Chapter 316: Episode 16 Magic Bead_3

Lynch couldn’t think of anyone else who could use such a spell to awaken the Necroman Magic Pearl’s power. Without the first Chapter’s general scroll, merely looking at the other "Creation Law" can only offer some insight to mages when casting spells, but it cannot teach any new spells, and it is completely impossible to wield power like the Ancient Great Arcanist. The first scroll is like the foundation of a building, and while Lynch holds all the building materials, no matter how great others’ comprehension abilities, they cannot construct a magical house.

"Zilvra, how does that Magic Artifact work? Are the undead summoned or created?"

"I am not sure about that." Zilvra replied, "After all, I haven’t seen that thing with my own eyes, and I’m not a mage, so how could I know? However, our first family’s technique for creating undead is much stronger than other families’. Could it be related to this Magic Bead?"

"It’s quite possible." Lynch said, "Even after hearing your story, I still can’t be certain about the origin of those undead. If, as you said, they are the disaster caused by a Magic Item, then things are simpler: we just need to destroy that Necroman Magic Pearl. Though there is a possibility that some undead creature commands an army to attack Salantir, that explanation is even more bizarre than the Magic Item one..."

"What do you plan to do?" Zilvra asked, "Even though your power is formidable, you’re not capable of fighting indefinitely like an undead. What is in the Elf Kingdom that’s worth you taking such risks and paying such a significant price?"

"If I simply said ’the power of friendship keeps me here’, it wouldn’t be entirely truthful. That reason would be a lie not only to you but also to myself," Lynch said, "The Elf Kingdom has something I need. Curiosity drives me to explore the essence of magic, and that item is a great shortcut. I think, if I can help them resolve the current crisis, I would then have the right to make certain requests of the elves."

"If it’s a task with rewards, then I’ll participate." Zilvra licked her lips, "I never fight for things that aren’t practical."

At this moment, Anna returned to the Holy Temple, and Soka wasn’t by her side. The female elf was surprised to see Lynch and ’Zilvra’ still staying at the summit of the Holy Mountain. She slowly walked towards the mage, but her steps seemed somewhat unsteady, as if tripping over obstacles set by some thoughts in her mind.

"Good day. You two are still here, aren’t you tired?" Anna forced a smile, but her gaze was only on the mage: "Soka had a meal and is now fast asleep in bed; you should also have something to eat. Our elven food is quite good."

"I’m not hungry." Zilvra just glanced at Anna and then turned her gaze back to the mage: "But I won’t force you, nor deprive you of your right to dine. So, I’d better go check on Soka."

With that, she quickly left the Holy Temple, as if there was nothing else to hold her. As Zilvra passed by Anna, her hand instinctively touched the thin sword at her waist.

Lynch also noticed this, puzzled by Zilvra’s seemingly provocative behavior. He quickly spoke to the elf, who was still unaware of the danger: "Anna, I have some questions for you, about the situation with the undead."

Zilvra’s hand left the weapon as if nothing had happened, and the female drow swiftly departed the temple.

Only after her footsteps faded into silence did Anna stand before Lynch. She bowed her head, then suddenly swept her gaze around, rubbing her hands together, controlled by a sense of anxiety.

"Is there something you want to tell me?" The mage noticed the elf’s unusual behavior, yet even with his clever mind, he couldn’t figure out why both ladies had become so strange today.

Anna finally raised her head and asked quietly and somewhat hesitantly, "Is Zilvra a Dark Elf?"

Lynch’s expression didn’t change much, but he was shocked inside. How did Anna guess Zilvra’s identity? Anyone who had heard of the Dark Elves would first think of the typical silver hair and dark skin, especially that unique skin color, which is the hallmark of the Drow. In contrast, Zilvra’s appearance was closer to a Celestial Creature, much like the little angel Soka. The strength of the Dark Elves’ bloodline couldn’t conceal the powerful genetic traits of a Celestial Creature, and the white skin should have prevented most people’s suspicions.
