned on him. His shock turned to fury.

"You went behind my back and investigated me?" he snapped.

"I had no choice," Dimitri replied coldly. "You’ve crossed every line. You even tried to harm Augustine. When will this madness end?"

Gabriel’s lips curled into a bitter sneer. "You are questioning me! Do you even deserve to? You’re the one who caused this mess. If you had stayed loyal to my mother, none of this would have happened. We were fine until she came along—your mistress, that woman who ruined our family. My mother lost her mind because of your betrayal. And now you expect me to show mercy? I won’t stop until every trace of that bastard’s bloodline is gone."

Dimitri’s heart clenched, guilt crashing down on him like a wave. He had no defense. Gervis was the product of his mistake, and Gabriel was right to resent the damage it had done. But Dimitri had made peace with the past. He couldn’t let it justify cruelty.

"You say that now..." he muttered, rising slowly from his chair, gripping his cane for support. His voice wavered but carried weight. "If you truly intend to wipe out Gervis’s bloodline, then you’ll have to go through me first. Because Gervis was my son—my own flesh and blood."

He paused, his hands trembling slightly before he tightened his grip on the cane. "And what about Denis? Are you ready to kill him too?"

Gabriel froze. His eyes widened, the color draining from his face at the mention of Denis.

Dimitri’s gaze burned into him. "Don’t forget," he warned, "you only have someone to carry your name because of Gervis. Denis is his son, too, Augustine’s twin brother. The same blood you want to erase... is the very blood keeping your own legacy alive."
