Chapter 245: Episode 89 Leaving the City_2

"Could there be a traitor among us?" Lynch thought for a moment, it seemed somewhat unbelievable. Felps, Nimo, and Deluo were well acquainted and could be ruled out; Zilvra’s family had disappeared, as a half-blood she couldn’t exist in the Dark Elf world, and was unlikely to betray them; little angel Soka, she probably didn’t even understand what betrayal meant, and wouldn’t appear on Lynch’s list of suspects. So who could it be?

Lynch thought it over and turned his gaze back to the map. After a while, he rolled up the map and said to everyone: "The other route is even less safe, I decided to take the first route that Little Finger mentioned."

Felps visibly breathed a sigh of relief, he drank water vigorously, striving to quickly regain the ability to speak.

"Mage, I have an objection." Priest Joe said: "I heard that Dark Elves sometimes go to the surface to slaughter elves, these missions generally wouldn’t be too far from here, why not take that road? That way, after we get out, we’ll be in the Elf Kingdom and receive the best hospitality."

"Are you saying our hospitality isn’t as good as elves’, Joe?" dwarf Gongragan snorted: "In the elf place, I can’t even get a piece of meat, much less a big bowl of strong liquor. Other than those tasteless grasses and twigs, there’s nothing there!"

Lynch signaled everyone to be quiet, "Now is not the time for discussion, time itself is against us. Discussion can only waste our opportunity. There will be Dark Elf slaughter squads on that road, so I don’t intend to go there." After he finished speaking, he tapped the ground with his magic wand: "I’m not seeking opinions now, but making a decision. Does anyone have anything else to prepare, if not, the Flash Gold Stone will soon illuminate the night, and then we will set off."

Lynch walked up to the second floor of the Black Crystal Tower, with Zilvra closely following behind him.

"I don’t trust them." Zilvra said when only she and Lynch were present: "I can only trust you. Lynch, what exactly are you planning?"

"No particular plan." Lynch smiled at Zilvra: "Even if I were alone, I could still leave this Underdark." He whispered as he looked at the celestial-bloodline drow in front of him: "Zilvra, now that the Tracking Array has disappeared, why don’t you leave? No one can monitor you anymore."

"What, you don’t want to take me to the surface anymore?" Zilvra said: "Forget it, I can tell you’re joking by the look on your face. No need to test me, I will definitely follow you."

"I don’t have anywhere else to go..." Zilvra continued. "Actually, the fact that you won’t head towards the elves’ place already shows you won’t leave me behind. Because only I would encounter trouble there, right?"

"That’s a point I don’t want to elaborate on." Lynch continued climbing the tower, "Do you need new weapons, or will you use the thin sword I repaired for you?"

"This sword is enough." Zilvra did not continue to follow the mage, she quietly watched Lynch’s back, stood silently for a while, then returned to the first floor.

Here, everyone was preparing for the evening in their own way. Deluo and Half-Beastman Mep were arm wrestling, but little angel Soka tickled Deluo’s armpits, allowing the Half-Beastman to win easily; Gongragan was wiping his axe alone in the corner, mumbling; Little Finger Felps and his halfling partner William were not gathered together, instead laying on opposite sides of the room, each cautiously guarding their own bags, while closely watching each other’s actions.

The Little Dwarf sat aside, needing to confirm once more if he had forgotten anything. Finally leaving this place, he was filled with excitement. Following Lynch and Deluo out this time had broadened his horizons, especially collecting so many beautiful goodies, it was definitely worth the trip.

"Maybe I should go back home once and let my uncle see these nice things." Nimo thought, "Yes, I should find a time to discuss this with Lynch."

Lynch was all alone at the top of the Black Crystal Tower, only he could come here. He compared a dark elf map treasured in the tower with the halfling’s map. The halfling must have planned a suitable route, but the key now is, when can one decide if the team itself is in danger, and where should we take the right path?

A massive metal ball floated silently beside Lynch. Since that Drow Mage murder occurred, this ball had not moved. Lynch had been studying this metal ball’s function after finding the Tracking Array below it. But even here with the Dark Elves, there were no related records.

The mage sighed, closed the map, and took one last look around the room. Although there were quite a few magic items collected by the Dark Elves here, for those of them who wished to leave the underground, these things were no different from burdens and trouble. Lynch gently stroked the surface of the metal sphere with both hands, ultimately giving up the idea of cracking it open. Without seeing its interior, it was impossible to understand the true structure of this object.

He carried his Powerful Wand and walked down the tower. The Flash Gold Stone atop the Black Crystal Tower was already reminding him that it was time to depart.

Everyone was ready, even little Soka understood the importance of this journey, appearing fully prepared.

"Let’s go, it’s time to leave here." Lynch walked over to Felps and returned the map to him, "Little Finger, you lead the way."

The group left the Black Crystal Tower, with no one carrying lingering feelings for this place, as Ratris City had never been their paradise.

Only the Black Crystal Tower watched their departure, while other dark elves in the city were celebrating Briza becoming the First Matron. Beneath the Flash Gold Stone, that metal sphere slowly began to melt, its hard shell gradually returning to a liquid state, with silver text continuously emerging from the sphere’s surface. Unfortunately, Lynch would never get the chance to see this.
