Chapter 60: Episode 11 Lizard_2
Lynch couldn’t help but marvel at Deluo’s immense strength and the lizard’s hard skull. He was well aware of the hardness weapons his magic could create: in terms of durability, that giant wooden club could already rival an ordinary copper bar. The force needed to strike and shatter this copper-like rod again must be enormous!
The most terrifying thing was that after such a strong impact, this arm didn’t crumble under the counterforce but instead continued to rain down fiercely on the lizard’s head with storm-like frequency.
Nimo turned around, trembling as he pulled a small crossbow from his backpack and shot it at the giant lizard with a snap. In Dwarf City, he had only seen small, cargo-carrying lizards, which were tame creatures. Although he had heard of those giant predatory lizards, it was only when seeing such a colossal creature standing before him that he could truly feel the terrifying atmosphere described in books. The rancid stench emanating from its bloody maw made this exceptional Dwarf Chef feel nauseous, and the beast’s murderous aura made his legs tremble uncontrollably. Were it not for the faint trace of resistance he still clung to, Nimo would have already turned and fled.
So, it was no surprise that this shot went wide.
The giant lizard, infuriated by the fellow on its head, twisted its body vigorously and shook its broad shoulders, trying to throw the guy off its head. Deluo, however, had already sensed the lizard’s intentions and grabbed tightly onto the gaps between the monster’s scales, holding firmly onto its back.
"I dare you to keep shaking! Still shaking! Don’t think I can’t do anything this way!!" Despite having no free hands to attack, Deluo was thoroughly annoyed by the creature beneath him. He decided to raise his head and headbutt the wound on the lizard’s head.
"Ah!!!" "Roar~~!!!" Deluo and the lizard cried out in pain simultaneously. "You damn fool! Why is your skull so damn hard?! It hurts like hell!!" the warrior shouted angrily from the lizard’s back.
The lizard felt that the prey it encountered today was proving to be quite difficult, and it might even lose its life here if it wasn’t careful. It raised its head, and its throat began to swell.
"Watch out, it’s about to spit acid!!" Lynch said while extending his right hand. Just as the lizard was about to open its mouth and spew acid upward, a lightning beam shot from the mage’s fingertips, with a crackling explosion sound, cutting a high-speed path through the air, and instantly entering the lizard’s neck.
The lizard’s entire body stiffened for a moment, and the acid it was about to unleash never emerged. The lightning’s power pierced through the softest part of the monster’s neck, exploding inside it. The lizard’s neck burst like a punctured balloon, with a bang, splattering green acid everywhere.
Deluo quickly rolled off the lizard’s back, narrowly avoiding the flying acid. Lynch and Nimo reflexively rolled to the ground and hid behind a rock. The stones splashed with acid sizzled, corroding into small holes. Although this acid was strong, it was nothing compared to the Black Dragon seen that day.
"Damn thing! Finally resolved it!" Deluo stood up awkwardly from the ground. "Lynch, what did you do to make it explode? Don’t you know this acid is dangerous?"
Lynch was puzzled too. Since when did a lightning beam have the explosive power of a Fireball? Originally, he intended to use lightning to paralyze the nerves in the lizard’s neck, making it easier for Deluo and Nimo to attack. He didn’t expect to blow the lizard up.
The mage shrugged, indicating he didn’t know either.
"Ah! This is bad." Nimo came out from behind another boulder and said to Lynch, "Our food..."
The splattered acid landed mostly on the lizard they used to carry goods, continuously corroding the luggage on the saddle. The supplies the three of them had prepared were all burned to ashes with a sizzling sound.
"It’s okay, aren’t we close to Gray Dwarf City? We’ll get new supplies then," Lynch walked over and gently patted Nimo’s shoulder—Nimo was quite a bit taller than others of his race, making him the only Dwarf Lynch could pat on the shoulder rather than on the head.
